My experience here was honestly disappointing. My husband and I came in to buy a perfume, and from the start we felt ignored--likely because we're young. When we finally asked a male employee for help, the first thing he asked was, "Are you going to buy something?" We told him we weren't sure yet and just wanted to smell the perfumes first, which is completely normal. He helped us briefly and then walked away without saying anything. Later, a female employee came to help us, and the male employee returned and whispered something to her. After that, they were just looking at us instead of actually assisting us. In the end, we did purchase a perfume that cost $210, and the product itself is great--but the customer service was terrible. Wanting to try a fragrance before buying does not mean we weren't serious customers. The way we were treated made the experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming. read more

I don't shop at Macy's often. As of now I'll shop even less often. I was in the store a few weeks ago and grabbed something that was marked a few bucks off for clearance. The cashier apparently didn't notice the bright yellow sticker and didn't provide the discount. When I caught it just a few steps away I was told I needed to track down a manager for the price adjustment and acted like I was being dramatic over a few dollars. Today I was walking though and picked up something for my kiddo and walked to a register where the employee looked at me approaching and went into the back, not returning for the few minutes I stood there. Okay. So I walk around and finally find another cashier helping another customer, it's taking a while but I'm OK waiting. I took a call about a minute before the customer before me wrapped up and ended the call as soon as they walked away and the cashier acted like she was irritated that she had to stand there an extra 20 seconds for me to hang up after I'd been standing there at least 6 or 7 minutes. There was nobody else waiting. She asked if I had a Macy's card and I asked if she could look it up, she said no, which I know is not correct. When she was done ringing me out I turned back to her and asked where something was and she got on a cellphone and completely ignored me. I commented in the same tone and volume that wow, Macy's sure has rude staff these days and then she turned and looked directly at me with a stank face so I know she heard me both times. With all of these retailers suffering, I'm surprised employees can act like this and get away with it. read more

I don't go to the mall much, but when I do I have to end up going to Macy's for cologne or the Apple Store. I went to pick up some cologne on this day as I had a $100 gift certificate from Humana that I chose. Long story short I bought the new Armani Code that came out last October. It was 2.5oz and the total cost was $143.00. Basically I just had to come out of pocket $43 for my purchase, Granted it's much more better going to Macy's if you have some type of gift certificate or coupons. This is the only Macys I shop at. I come here about once every two years or so. When you buy gifts here they will give you boxes to wrap them in. For example, I usually buy shirts and pants for gifts and they give you shirt boxes for free to wrap your gifts when you get home. They have all the high end quality name brands here like; Estée Lauder, Ralph Lauren, Polo, Tommy Hilfiger and etc. some vendors like Estée Lauder will wrap your gifts for free here at Macy's. Service was great but no one in store cleaning and zoning up the store. As a result, clothes on the floor, clothes unorganized and tables that badly needed somebody to restock them neatly back on their displays. I never seen so many clothes on the floor as it was like walking through a Dollar General Store or Walmart. Everybody knows they have merchandise fallen on the floor. Do not order furniture from Macy's!!! They will not refund your money if there are any defects. They charge usage fees for the time the furniture is in your home and will not refund delivery fees! I ordered a red sofa and the color was bleeding on my white colored dogs, comforters and pillows. Their customer service department was no help with the issue and advised they cannot stop the fabric color from bleeding. They had no remorse for the damage to my dos and property. They finally scheduled the sofa to be picked but only refunded half of my money! Now I have no sofa and fighting for a refund for the rest of my money so that I can get a new sofa! I went to this Macy's for the umpteenth time on Christmas Eve because I needed last minute gifts for my brothers. I was able to get Levi's for one of them in a weird size(he's super skinny and tall) and jacket for the other. Didn't take so long and I was in and out in minutes even though I had someone in shoes ring up a clothing item because there was not a soul to be found there. The whole area was a disaster though and not too many staff were working but hey, I know retail business is declining for B&M stores and Macy's is ever struggling with the continuous store closings (shade but no shade). read more

