Yelp keeps asking me why I keep coming back to Assi. Really it's not because of Assi at all, but instead their food court. From cafe Mozart to Manhong, and all tasty Korean eats in between, this is my go to place for super quick, inexpensive tasty food because it's close to school. Assi is the anchor store to a large variety of Korean owned shops should the food court not be enough for your tastes, and parking is not an issue in this lot Oh sure, you can do some grocery shopping and get fruits and veggies on the cheap at Assi, but just remember if you do get your grocery on, that you stop by their food court read more

SO. MANY. SALES. This large supermarket isn't only Korean but is also home to a variety of many other international foods. Like I had emphasized earlier, there were just so many good sales that were offered in produce, dry goods, and general products. Shopping for a family of six and leaving the store with only $50 spent? Uh, yas girl ^o^ . The food court hidden on the sides was also a plus too after spending energy looking for bargains. I love the food at this place. It reminds me of NYC Chinese restaurants, fresh and delicious. I always order some sort of fried rice; beef, chicken, veggie, shrimp, etc. and it's always great! Their soups are delicious! The only problem with this place is their lack of visibility. The place is hidden at the corner of the plaza and the signs are in another Language. Good luck finding it with google maps. I'll try to take a photo next time I go. P.S. The bathrooms are really clean, yes I like clean bathrooms it will get you an extra star when I rate. read more

We love Assi plaza. The produce is incredible, the meat and seafood selections are amazing. They have a fish service here where you choose your fresh ( often live) fish and they prepare it as you wish. Also, the food court is wonderful. I was driving in the area and thought I check out the ASSI PLAZA. First off, I'm a Hmart shopper. Main reason is that it's closer. It was Sunday afternoon around 1PM. Surprisingly, it was not crowded at all. ASSI plaza is located in a newer shopping center with mainly other Korean restaurants and retail. I went inside the food court which has many selections of Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean dishes. We decided on Korean snack bar and ordered the udon and ramen. It was flavorful and affordable at $7 which includes small plate of kimbap and radish kimchi. Next, I went to the produce section and it was comparable to Hmart. I still prefer Hmart because at the same time, Hmart seem to have higher turnover. Less turnover= less than stellar quality. The fish aisle was next the service was slow. Maybe because they didn't have many customers? It took a good five minutes before they approached and assisted. The selection is good and food fresh. I think I had higher expectations compared to Hmart that I left disappointed. I don't think it's worth a trek for someone living intown. There are so many other choices Buford farmers market or Hmart. read more

Although I shop at Assi Plaza on Pleasanthill often enough, I avoid this one like the plague. There is a weird odor inside (like soft/rotten fruit and veggies. This definitely isn't the cleanest grocery store I've ever been in, and being clean helps sell your produce so I just don't understand a dirty grocery store at all. The vegetables here look like they should be thrown out and are past their prime. I didn't linger too long cause I just felt dirty. read more

Smaller than the Assi on Pleasant Hill but still delivers. You might not be able to find all the items you want but The basic items are there. The food court it's smaller than the other Korean grocery stores so not much variety in my opinion. The vegetable and fruit area it's pretty good and most of times they seem very fresh and well kept. There is a little cosmetic store area near the exit if you need to grab something for your personal skin care as well. This Assi it's located in an all Korean stores plaza like the super Hmart in pleasant hill. So if you want to hit up a bakery, restaurants, pool, pharmacy, bank etc. they are all at your finger tips in this little plaza. Overall a good place to come and do your grocery and get your basic items. read more

This place is less expensive then H-mart, but the freshness of the produce is somethimes questionable. I like to swing by here since it is near my work- and the meats and seafood is A-OK! I really enjoy the food court, the prices are reasonable and quick for lunch! Would definitely recommend the food court if you want a quick Asian meal of Japanese, Korean, or Chinese Food. read more

Mochi ice cream on sale!? What?! Well, I bought two boxes of green tea mochi ice cream and they were freezer burn. The guy at the customer service gladly took the boxes back and refunded me. Huge Asian supermarket with mostly Korean items. Near the exit is the food court where they have different Asian cuisines, but make no mistake, it's all based on Korean ingredients and flavors. For example, we ordered fried seafood rice from a vendor that specialized in Chinese food. It contained octopus and was flavored heavily in what I think is Gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste). I'm not complaining for it certainly was delicious, but just a heads up for anyone eating here. The bbq Galbi was delicious and enough for two meals! This is a great place to find mainly Korean items, For Chinese and Taiwanese stuff go to GW (Great Wall) Supermarket on Pleasant Hill Rd. I found the prices lower at GW for produce. Also at the exits are boxes where you can put your receipt into. Assi donates 2% of your bill to the church that you pick, pretty cool. read more

The food court here is fantastic. I have frequented almost all vendors, besides Chinese and Peruvian, and each is wonderful. This would get five stars but some of the produce in the grocery isn't always top notch. Besides that, everything has always been fresh. There are quite a few other markets in the area like Mega mart and H-mart but this is my favorite to grab lunch. read more

