Belk is the worst company! Their locations are dirty. On August 10, I shopped at Macy's and Belk's. Belk's billed due date was September 5th. Not even a month later where Macy's was the 15th. I paid Belk's on the 6th and they still charged me a $29 late fee. Today, September 14th I went online when I saw $1 interest and late fee. Belk's also charges a monthly fee for paper bill. Yesterday, August 16th, my wife and I drove nearly an hour to the Mall of Georgia for an enjoyable day shopping and eating. Once there, and having eaten lunch, the first store we went to was Belk. After half an hour of picking out and trying on clothes, we decided to make some purchases. We waited in line at the register located in the clothes department. The line was long and moving very slowly so we decided to look for another register. The only other one that had an employee working it was in the shoe department so we went to that one. There were two other customers in front of us so we got in line. This is when we encountered Beth, the one employee who sucked the joy out of our day much like Dracula would suck the blood from the neck of a virgin. It was obvious, even from a distance, that Beth hasn't smiled once since 1984. She quickly saw we had clothes and not shoes and told us to go to the other register. We explained why we were in line in the shoe department and she replied with, "Well, if someone needs help with shoes, I have to help them first." I don't know if it was possible for her to make this statement with any more disgust than she did, but I wouldn't be surprised. We continued to wait while she handled the two customers in front of us. Once it was our turn, Beth picked up four boxes of shoes and said, "I have to restock these." At that point, she took the boxes and walked away leaving us standing there as paying customers with no service. Fortunately, a younger employee soon walked up. She was polite and professional which wasn't hard to do considering Beth set the bar for customer service so low the devil could have used it for a limbo party. After our much superior service with this other employee was complete, we left feeling like our day had been wasted driving so far. In the end, if Beth loves her shoes more than paying customers, then she needs to stay in the back to restock and organize the boxes like she's a Tetris fanatic instead of dealing with the public. It would be great if someone could speak with her about the severe lack of care she demonstrates. read more

Thank goodness for the stores that have managed to stay open in spite of the difficulty that Covid has caused businesses everywhere. Although stores have less merchandise now and difficulty getting workers, some have done a good job at using what they have to help shoppers. This is one. Merchandise: 5/5 The clothing and housewares departments where I shopped had their merchandise nicely displayed. Clothes were easy to find by size. Prices: 5/5. Maybe I was lucky, there were lots of items with great sale prices -many at 50% and some at 70% off ! Personnel:5/5 Although there are fewer people to assist now, the sales personnel we encountered were consistently pleasant and helpful. Facility : This store is not new, but it is clean and well organized. Aisles are generally comfortably large. The restrooms were clean and well stocked. There are plenty of parking places in this mall. The personnel I saw wore masks. Shoppers didn't wear masks usually. We will return here. read more

Have to give this 5 stars for my mom. Since I'm the designated driver , I have a smaller wheelchair to get through the packed isles and it works great! Mom is belk junkie. Always has been. Now at 82, she finds what she wants from pants and shoes to purses and stuff!!! So much stuff!! Pots and pans, bedding this is her place. Cumming or buford , she likes them both. She has a Belks card, every belk coupon, I think they owe her money after she shops!! Really, good selection, makes her happy, then I'm happy. Big place! read more

I've dealt with an associate named Dewing in the shoe area as well as the mens department today and I must say he brings the style and energy to this store , I know because I've been a belk rewards member for 25 years and it's always been sort of boring place but wonderful selections and clothing I'm actually excited to know I'm returning for my confidence and energy booster. read more

IT HELPS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO! When it comes to department stores, all is not rosy. However, I have come to understand that you simply have to know how to shop in order to have the best possible experience. When it comes to women's clothing, I feel as if they just throw the dollar store clothing in with everything else so you really have to shop the collections or specific labels. Back in the day you could literally just shop the entire store because all items were quality. Today that is just not the case and you really have to be aware of fabrics, construction and details. Most importantly, you really have to know if you are actually getting a sale or just getting the fair market value over those exaggerated "pre-sale" prices. When it comes to men's clothing, I really like this particular Belk because they have a nice selection of items ranging from colorful vests and jackets, dress and casual options and plenty of accessories. They aren't afraid of color and less conservative choices and I can always find something for my men. We recently stopped in to purchase some basic items for my husband and the majority of the men's department appeared to be on sale. This wasn't that "End of the year" left over or just that "Rack over there" sale. This included nice items that you actually want to purchase and even new spring arrivals. This particular Belk is best suited for the independent shopper who knows exactly what they need because it is always lightly staffed with only one employee. I have been shopping Belk long enough that I can shop for my husband in his absence and I easily get it right. This was a great experience and we found exactly what we needed! read more

