We tried looking at the pad in front but it was tedious to read so he invited me to come around and look at the register. As I am going through the purchases a big dude in regular clothes approach me and says you need to move from behind the register. Mind you it's me, my wife and two kids. I tell the guy what, who are you he doesn't explain but proceed to tell me to move from behind the register. The nice cashier doesn't say who the guy was so I assumed we were in danger at this point. Not knowing at the time I was behind the register he walked up and stuck his arm out against my wife before approaching me. Long story short we argued back and forth before he said he's security and when I asked for a manager he said there isn't one and walked off and literally disappeared. An over night manager came out after over hearing the arguing and he apologized but he didn't seem to be trained properly for a manager. But he told me the guy was AP. I'm not sure why he felt the need to approach us the way he did but I will be reaching out to their corporate team and their regional/VP regarding him putting his arm on my wife and this whole ordeal. The situation escalated, and another employee appeared visibly upset, which added to my frustration. Fortunately, a supervisor eventually resolved the issue and processed my exchange, but the overall experience left me feeling disrespected. I just opening up the belk credit card last July, however, I will close the account now. I don't want to come back to any Belk anymore. I hope Belk invests in better training for their staff to ensure customers receive the service they deserve.