While browsing, one of the sales associates gave me the card and stated that it was a new fragrance. Oh man it smelled so freaking good. But since I was there for a purse I said to myself may be next time. We ended up leaving to go have lunch at Red Robin. After eating we passed Macy's again and the same associate was standing outside. I tried to walk past her, but as I was walking I kept smelling the perfume. 5 seconds later I said forget it and made my way back. $134.67 later I am a happy camper.! Never ever again will Macys Mall Of Georgia get a dollar of my hard earned money. I'm sitting in my car after leaving ths store because I just have to express my disbelief in the lack of service in not only from this store but in many retail establishments that wonder why consumers choose to shop from the convenience of their homes and why malls are slowing becoming the dinosaurs of retail shopping. Briefly...my husband and i like Origins products and the Origins store near our home closed last year. So albeit inconvenient, we go to the Origins retail outlet at Macys. This counter rarely ever has anyone with knowledge of the product available, to start and the one associate that has helped and was kind, and would provide trial sizes often, however in this instance because she was not there no one knew anything. 2nd...requested a small sample of a new product, the 'try me' sample jar empty...sorry...okay and she wouldn't open another jar...which she would need to do bc they have sample jars of all products! okay had to wind up going down this enormous mall to the other end to find a sample of this product at Sephora. 3rd...come back to leave Macys all upper level exit doors are closed, metal gate and all. Omg...obviously some security alert, however no communication over the intercom and the associates were clueless and of no assistance. I was however parked right outside of one of those entrances and had to walk once again through this enormous mall around and outside to get to my vehicle. Fast forward...have the product that I came for, next day open it and it has a weird pungent odor...I even let my husband smell to make it wasnt my nose...he said smells old or something. This may have certainly been a quality control issue, however when I came back to Macys to return...I was told its probably just smells different on my skin, and commenced to turn the jar over and shows me a sticker that is supposed to indicate that its brand new. That doesn't mean squat! As I pleasantly informed the associate I have been using the product exclusively for more than 6 years and I know what it smells like...I also never even put it on my skin! Moving forward, after being insulted I still wanted to try another jar of the body cream..sorry they have none, this is more than a week later...okay. do you have the new original skin product moisturizer (that had the empty sample jar last time)...sorry they have none. Okay, now I'm done with this store...completed my return attempted to go back down the escalator to my vehicle...barrier around the down escalator!...once again I cannot conveniently get out of this forsaken store! I ask an associate standing near at the Sunglass hut outlet is there another escalator down or any idea if this will be up soon...knows nothing, however never once said I'm so sorry you may certainly use the ELEVATOR over in the corner here to get to the lower level. assisting a customer, what a novel idea! But. I was not doing the...lets walk around the mall again to get out of this place! This experience continues to show me...retailers that want longevity and profits have to improve their level of service and overall customer experience if they plan to be around in this ever so convenient technology driven world. Finally...in this mall there is one store that delivers this experience, if you want to visit Mall of Georgia and I hope they stay around for the consumers who still enjoy mall/department stores.... I purchased a pair of Adidas tennis shoes from the Macy's website and I had to return them because they were too big. I went to the Mall of Georgia and as I started to talk to the associate, another one jumped in and said the shoes look worn. I told him I purchased them online and that is how I received them and they've never been worn. The shoes were new and clearly not worn. He preceded to keep contracting me and tell me they look dirty and he cannot return them. He was very rude and confrontational and seemed to be there to just make fun of people. I asked him why all of a sudden he jumped in and how is he allowed to speak like that to customers. After few minutes of him telling me the shoes are worn, I asked for a manager. He pointed to the the lady next to him, that witnessed the entire encounter and pretended did not see anything. I told her the whole story again and she said the shoes cannot be returned for the full price because it is over 45 days from the purchase day. I told her that the employee was disrespectful and that is not the way he should talk to customers and she tells me that I have to be respectful!!! I was like what??? I was dealing with the other cashier when he jumped in and try to tell me that the shoes looked worn! And kept going on and on. Where is the respect from him!? How are employers allowed to argue with customers and the manager just sits there with a smile on her face??? I did return them in the end for just few dollars less than what I bought them for but the way they do business and how they treat customers needs some major improvement! Macy's - This is the rude confrontational sales associate at Finish Line in Mall of Ga! He needs some major training - Department Stores Near Me - Buford, Georgia

