Chicken Hibachi Bento Box
Chandrika R.

Came for lunch on work day. The food was tasty and fast. The Rangoon was full of crab and made fresh as was the hibachi. Everything is made fresh to order as you can see it being made. The portions are huge so be ready to take leftovers. Will def be back!

Saw the good reviews and decided to swing by for a quick bite. Service was nice and fast. The worker was happy to break down the menu for us. We tried the chicken teriyaki bento box which comes with two sides and also the chicken teriyaki plate which comes with rice. The chicken was nice and tender and their teriyaki sauce was savory but but as salty as a lot of other fast Japanese food places. I love that they have a lot more side options than most places like seaweed salad and gyozas. Everything was ready within 5 minutes. I would definitely come back for a quick hibachi style bite. It to goes well and the portions are large for prices under $10. I noted other recent reviews. The register worker was wearing a mask but the chef was not.

I got the 2 entree deal with shrimp & chicken teriyaki and it was delicious. I also ordered a shrimp tempura roll and that was great too. The time I went there was only one other customer there so the food was prepped and ready in no time. Definitely will pass by again when I'm in the area.

This place is a hidden gem in terms of the amount of food you get and quality. For around $11 you can get the chicken bento box containing a ton of teriyaki chicken with fried rice, 2 sides, and 4 California rolls. The quality is only slightly lower than that of more expensive sit down Japanese restaurants that offer similar bento boxes, but they usually cost 2x the price and give 1/3 less food. I honestly get 2 meals out of it usually. It's been one of my main go to spot post gym workouts for years.

Extreme Teriyaki is a good inexpensive spot to grab quick hibachi when you are short on time. I stopped in on my lunch break since I was working in the area and ordered the chicken teriyaki it came with a choice of steamed or fried rice. I like being able to see my food get prepared which is a nice addition. The portion size was really good for the amount of money. I wasn't able to eat it all so I had leftovers for dinner. The food was really good especially the yum yum sauce. I would definitely recommend & return.

So, I was in Alpharetta for a doctor's appointment and was looking for something quick for lunch. They had a 5 star rating and it was close to the doctor's office so I decided to try them out. Outside of the establishment, there was a sign for their lunch special today which was $5 for teriyaki chicken. Of course, since this was my first time trying this I decided to go for the cheap meal. When you open the door your nostrils are hit with an amazing aroma! The cooking has this restaurant smelling wonderfully. I was super excited. I ordered and my food was ready within a few minutes. I was there for a few moments before I realized my chicken was almost gone. The order was definitely plentiful and I took some to go for my boyfriend to have a taste. This food was simply delicious. Definitely give them a try. *disclaimer... I rarely eat hibachi and haven't been to a real hibachi restaurant so this reminds me of mall food but it was good nonetheless.

My Bento box (clockwise): dumplings, California roll, seaweed salad and salmon (topped with mushrooms) on fried rice (soy sauce only)

They could be classified as a "hole-in-the-wall" but I prefer to call them the newest secret. We really enjoyed their Bento boxes! I had salmon (topped with mushrooms), fried rice (it does not have vegetables - just soy sauce), dumplings and seaweed salad. Each Bento box comes with 4 pieces of California roll sushi, as well! Normally California rolls can bore me - just because they're so common - but these were very good with extremely sticky rice! The person I ate with had chicken teriyaki with fried rice, seaweed salad and edamame. The chicken was well cooked and the portions were well balanced. Overall, the prices were great for just two people. We will certainly be ordering from them again!

This restaurant had many positive reviews on Yelp, I had to try it! We originally found it on Scoutmob ($5.00 off your meal). I looked up the menu before going there and was surprised to see the prices so low. I started to wonder about the quality of the ingredients they used. When we were looking at the menu inside the restaurant, we noticed the prices were slightly different and higher than what we saw online (but not by much). We started with the Crab Rangoons which were a low price of $1.99 for four pieces. How is it that cheap? They were actually very good! For the main dish, I had the Hibachi Chicken which came with rice (fried or steamed) and a veggie mix (cabbage, carrots, and broccoli). The veggie mix and rice were pretty good but the chicken was not as good. I could barely eat it! The texture tasted like you were eating a chunk of gum. It was processed. I actually ordered the Hibachi Chicken (chicken breast) as opposed to the Teriyaki Chicken (Chicken Thigh) because I thought it would be leaner meat. When the cook put the meat on the grill, it looked normal but I couldn't chew it. If you're looking for a snack, for example, spring rolls or crab rangoons, then this would be the place for you. For the price, you can't beat it. I don't advise the chicken in the meals though. I was disappointed.

