I think there's a lot to love about Serendipity Consignment, but my experiences here have been mixed in some pretty substantial ways. The good: Their selection of clothing and especially of special event dresses is fantastic, the owner is very warm and helpful, and their clearance area has fantastic prices. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, I've had some not-great experiences at the store: The first time I went, my visit was fine. The owner wasn't there, but one of the two people working was really nice, and I found some great deals. My second visit was pretty stressful. I went in with my fiance and stepdaughter to look for elopement dresses. The woman working there, who was older and had gray hair, asked us if she could help us find something. We told her that we just wanted to browse. In response, she told my stepdaughter that there were some cute dresses she wanted to show her. My stepdaughter is a sweetheart and very shy. She didn't want to correct the woman or really have to deal with her at all, so I again told the woman that we were fine and just wanted to browse. The woman's response was to again tell my stepdaughter to follow her. My stepdaughter was deeply uncomfortable, and at that point, so were my fiance and I, but she begrudgingly followed the woman. We didn't understand why this woman was seeming to want to challenge our desire to browse. She didn't ask us once what we were actually looking for. Once my stepdaughter was able to break away from the woman, we left. It was the oddest experience--like some weird power play that we didn't understand. I didn't want to let that experience ruin Serendipity for me, especially because it's important to me to support small businesses. So I decided to give it one more chance a few months later. They really do have a great selection of dresses, and I was still looking for something special. That day, the owner, who seems like a really sweet person, was there and the shopping experience was a good one. I purchased two beautiful previously owned dresses. Here's where the experience went south, though; I made the mistake of looking up how much the dresses cost new once I got home so I could congratulate myself on my deal-finding skills. I discovered that they cost LESS new and that they were still available for purchase. So I paid more than I would have had i purchased them new, and the receipt indicated Serendipity doesn't take returns. It was very disappointing. I still might go back at some point, but I'll be checking the cost of items before I make any purchases, and I'll be reserving my visits for times that the unpleasant sales associate isn't there. read more

Wow this place is top notch for thrift shopping high quality items at a great price. I found a hard to find price lingerie (bra) for only 10.00 for a friend it is a hard to find size a 46G in Black. She will be so happy to get this sexy piece. The staff are all so sweet and helpful. They take your selections and hang them in the changing room and when you are finished just leave the pieces you will not be purchasing. That makes your shopping so easy. You can get elegant gowns for weddings, prom and fancy dinners. Or if you are looking for something casual you might find a fendi, coach or hermes anything from tops to dresses to bottoms and shoes. A total delight. Love the merchandizing but they seem a little too small for all that they have. Items are well chosen and I found a great Doony and Burke purse for a reasonable price - a 1/4 of what it goes for online. My granddaughter really scored so there are fun clothes for the younger set. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Need something formal - weddings, proms, etc. I would check this place out. Very pretty and in perfect condition. One will know you bought it at a consignment shop. And for a frock that is usually worn once, I would check here. read more

I am shocked this place doesn't have more reviews. If you are looking for great quality clothes at a great price, you need to come in. Nikki, the owner, is beyond wonderful. If you are trying on clothes and you ask her opinion about something you are trying on, she will tell you the truth. Exactly what I need when I am shopping by myself and trying on clothes. She won't tell you something looks great on you (when it really doesn't), just to be able to sell something. She will guide you and help you find something that flatters your body. It really is like being out shopping with your best friend. You can find everything from casual clothes, shoes, and accessories to evening gowns and the bling to go with it. The store is very organized and easy to shop. Nikki always has a half price rack and even a .99 cent rack. I cannot recommend shopping here highly enough. It is my go to place for outfits that make me feel put together and looking my best. At a fraction of the cost of shopping at the big department stores. She gets in so much merchandise that the place feels like a new store every time you go in. I was in one week shopping and then came back the following week because of a picture she had posted of an outfit on Instagram. It was like I had never shopped there before due to all of the new stuff. If you see something you like, you better buy it right away because it will be gone the next time you come back. But if you see something she has posted on social media, Nikki is often willing to hold it for you for a short time. An added bonus is that the dynamic duo has been reunited. Long time employee, Brittani, is back on Wednesdays. It is always so evident that she and Nikki enjoy being together and helping others shine. So hurry in. You will be glad you did. read more

This is my all-time fav consignment store. There is truly something for everyone (female, that is) here, and the prices are great. I especially love the $.99 rack! The owner makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated, and I have never felt pressured to buy here. They have gorgeous gowns, casual and dressy clothing, purses and bags, shoes and boots, jewelry, and so much more. I have found so many cute things here through the years, and all at a great price. The BEST consignment shop in Gwinnett County! The owner is awesome and so is her side kick, lol. These 2 ladies brighten my day every time I see them. They have a huge selection of clothing (all sizes, too), handbags, shoes, accessories, etc.. My favorite is the $0.99 rack. Its hit or miss but definitely worth a look. We stopped in to this quaint little consignment shop on our way to a local dress shop. My 8th grader needed a gown for her school formal. For the price of one of the gowns at the other formal wear shop, we walked out with TEN dresses for different occasions! Brittany was great with assisted us and helped us find the perfect dress for the formal as well as many other occasions. We grabbed shoes and accessories, too! I brought in several items in excellent shape to consign. I went to pick up my unsold items the day after the end date and was told they were automatically deleted from the computer and there was no way to know what they were. Seriously??? If the items were "deleted" automatically by the computer how did they know which items to remove from the floor to donate? My guess is anything after the "end" date becomes the property of the store and all profits from the sale goes to the owner. I'll never consign here again! read more