As a former Macy's employee (Macy's West in L.A. and Guam!), I am a huge fan of the department store. However, having experienced first-hand what it's like to work at Macy's, I have greater expectations of excellent customer service from employees at any of their locations. Macy's at the Mall of Georgia was the first one I ever visited in Georgia and also where I have shopped most frequently since I had moved here several years ago. I primarily shop in the Juniors', Women's, Women's Shoes, and Cosmetics departments at Macy's. I will admit, I am a bargain shopper and get super excited when I find great deals on merchandise. Most people probably wouldn't think of Macy's as having "cheap" clothing, but you can find awesome stuff in their clearance racks if you have the patience to scour through them. Additionally, although it is tough to find smaller shoe sizes (like my size 5) in the clearance section, it's almost as exciting as finding an Easter egg when I do find my size and they are actually nice! This Macy's is generally neat and fairly well-organized, but the customer service skills of their sales associates seems to be lacking. I'm normally pretty self-sufficient and don't need much assistance from employees. However, on the rare occasions that I needed assistance (picking up an item on hold or wanting something that's totally out of my reach since I'm so short), there was a lack of enthusiasm and friendliness from the associates who would help me when I was finally able to find one! Perhaps this is due to staffing issues or changes in the way Macy's trains their associates, but it's not cool. Overall, Macy's at the Mall of Georgia gets 3 stars for being "OK" compared to other Macy's stores I've been to in L.A. and Guam. The merchandise they have in stock is pretty much on par with other locations, but the sales associates really need to work on providing "outstanding" customer service. Back in the day when I worked at Macy's, it was a requirement for associates to end their sales by saying something along the lines of, "Have an outstanding day!" We would also request that they complete a customer service survey online indicating that we provided "outstanding" service. I have been told that this is no longer required, but that's no excuse for poor service. I was a lover of Macy's until recently. I understand things are different as we are coming out of Covid. I called the local MOG location to set a lingerie appointment. There was no specific phone # to the department so I was transferred to shoes, then clothing, and then by the 3rd transfer, I hung up and called Dilliard's. I called the MOG local #, asked for lingerie, was answered by a pleasant voice who asked to put me on hold and of course I said yes! I have an appointment set and looking forward to the service! This is one of the worst Macy's I've ever been to. For one thing, most of the employees working here either ignore you or snob you off. They're so snooty. If you know what I mean, but if they see that you're wearing a lot of brand name products on you, then they help you. I noticed that while shopping with a friend of mine a month ago. Another thing is that the fitting rooms are a complete mess sometimes and I always see the employees not doing anything!!! They really NEED TO IMPROVE on their people skills! This is a wonderful establishment, and it is probably one of my favorite clothing stores. I get a lot of my suits and professional wear from here, and it's always cool and unique stuff. The deals they have are mind-blowing. Everything is always 25-75% off, and it astounds me that you can get so many bargains here. I often find interesting and different types of pants here for less than $10 a piece. They have nearly everything you could need besides food (and you can just go inside the mall for that). read more

I lot has changed in this Macy's over the past 3 years, since I moved to ATL. The store has had a vast improvement in its merchandise selection and service levels. They underwent a localization initiative to bring merchandise that is relevant to its local consumer base and have tagged this store as an innovation store where Macy's is testing new technology. We were in ladies shoes and all sales people had iPod touch devices and were able to quickly tell what shoes they had in stock without having to go in back only to come out and say sorry don't have that size. Great improvement, now my wife can buy twice as many unneeded pairs if shoes in 1/2 the time it use to take. They also have invested in large video screens for a great look especially in Levi's where it looks like it own store in a store. Customer service was great on Saturday even though there was a sale going on. read more

This review is based only for the holiday season (christmas 2016). The store looks like two different places during the day and during night time haha. During the day it's very organized, clean, and easy to navigate. During late afternoon the store looks like the flea market, Clothes are everywhere, and its hard to find help from a sales associate. I was looking at the deals they have on some of their clothes and they seemed ok compared to other retailers. Although they show a 40% discount on some of their items, I checked the original prices online and at the end the discounts applied weren't that great of a deal. I do have to say their customer service was pretty good. They do seem happy to help their clients when the store is not too busy. The selection of brands and quality also seemed pretty good. I went this weekend for a specific mens shoe, they had it in stock and the size and color i wanted. It was't on sale so I talked to the sales associate and he matched a similar discount and showed me an online coupon i could use with my phone. Got the shoes, very happy, in and out. PAGING HOUSEKEEPING! Whenever, I go to Macy's, I know that my first stop will be the shoe department. They always have a great selection of nice leather sandals, boots and shoes. I'm sure to find something cute and comfortable. Today, however was a mess because the shoe department was understaffed as evidenced by shoe boxes sitting all over the floor and chairs, dirty surfaces, staff running around trying to attend to the customers. It was so unnerving that I did not really try. I did a cursory glance of the selection and then just sat down and waited for my friend to finish her search. Dear Macy's, If you actually cleaned your display tables, it would make shopping for a shoes a more enjoyable experience. Please hire additional associates so that when customers arrive, they don't have to walk the gauntlet of unattended boxes and trash. So very tired of the racism. Shopping in Macy's and decided to take a look at the leather recliners. Salesman walked right past me without so much as saying "may I help you", straight to the white family. Apparently I didn't look like I was there to make a purchase. Then to add insult to injury, another salesman walks up and begins chastising my son because he was trying out the VR glasses next to a television. He rudely said no, no, put those down. Do you know what those are? Of course he did. In fact, my son probably understands the tech behind the VR glasses better than him. Needless to say, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth and we will not shop at Macys again, that is unless we are looking to experience discrimination and racism at its finest. I love this Macy's and Macy's in general. First of all I'd like to say that I shop here at least once a week or every two weeks and sometimes purchase items online. I am a Macy's star rewards member and also have a Macy's card and let me tell you that every item I buy here is priced comparable to walmart the time to shop at Macy's is during sales and doorbuster hours if the item that you want is not on sale don't buy it because it will go on sale soon and also most cashiers will price adjust the merchandise if it was on sale the past few days or is going on sale and be sure to use a coupon they can be found online and in Macy's catalog in the newspaper. Another tool I use is browsing prices on the Macy's website and picking the items up in store when on sale some cashiers will scan store coupons if you ask and don't have them thay usually have a catalog up at register! read more
