I also got a can of coke zero ($1) The beef bulgogi was a decent serving, had a slightly sweet flavor, and was cooked with onion, carrots, scallions, cabbage. It was also garnished with sesame seeds. The glass noodles were warm, soft and freakin' delicious! These are quickly becoming one of my favorite banchan. These noodles were also cooked with onion, carrots and garnished with sesame seeds. The fried potato was admittedly pretty flavorless. There was also another fried thing underneath it, but I wasn't quite sure what it was. It's flavor was also....flavorless...so yea, not my favorite. The soup was good! Not ridiculously salty like others i've tried, and really hit the spot with finishing my meal. I did not try the kimchee. Parking is shared in the Assi Lot, so you'll never have an issue with finding a spot. Seating is also shared in the food court, but i've also never seen the food court slammed either, so spots should be plentiful. Customer service is just great, and flavors are pretty solid. A large was basically $5 more and I believe the owner said it included two or three more pieces of oxtail. I like that they include butter beans in their recipe because many Jamaican restaurants do not. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] As with most places that sell oxtails these days, I don't think you get enough meat for your money. Most of the weight comes from the large quantities of rice and the bone of the oxtail itself. Pound for pound you are getting very little meat for your money. Asian Market is located on the corner of Hurricane Shoals and West Pike. You won't see it from the street because it is hidden behind Pancake House. You would not think there's a continuing strip of building there. A lot of stores are run down or abandon. It's been years since I've been there, I knew exactly where it was since I used to live in Lawrenceville. Since the cousin didn't know, I decided to go and it's exactly the same as I remember. It IS very small. But hey, they have what I need to make my papaya salad. They have few small aisles. I did see movies for sale and rent too. So old school. Credit cards are accepted. Minimum of $10 You do not know how happy I am to finally find the Pantainorasingh Brand of Black Crab Paste. Okay, I lied, I was able to find it at Winder Oriental Market, which is Hmong own. There is never a store that I can get everything I want. Even chain stores don't all carry the same products. Honestly, I felt really bad for not going to Atlanta Asian Foods in a long time. Before Hong Kong Supermarket or Nam De Mun in Lilburn, the two that I frequently shop for Asian ingredients opened up, I used to go to Atlanta Asian Foods. I've known about this hidden gem over a decade ago. It's well hidden, well, not hidden but honestly, you would never know it is a store. It's located right off Jimmy Carter between Buford Highway and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. It's actually a warehouse that sells products to restaurants. Over a decade ago, I used to work in the Peachtree Corners area. I would see Atlanta Asian Foods driving by but I didn't think anything because it looks nothing like a store, it's besides other businesses like Concentra and a Title/Floor warehouse so I never thought anything. One day, I was bored during lunch and decided to drop by inside. I mean, there is an OPEN sign, so it's okay to go in, right? Since it's in a warehouse facility, there are NO fresh fruits nor veggies. There are dishes, rice, lots of ingredients, drinks, what you would find at typical Asian supermarkets. However, there is a frozen section with whatever you can get. It reminds me of the old school Asian small mom-pop stores that used to exist before the big chain Asian supermarkets like Hong Kong, Nam De Mun, or Super H slowly conquered and wiped out the mom-pop Asian stores. The difference with Atlanta Asian Foods is like what was mentioned, it's a warehouse so they have lots of products. Yes, you can get some of these from the big chain Asian supermarkets now but the ingredients that I'm particularly looking for are only located here. I've searched. To me, they have more Lao/Thai products. My mom has talked to the owner and told me that they are Vietnamese who lived in Laos for many years. My parents can speak Lao, Thai, Hmong, and English. Unfortunately, I can only speak Hmong and English. Next time, I'm prepping to cook a dish, I'm going to make sure to head straight to Atlanta Asian Foods first to stock up on ingredients.
