This hurts my heart: I've lived in the neighborhood of the Publix at Castleberry and Bethlview before the store was built. I've been in the store more times than I can remember and raised my son on some of Ester's Publix Apron recipes. It has been a good relationship until October 2, 2025 when one of the store managers, Mark forgot the basic principle for Publix. The Publix Promise is rooted in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and transparency. FAILED Immediate Resolution: Pricing mistakes are resolved on the spot, eliminating the need for customers to return to customer service for corrections. FAILED (Check the tape and see exactly how long I waited and how long it took for Mark to come and dismiss me) Customer Empowerment: Cashiers are trained to handle pricing discrepancies efficiently, ensuring that customers feel valued and respected. FAILED (Mark missed a training opportunity) The cashier, whose name I withhold out of respect for age and lack of experience, was not the one who devalued me and disrespected me; that was all on the manager Mark. I can only assume that he felt the cashier told him everything he needed to know, thus dismissing me as an interruption to his day. Sadly, he hasn't a clue. We're all entitled to a bad day, so I'm hoping it's just that and not a sign of things to come at my neighborhood Publix. I was there before Mark came and will probably be there when he leaves. If today is any indication of things to come...it won't be long. I was intentionally vague because I'm convinced Mark is still clueless as to exactly what happened. I know this for a fact because I was actually trying to help. Please spare me any copy-and-paste or prearranged apologies and explanations. You can also keep your store credit or gift card. This wasn't a money grab, simply a paying customer offering feedback as a gift so that Publix can get back on track. I waited at least 15 minutes for Mark to leave me shaken and disturbed. It could have been handled so much better. If this is Mark's persona, and Mark is the standard for customer service at Publix - God help us all! In general this Publix is very good and it's my go to grocery store; but BEWARE in the refrigerated meat department! For the second time in about a month, I have come across expired packaged meat! The first time it was one month expired Lil Smokies, which I bought to make appetizers for the 4th of July. I brought it to the attention of the Service Desk. Then last week, I returned a package of hot dogs, which I had bought a couple of days earlier and still had the receipt. I was refunded and package was still. unopened. The use by date was June 2025. Yesterday I was going to purchase some hot dogs and saw the "use by" date was February 2025, The package behind it was the same use by date. For the 3rd time I was back at the Service Desk to point out the problem in the refrigerated Meat section. All I'm saying is check the packaging for expiration dates even if they aren't easy to locate. read more

I must say the difference in this Publix and a newer one on Matt Hwy is worth my extra miles there to get subs for the road. This Castleberry location makes me stand there waiting forever while they slice meat and ignore. They often don't have the multigrain bread available and the raw uncooked bacon and the meat portions are often not enough to even cover both ends of the bread. The prices have gone crazy as well. I'm spending 20 bucks to leave with a turkey sub, chips and a bottled tea. This is unrealistic for the low quality and quantity we get. The lackluster service sometimes leaves me thinking I'll never be back, I've decided to go by Matt Hwy Publix tomorrow to guarantee friendly, chipper and happy ladies serving me. And a manager who seems to be hovering the area and complimenting and praising these ladies when they make a customer like me happy. Plus I'm in and out of there before my car cools off. The days of the Pub sub being king is fading. Same for the Sharon Rd location which has declined also. Throw away the sub buns that come out small, thin or pointed on one end. That is NOT a sub, it's a pencil. Make a bag of chips cost less, provide cheap large fountain drinks. Get this meal down to 12-13 dollars. Smile at the customer and look them in the eye. read more

I just found out after I purchased laundry detergent as well antacids that I overpaid by 30-50%. My wife pulled up the Kroger app and the same items were 30-50% less! This is very disturbing. We are being over charged by a huge margin! read more

Went to Publix today for their boho on chicken breast. Got home realized was charged full price. Drove back and was told they weren't when there was a sign in the meat department and it was on my Publix app as well. So needless to say no chicken. This is why I shop elsewhere. read more

This is a great Publix. Accessible location, plenty of parking, and great service! It's a very busy Publix, despite having competition across the street. I don't think I've ever been here on a slow day. The store is clean. The produce and seafood are always fresh. The bakery and deli have a great selection of pastries and sandwiches. The shelves are organized and well stocked. It's easy to find items. If I am not able to locate an item, their staff is always ready and willing to help! We ordered my son's birthday cake here last year. He wanted a Fornite cake but due to copyright restrictions, they were not able to make anything that had Fortnite on it. Instead, we agreed for them to make a "grass" cake and I used Fornite toppers that I purchased elsewhere. Turned out great! read more

