All TJ's are different and this is my favourite one of them all. This Location is huge, they have plenty of different things for around the house, so the selection is great. If you love kitchen ware, picture frames, rugs, bedding, bathroom and clothing, this is a great store. The staff here are friendly and the checkout line is fast when compared to other stores. They have about 10 registers, usually six open at a time. The location near my school only has three, so talk about a difference.

Ridiculous wait and only 2 employees actually working to help the poor souls stuck in line.

I wish there was a negative star rating, for the rare occasion where you've tried something multiple times and had a horrible experience each and every time. This HomeGoods / T.J. Maxx is hands down the worst in a 100 mile radius, (I can't speak to many outside of that) and each time it manages to get worse. Be sure to ask for Debbie, the manager, if you have the misfortune of being there when she is "running" things. I have yet to wait less than 30 minutes in line! That is absurd! Always with employees standing around talking all over the store AND behind the counter, but only 2-3 registers open. The pictures I took today, after walking away from a 10 minute wait in line, not moving forward once, are of the wrapping around line (16 sales in front of us, a few behind) and just 2 registers open! Once outside we saw Debbie (we only know her from a previous ridiculous wait and asking the lady who checked us out the managers name, turns out Debbie was standing right next to her and said the wait was to be expected when she couldn't pull anyone off the floor because of a "schedule"...I didn't ask her). Today Debbie was standing outside talking to someone and laughing, completely indifferent to the absolute mess inside. I shot the picture as we drove away from them, just breaking up their several minute chat and Debbie actually going to work to mess with the carts, certainly not back inside. This store is clearly run with apathy, which is just unacceptable. A customer can tolerate a lot of poor service, but indifference is just something people shouldn't have to put up with. If you're a big fan of people completely disregarding your time and ridiculously long lines and watching 1-2 employees slave away while others literally stand around talking, then this is absolutely the store for you! If this sounds like a horrible experience I'd just avoid this store.

    Savory oils. Try something different!

Won't answer their phone. Didn't put all the items I paid for in my bag. I live 30 min away. I am NOT happy.

My sister even traveled from out of town to be there with me, so I was thrilled that we found the dress we were looking for. Although it was expensive, the dress was beautiful and definitely worth it. I had bought the dress, but unfortunately, it was too small. So, I decided to buy it and get it altered by a seamstress. The seamstress did a great job with the alterations, and she hand-made my veils, too. However, the issue arose when my dress was ready and I left it at the store to be steamed and delivered on my wedding day. This was a perk that was explained to my mother, my sister, and me when I initially tried the dress on. But, to my surprise, I received a call a few days before my wedding day, and they informed me that the store doesn't offer professional steaming or delivery. I was shocked, frustrated, and disappointed that we had been lied to in such a distasteful fashion. With only a few days left before my wedding, I didn't have the mental or emotional energy to deal with this let-down. My sister and mother were also upset at having been put in such a tight situation with only hours before the wedding day. We had expected what we were told: that the store would steam my dress and even deliver it on my wedding day so that it would be one less thing for us to worry about. I believe in good business, especially when thousands of dollars are being spent. I will not be making any further purchases from this store. While the dresses are beautiful, I cannot tolerate dishonest sales practices and unfulfilled promises.

The good: Their selection of clothing and especially of special event dresses is fantastic, the owner is very warm and helpful, and their clearance area has fantastic prices. Unfortunately, as I mentioned, I've had some not-great experiences at the store: The first time I went, my visit was fine. The owner wasn't there, but one of the two people working was really nice, and I found some great deals. My second visit was pretty stressful. I went in with my fiance and stepdaughter to look for elopement dresses. The woman working there, who was older and had gray hair, asked us if she could help us find something. We told her that we just wanted to browse. In response, she told my stepdaughter that there were some cute dresses she wanted to show her. My stepdaughter is a sweetheart and very shy. She didn't want to correct the woman or really have to deal with her at all, so I again told the woman that we were fine and just wanted to browse. The woman's response was to again tell my stepdaughter to follow her. My stepdaughter was deeply uncomfortable, and at that point, so were my fiance and I, but she begrudgingly followed the woman. We didn't understand why this woman was seeming to want to challenge our desire to browse. She didn't ask us once what we were actually looking for. Once my stepdaughter was able to break away from the woman, we left. It was the oddest experience--like some weird power play that we didn't understand. I didn't want to let that experience ruin Serendipity for me, especially because it's important to me to support small businesses. So I decided to give it one more chance a few months later. They really do have a great selection of dresses, and I was still looking for something special. That day, the owner, who seems like a really sweet person, was there and the shopping experience was a good one. I purchased two beautiful previously owned dresses. Here's where the experience went south, though; I made the mistake of looking up how much the dresses cost new once I got home so I could congratulate myself on my deal-finding skills. I discovered that they cost LESS new and that they were still available for purchase. So I paid more than I would have had i purchased them new, and the receipt indicated Serendipity doesn't take returns. It was very disappointing. I still might go back at some point, but I'll be checking the cost of items before I make any purchases, and I'll be reserving my visits for times that the unpleasant sales associate isn't there.

I take ALL of my upscale items to Serendipity! Please come shop there you will not regret it!read more