THE WORST SERVICE EVER. Lana screamed and disrespected me all because I asked for a price check... She yells at me saying why don't I check the price myself under the price check machine and I told her they were all turned off and she begins yelling and being disrespectful! So of course I yelled back, why are you going to yell at a PAYING costumer?! I then asked for a manger and she started apologizing. But that does not change the fact of the way I was attended today. The employees here are extremely rude and not friendly at all UNLESS you're a straight white man or woman. Extremely unhelpful, get annoyed at your simple questions, and also homophobic: My friend was helping a friend in the ladies dressing room, and when he was asked to leave, it was by a lady YELLING at him telling him to "get out" instead of POLITELY asking. He continued to walk out of the dressing room, and even when sitting OUTSIDE, he was told to "step even further away." What type of DISGUSTINGLY rude people... smh. read more

I truly wish I could give Belk SIX stars. I shop all the time (guilty pleasure) and Belk is, by far, the BEST department store in the metro Atlanta area. The MOG store is exceptional! Great selection, great sales, quality merchandise and the customer service that is truly outstanding. I was recently in another major department store (which shall remain unnamed but begins with an "M") and kept thinking to myself "Boy, this place is so subpar compared to Belk!" I've been shopping at this Belk for many years. The majority of my Christmas shopping is done here. Today I went to the store to return a necklace that I received as a birthday present. It's a lovely necklace but unfortunately, it did not fit well. When the sales associate in fine jewelry pulled the item up on her register, she noted that it was purchased at another location - in another state. She immediately pick up the phone and called - what I assume was a manager. After the phone conversation, she put the necklace back in the bag and came back to me and said that they would not be able to take the necklace back because the tag was removed and I purchased it at another store. She wanted to be sure that I understood that because that tag was off they would not be able to reattach it and since I didn't buy it in this store - they would lose revenue and "it was not their revenue to lose" - it was the other stores. But if I had I bought it at their store they would have been able to "override" it and take it back. I was a bit stunned but didn't say anything to the associate as it was not her decision. I left the store and called to speak with a store manager - I was told that they didn't know how to transfer me to the manager but if I called back I could just enter 210 and get today's manager....so I did. Reba then answered the phone and I explained the situation to her. She proceeded to tell me that this was their policy and she would not override it - again this $300 in revenue was not received by this store. So I asked, if the $300 in revenue worth losing all of the revenue from my future purchases - she quickly said "yes, it is". So DO NOT BUY JEWELRY from Belk - if it is a gift - and you take the tags off, you are stuck with it. Mind you the tags were in the box - we did not discard them. And since my future purchases mean nothing to this manager, I will not purchase anything else from this store and I will discourage everyone that I know from purchasing from them....black Friday shopping will never include this store again.....retailers are closing everyday and this is why. If it wasn't for Shelly I wouldve rated this Belks clinique counter a 1. I was patiently waiting while an associate was assisting another customer ..after maybe 10 minutes I realized they were friends chatting it up while Shelly who was actually working finished up with another customer. She greeted me and asked if I needed help-long story short she was a great help and the reason why i am going back to buy a complete set of the mens care line for my son. She told me about a 10 day trial which made a difference in his skin after the first wash...i will call to see if Shelly is there to get credit for the sale before I go. read more

Today Belks has a wonderful sale for Father's Day. I was able to get my husband six pair pants and six Polo shirts for $220. Seriously. They had a sale of buy one pair pants at regular price and get 2 free. Also shirts was buy one at regular price and get 2 free. We saved $420. read more

I started out browsing in the children's department where their clearance racks were pretty picked over, but that was okay. The department was nice and organized and a salesperson promptly greeted me and offered to hold the items I had in my hand. I asked about children's coats and she said they were all gone and she even double checked with another associate. I appreciated the thoroughness, because how many times have you asked a question like this and they say, "whatever you see on the floor is what we have." This extra effort made me want to come back when I had more time. Next I took the escalator up to the Clinique counter for some moisturizer. Since I had not been at the clinique counter in a while, I asked the first person who greeted me there to tell me about any new products. She quickly handed me over to another woman because she didn't know. An older woman with a white bob haircut took over, and even though I was the only customer in the department, she was rushed and hasty, and said here's this cream and that cream. She did not ask me if I was more interested in makeup or cleansers or anything. She did not look up at me the entire time. I like it when a salesperson says oh I have this cool new lipstain, or you willl love this item or that item. She just grabbed the first three things she saw, told me they were new, and said she had no personal experience with the items. I could tell she was going to be of no help, so I said I'd think about it and told her I was ready to pay for my moisturizer. She asked me if I wanted the pink or coral lipstick for my bonus, and I said I don't know, what do you think would look good on me? I expected her to say you'd look good in the pink, or coral goes with your tones, but no, she stayed true and did not answer me or look up at me at all. She was the worst. At the end, she said "your receipt is in the bag" and I cheerfully said thank you and she only looked at me and raised her eyebrows. No "Thank you", no nothing. Ugh.