I used to live nearby this place and always love to come here to eat and shop. People are always friendly and the good is delicious. The grocery here is great, they got more discounted items compared to super h mart. However, all the staff needs to be reorganized, there are a huge amount of old perverted Korean men in the fish section and Mexicans that would not stop staring at you. Even though most of the Asian customers who shop here often do not mind, but it creates such an uncomfortable environment for shoppers. There are plenty of people out there looking for jobs who are pretty decent humans compared to these blokes. read more

This original location is further north on 85. It is less spacious (actually about the size of an H-Mart) and the selection is not as varied. Although, when I went, they were selling green plums. Coolio! I've only previously had this in drink form. Prices were still very competitive, but did not have the WOW factor as the other Assi. This will definitely suffice as the down the street grocery store, but if you have family visiting and want to show them a big asian supermercado, Assi II is better. The food court is smaller, but they seemed to have a good selection of various Asian foods. One thing about this Assi is it's located in a shopping center with (imo) some nice stores, like Hansel and Gretal Bakery. Assi has an online circular you can subscribe to. Unlike other grocers, they no longer offer incentives for major purchases nor did they ever offer reward cards, to my knowledge. read more

My family always prefers this market over h Mart and the other assi. Their food court is better and I think their market is cleaner than the rest. I loooove their food courts Pinnochio for their rice cake , and udon soup, reminds me of my childhood summers in Korea. read more

i've driven by this place every time i visit my brother in suwanee. mostly i just see a bunch of korean alphabet characters and since i can't read korean, i just cruise on by. shame on me!!!! i heard their salmon was really good, so i had to stop by here to pick up a few steaks. this place reminds me of a cleaner version of the ranch market on 44th street in phoenix. it's loaded with tons of veggies....organic? i doubt it which is why i didn't purchase any, however, their seafood section is great. my father loves the salmon steaks. yes, they are farm raised but he's 68 years old and i'm not going to change his mind, so i bought 4 and headed back to tifton. i wanted to get some more groceries but i didn't have a cooler to keep the stuff cool for the 4 hour drive home but it reminded me that when i move back to phx, i will get frozen packs of dumplings which i love. there are a ton of other shops in this plaza, everything from bakeries to salons to tax services, but all in korean signage. if i lived up here, i would frequent this area alot more often! read more

Had dinner at Assi foodcourt tonight. Many people dining - a good sign. I got the seafood noodle soup which was worth waiting a few minutes for. Full of shrimp mussels and squid. Huge serving! It was hot perfectly spiced and delish. My mate got spicy tofu udon and mixed tempura from a different kiosk. It was too spicy to finish and the tempura was good. It was a nice experience if you want to try something different, its a blend of many different asian styles. read more

Great selection of Asian & local produce and prices are very reasonable. Where else can you buy 5 bunches of Cilantro for a dollar? They have the best selection of sea food in the area and every week one or the other fish variety is on sale so you can stock up. Shrimp, crabs and lobsters are fresh and very reasonably priced. They also have a food court with about 6 or 7 independent shops offering traditional Korean, chinese and japanese dishes. Lately the produce quality has come down a bit and green leafy vegetable are not as fresh as I would like them to be so they are not getting a four star rating. The place is nice and clean but parking is hard to find at this strip mall. read more

The market itself is not as nice as it used to be. It's not as nice as Buford hwy farmers market or Hmart but this particular location is nicer than their other location off pleasant hill road. Woah!!! I feel like I have discovered a new world!!! Well, actually it's thanks to Tulie L., who invited me to have lunch at this magical place. All of the food in the food court look delicious and it's super cheap!! I only had one dish from one of the vendors but you can be sure that I will be back here often to try the other ones. The market is very impressive as well. There is a huge selection of everything Asian with a dash of the usual stuff. I live in Buford and I gladly drive pass SuperH Mart on Lawrenceville Suwannee because ASSI has great prices and always things on sale. They are a lot cleaner than the Pleasant Hill location and sit in a nicer plaza. It's easily accessible from 85/316/Satellite/Duluth/Buford so extra star there. It's always on my way home from work so I drop by, in and out in 20 minutes. I save Kroger/Walmart for my "American" food items. read more

This is a smaller version of the one on pleasant hill. The seafood is not nearly as fresh as the other location. The pleasant hill location is a solid 10 minutes further so that's 20 minutes driving alone but worth it to get fresher seafood. I still rather come to assi than H Mart on Suwannee. read more

I live right by this Assi, and it's one of my favorite grocery stores in Duluth! The entire plaza is Korean, and I go to Hansel & Gretel (the bakery) at least once a week (Mozart is there too, but there selections are quite limited in comparison). If I'm in the mood to spend less than 5 bucks for lunch, I go to the Assi food court (odeng on a stick and kimbap, prease~) or My Favorite Chicken (amajing KFC + goguma pizza)! read more

Very Bad Customer Service, I've purchased grocery and they charged me double for one item that I bought. When I got home and check the receipt, I called assi Plaza customer service spoke with Park and Anna, they said they had check it on video camera and the apologize and promised will return my money. I just need to come back anytime to get the refund. This morning, I went to customer service, they won't refund my money until they check thru the video camera. The guys name Raymond. This is ridiculous ,I spent my gas and waste my time. I WILL NOT BUY AGAIN AT ASSI PLAZA. read more