March 16, 2022 RE:  The store manager 5475 Bethelview Rd, Cumming, GA 30040 Good afternoon, My name is Sheree, and I am Coca Cola Vender who has been to this location twice on a Wednesday, when the receivers are off work. I can only assume based on the attitude of the manager that checked me in today that he doesn't like checking in orders. The 1st time that I visited this location I greeted the manager that has dark brown hair with a "good morning" but did not receive a response. His mood was not good. I visit 30-45 different Publix stores and I never have a problem with my check in process unless the other party is in a bad mood or just has a bad attitude for whatever reason. When I visit Publix, because the orders are usually large, I rely on basic communication to efficiently get through the check-in process. Every store that I visit does their checking process differently, for example some receivers like to check in each item in order as it is on the invoice, other receivers like to check in their orders with the pallet sheets, and finally other receivers like to check in the products in bulk with an overall total. So today when I came into the store, the manager appeared to be very rude as he did not greet me upon my arrival. I brought in four pallets off my truck. I put two pallets in the store, I put two outside the store on the deck. As you may know this process takes time. This order also had returns as well so I proceeded to the back to retrieve the returns to bring them to the front of the store so that he could scan them, during the process of all this stuff happening, the store manager started to check in the products while I did my other duties. The store manager never provided specific instructions as to what and how, he wanted me to do things, he didn't say anything. Unfortunately, I'm not able to read minds. So, when it came time to close the invoice, he made the remark to me and I quote "FYI, you're supposed to be standing there helping me count the products, this is the second time with me that you did not help. My response was, and I quote "well that is not true I specifically remember standing next to you while I helped count on my last visit. The problem was you had an attitude problem at that time This is why I can remember the event so well!! If you wanted me to do something specific all you had to do was come to me and communicate how you wanted me to do it, you're the manager I'm just the driver!" Then he goes on to say he's going to contact my manager because the manager will be in the store later. I quickly let him know that that was no problem, I said I can contact the manager for you because it's no problem at all. I am very confident in my work ethic. I told him that I go to many Publix I don't ever have a problem and the problem is most definitely HIM!! I will not take being treated that way and talked down to like I'm not doing my job. Oh, and, he looked me dead in my face and said I don't have to communicate anything to you! So, the whole purpose of my long letter is to say that if you have a manager working at Publix that refuse to communicate with the people that he meets he's not really a manager. the whole basis of business is on communication. if you don't have communication, you have nothing. and unfortunately, I think that's what you got when you hired him! read more

I typically don't review grocery stores, but I such a terrible experience with their bakery recently, I feel it's appropriate. I called Friday morning and asked if I could order a customized cookie cake same day. Jill in the bakery put me on hold to find out. Yes, she said. No problem. Great! She took all of my requests and I hung up, thinking I would be getting what I ordered. I called again at lunch -- about an hour later -- wanting to change the time I asked to originally pick the cookie cake up. Because Jill put me on hold to find out, I figured I might should ask before showing up unassumingly. Someone different answered and barked at me that she finished my order 30 minutes ago because SHE had to leave soon. So my cookie cake was ready 30 mins after I ordered it? Why put me on hold to find out if it was ok that I pick it up 6 hours later? Ok - well at least I can pick it up earlier. I was disappointed to see, upon arrival, that 2 names were misspelled on the cake. When I asked that they change AT LEAST one of them (add an 'I' to the end of Nicki), I got a heavy sigh. 15 minutes later, an 'i' was sloppily added, and walked out with my still-misspelled cake, not having time to stay and fix the other. Why should I have? I ordered the cake and spelled everything verbatim. The kicker to me was that I looked on the order, and everything was spelled correctly on it. I guess miss "I have to leave early" was in a bit of a rush. I understand that mistakes happen, but I've never had 2 misspellings on a $14 cookie cake. Never using this bakery again. read more

I shop here for a wide variety of items, but come mainly for their meat, seafood and vegetables. They are fresh and kept presentable. I would not buy plants here. First off I'm forced to shop this location because my wife likes it for some crazy reason. I'm writing this review only because I have brought my issues to several different managers attention but apparently it falls on def ears!!!! First off the meat counter is so bad it's near impossible to get them to cut you something it's always well isn't it out on the shelf uh no I wouldn't have asked if it was so start cutting. When a certain item is on sale guaranteed the have little to none on the shelf. Chicken sales.......sorry we are out of chicken. Chicken looks very dark that arrived today oh that's cause it's frozen well why is it frozen package says fresh Never frozen oh that well it's not frozen it's chilled lol lol. Not sure why the deli slicers are there doesn't matter how you ask for a slice they cut it however they feel they want too. There are some very nice employees in this store but if I'm going to spend 600-800 a week in your store I expect far better quality especially since Publix says they are more expensive because they have great quality and service. I love Publix. I shop at 2-3 grocery stores each week but Publix is my staple. It helps that they are the closest to my house. What helps the most is how clean the store is, how helpful the staff is and how great their selection of food is. They also run great BOGO deals every week and they accept competitor's coupons. and they double manufacturer's coupons. They are almost too helpful sometimes with the carry out service. Some baggers force their society on you when may very well just want to be on your own. Also they have a very limited number of cart return areas in the parking lot. I over look these few things and consider Publix my number one choice for party trays, cookie cakes, subs and regular grocery shopping. read more