It's a small restaurant but the nostalgia of the interior cannot be denied. And it turned out some of the staff are from Hawaii too so it just adds to the warm, friendly atmosphere you can expect from a place like this. As for the food, just as good and impressive. My dad and I had their chirashi or rice with different seafood varieties and my mom had one of their teishoku or combination plates. They said it's a sushi restaurant but I guarantee they have more than that at Tanaka. If you decide to try it, which I recommend you do, call and make a reservation because unfortunately you can't do it online and it's a small restaurant so it's better to call ahead of time anyway. Once you try this terrific restaurant, it's worth it!

Don't judge this place by its exterior. The inside is absolutely beautiful--homey, welcoming, and…read moresurprisingly refined. There are so many thoughtful little details in the décor that make it feel special. Every server and staff member was genuinely kind and impressively hospitable, offering a level of service that honestly surpasses some higher-end restaurants I've been to. Now, the food. Their ginger salad might be the best I've ever had. They use romaine and green leaf lettuce instead of the typical iceberg, which gives it far more flavor and texture. The dressing was smooth and creamy--not broken, watery, or overly acidic like so many ginger dressings tend to be. The miso soup also had more depth of flavor than most versions I've tried. A bonus surprise: they have more lunch options than what's listed online, and the in-person prices are actually cheaper. So don't rely on the website--come in and look for yourself. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and sushi roll combo. They offer a generous selection of rolls to choose from, and I went with the Alaskan roll. The filling was plentiful and well-balanced. The rice on the outside was slightly thin in a few bites where the seaweed peeked through, but the overall flavor was excellent. The chicken teriyaki was outstanding--juicy, tender, perfectly seared, and full of rich teriyaki flavor. I also appreciated the unexpected cold bean sprout salad on the side, which added a nice contrast to the meal. Overall, this was a wonderful lunch at a very fair price--only $15. I'd happily return and highly recommend stopping in rather than making assumptions based on appearances or online listings.

When I first had their ramen that's all I could think about when we visited Atl. After moving in the area and having this on a random Tuesday night idk what it was but I got their spicy kimchi ramen and my husband got their tonkotsu ramen and it lacked flavor. I asked for spicy Sichuan pepper sauce on side and all it was doing with a tiny bit in my ramen was making my tongue tingle the whole time. It kind of ruined my appetite. I had this better and not sure why that happened. I was charged extra without being informed of this and I gave her the whole sauce back after telling the server about this. I just like being informed of what I will be charged extra for, that's all. Anyways, overall did not appreciate this location at all.

My Crispy Chicken Rice Burger was quite hard to eat without it falling apart and eating it layer by layer. The Thai Iced Tea was pretty good and so was a Purple Sweet Potato Fries. The Omurice was also good but lacking great as well as the Yinyang bowl. Overall my expectations were not met but glad I got to check out this popular franchise.

The decor and atmosphere really make you feel like you've been transported to a lively izakaya in Japan--it's the perfect spot for sharing a wide variety of small plates. The Tapas & Kitchen: * Ankimo (Monkfish Liver): This was a standout. It was prepared perfectly--rich, velvety, and a great start to the meal. * Grilled Highlights: The kitchen really excels with the grill. The chicken skin is crispy and decadent, and the chicken liver is another major hit--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. * Seafood Favorites: My wife absolutely loved the steamed clams, and the grilled oysters were a hit as well. The octopus salad was also very fresh and well-balanced. The Sushi Bar: * Fish Selection: The quality and variety here are impressive. We ordered a mix of rolls and nigiri, including scallop, sweet shrimp, and tuna maki. * Quality: Every piece of fish was notably fresh. The only minor critique was the sushi rice--it was a bit dry for my personal taste, but the quality of the seafood more than made up for it. * Snail (Tsubugai): It's great to see more unique options like snail on the menu; it's a nice touch for those who appreciate traditional Japanese variety. The Experience: The menu is huge and well-rounded, offering something for everyone. Despite being our first time, the service was efficient and the pricing felt very fair for the quality and portion sizes provided.

We wanted some ketchup for the fries but the server never came back after dropping off our entrees, so my husband had to get up to ask for some, then he brought the smallest container I've ever seen, for 2 people to share. While the food was pretty good, the unattentive service put a damper on the outing. Even just to get our check we had to get up a third time to track down the server. The food is ok but not worth the disappointing service, especially if you are not in the area.
