I always enjoy shopping at this store! I always receive excellent service shopping here. They have many higher end brands that other stores do not offer. Best yet they offer a 0% interest free charge card which helps avoid interest by the other " big " stores. Whether it's Kathy or MJ in cosmetics, or even Chasity upstairs you will get 100% service. This was my first time at this store, I saw that they have samples and decided to get my mom two samples for her to try out because she has sensitive skin. Shortly I was approached by a very rude employee that demanded very rudely For me to give her my name and number. The employees assumed I was stealing I felt very discriminated and embarrassed. I refused and she demanded I give her the 2 very tiny samples back. I really wanted to like this store and shop here further, very disappointed. I hope they find employees that take care of their customers and aren't rude and disrespectful. read more

This place should get reported with the way the managers talk to their employees!!! Looks very high class but is really ghetto. I was looking for some shoes to get my wife, and I overheard someone very rudely talking down to what I assume was an employee. It truly shifted the room and my daughter and I were absolutely appalled. The employee seemed so sweet and didn't deserve to be blatantly disrespected like that. Especially in front of customers!!! The dress dept at Von Maur has the best sales associate ever. I had my eye on a dress for my son wedding in Laa Vegas. Vicky was a joy working with. After purchasing the dress, Vicky let me know i could get the alterations there and let me know how to make an appointment. What really was wonderful, she sent me a hand written note. I think once Nordstroms was gone, I expected something different. Way different. Went here on a holiday special and did find what I wanted. This is a high end place from shoes, casuals to suits for men and all for women. Prices run a bit steep but most are good quality brands. I came in for v neck sweaters for a trip and was able to find sale items up to 60% and one for even $30 that started at $169 and was Cashmere and is perfect, so was happy with my shopping. Did not spend too much time as I was pushing my mother through in a wheelchair and we had places to go. Staff was nice, not too many patrons so hope they do something to pull people in. Will check on sales and spied some shoes I'd love to have. read more

I love Von Maur. The store is neat and I've never had an issue with any of the associatea. Some of the larger Department stores have crap all over the floor everywhere and never a sales associate to be found. The prices are comparable with other large stores and I'd much rather shop there because it's less chaotic and stressful. And, they have great sales! read more

I just walked out of this store after finding a few things I was ready to purchase. Two sales associates looked my way, never acknowledged me or said a word. I went to the fitting room to try them on and no one offered to help. I had several items and I put them back and just walked out. With "customer service" like this, Von Maur will fade away like a lot of other major retailers. read more

Ooh naw... Checked out this department store brand for the first time last weekend and I was *below* under-whelmed. Did I fall prey to the hype, cutesy billboards, and tv commercials; or has the sheen already worn off? After spending what felt like forever in the nearly empty women's shoe department browsing displays, I finally approached a manager-looking guy and told him it was my first visit and I was not impressed with the service. Mind you, there were three nothing-to-do shoe clerks enjoying a boisterous conversation a few feet away. At that point, it really was a wrap, but I tried on three pairs any way and the clerk offered to bring me more. No thank you, as it was tagged, wrapped, and delivered by that point. I don't know from where this store chain originates, but this is the deep South, and better stores like Nordstrom and Macy's know how to sell and serve the clientele. A walk through the remainder of the floor yielded no results. There were no marked indications of sections or designers-- just a sea of clothing racks filled with uninspired whatevers, and the store's ceiling is covered in a million spotlights for some unknown reason.You know, the canister fixtures that can be pointed in various directions. One million. And annoying in the periphery. Spotlighting what?? Every square inch of floor tile? Okaaaaaay. The one (and only) upside of the store was the baby grand piano and its very talented player. How about setting those million spotlights on him? He's the only thing I see that this Von Maur has going for itself. read more

The staff was very rude. I was shopping for a bag/purse and was willing to spend that day. I still walked out with something but spent way less than I was intending to. They lost out on a lot of money. There were two associates looking at me and keeping an eye as if I wasn't supposed to be there / steal something. Offered no help or greeting when there was nobody else around. When I went to check out, the same associate who gave me a dirty look refused to look me in the eye and didn't offer any friendly greeting or any sort of communication. Was about to call her out on her attitude but figured it wasn't worth it. Will stay at home and give my money to another business who has employees with basic social skills and cues smh. read more

I was a bit disappointed in Von Maur. The clothing they had on the racks were almost nonexistent, two to three items per rack. When I went to the store it was when they first opened, so they should have been fully stocked. read more

We love Von Maur! Customer service is better than any of the other anchor stores. The employees are professionally dressed. They offer FREE gift wrap, FREE shipping. Sales are excellent when you see the sale sign, you can get a very nice deal, sometimes up to 75% off. This is not your average store, definitely more upscale. If they don't have what you are looking for, they offer to check other stores and will either ship it to your home for free or to their store. No one else offers services like Von Maur. read more