This Publix is very nice and clean, and I do my shopping here quite often because of its convenient location. On the other hand, I had a very bad experience with the deli department a couple days ago. I waited in line for about 10 minutes because there was a lady in front of me with a very large order. When another employee finally came to help me, he was very rude. He acted like my small order of some turkey breast was the biggest, most complicated order he had all morning. He mumbled when he asked if I wanted anything else, and I did not hear him so when I asked him to repeat himself he did so in a very rude, condescending tone. I was in a hurry that morning, or I would have definitely spoken with a manager about that employee's behavior. It was completely unacceptable and did not "make shopping a pleasure" that morning. regarding your deli. my sub was not ready at 1pm, so I looked around the store for a little bit and checked back. finally walked over to the deli to ask about it at 1:10, they sent me to customer service. Customer service was great and very helpful. She radioed the deli and they said they just finished, so I went back to get it. paid left, luckily I work close because when I got to work it was completely wrong. not one veggie on there that I asked for and 4 things I didn't ask for, and my slip said my exact order. so I walked back over to return it, said they would remake it but when I got there there was a line and 2 people waiting for their online order. I understand if they don't have enough employees working at the deli. if so, turn off pick up order. I wasted my lunch and left with a bag of chips. Worst deli staff you have ever seen. Please do yourself a favor and go to the brand new Kroger right across the street. We will never be back to this location. I was less than impressed with the service I got today. They weren't particularly busy, but when I stopped by to get a simple sandwich from the deli department, they didn't have enough staff on, and those who were on repeatedly passed my by. Although someone pretty quickly told me that they would be with me shortly, it was at least another 5-10 minutes before someone was able to do so. Only after someone was already helping me did an employee ask if there was anything he could do to be of assistance. There's 2 things I like about Publix...their Publix brand ice cream is the best, its dense and not airy like other brands, and every carton is a true half gallon unlike other brands that are 1 1/2 quarts. So when I'm in the mood for root beer floats, Publix Vanilla Ice cream is the best. Which is the second reason I like Publix...my Ingles store doesn't carry the the full line of store brand sodas in every diet flavor, aka I can't get Ingles Root Beer in Diet. Why for? Who knows. Ran in after work to pick up salad, bread, crystal lite, coffee Diet Coke. There was no publix brand salad (my husbands must have). No coffee (Starbucks medium blend NON decaf). I did get the Diet Coke and bread. Didn't see any crystal lite punch -no biggee. Get in line I'm asked "did you find everything OK?" I mentioned there were a couple of things I did not find (again no bigger). Greys Anatomy couldn't have done better it was like code red!!! Managers stock workers were running bringing me items. I really love this Publix. As supermarkets go in this area this location is tops. The store is clean and well organized, and the employees are helpful and friendly. My 1 year old daughter has a blast here, she gets a free Publix balloon and rides around in a rocket ship shopping cart. This Publix has gone above and beyond for me and my family. A great shopping experience and top notch customer service. My wife and I only shop at this Publix because they carry a decent selection of gluten free foods (as my wife is a Celiac) and they also are on the way home from work for me. Also, During my wife's pregnancy they always assisted in getting her groceries into the car. Their staff of butchers are very polite and never hesitate to help. This review is about the Publix Pharmacy only in the Castleberry store at the intersection with Bethelview. We love the store and their staff, but not so much the pharmacy. Last year I received a pneumonia shot from Rebecca, one of the pharmacists. She is very personable and caring. She called a few days ago and reminded me I need the second shot in the series, and said to come in - that it would only take a few minutes. She was not in when I stopped, and instead came face-to-face with a woman pharmacist with the worse disposition ever! She was rude, didn't say hello, acted put-out, and was condescending when asking for my name. I have Medicare and a supplemental plan, which they have on file. Didn't matter. They shoved a full page document at me to fill out (again) which apparently is intended to protect them from liability, not the patient. After 10 minutes of fumbling, they asked if I had to shop - which I did - and they said to come back in 5 to 10 minutes. When I returned they said I should go check out and come back. I did. They were still fumbling, looking for the 'group number' for medicare to bill the shot. Now I never have difficulty. It seems that Publix' internal billing system needs a group number to proceed. So, after another 5 minutes of no communication from the pharmacist, a new face (pharmacy technician0 came to me and asked what kind of insurance I have. Doesn't she read? She was so inexperienced that I became defensive and angry. At this point it was 25 minutes since I entered the store, and now they were on the phone with their headquarters asking how to bill medicare for my shot. News Flash - YOU CALLED ME! Don't you think you would have your people and systems trained by now to handle a simple medicare paid shot for a retired person? Anyway, at the half hour mark I had to leave, so I asked for my cards. The lady just looked at me and said nothing, so I had to say firmly, "Now!". They said they were going to call my insurance company (????). I said forget it - I'll go somewhere else. As I was leaving the rude pharmacist shouted, "Have a good day sir." You should go somewhere else for drugs. Not this Publix - unless you see the name Rebecca on the name tag. She is a professional. The rest of them need training and a personality. read more
