I worked here in the past. One time in the hardware department somebody's kid was strewing flat washers all over the cement floor, creating a slip and fall safety hazard. I politely and reasonably asked him to stop. The previously nowhere to be found mother suddenly appeared, got in my face, and then went and complained about me to management. This put me on the list to be let go which I was the next time the company needed to reduce numbers, uncaring about the safety aspect. Now I make it a point to shop anywhere but here. If I do, it is for something that I use for awhile and then return. I know other employees there who are mishandled and abused at the hands of management, when they and I gave our all to our work just for the satisfaction of it, which management knows nothing about. To Everyone who buys stuff at the Home Depot DO NOT BUY there Protection Plan or especially Any HOMES PROJECTS because they hired POOR Contractor to do your home and when troubles comes along there Warranty Departments will waste your time, ignore your call/message and email. This is when your Attorney step in to Settle your Claims. I have my Roof done 4 years ago by there contractor. At first when the roof was complete than came the rain I have them come out to fix it's several times. Now After 4 years my roof leaks called them and they said they don't do roof anymore and tell me to find a contractor and they pay for it. Finds 8 contractors all said the same things the roof put on not in accordance house code, sealing was poor and the roof CANNOT be REPAIR. Give them all information that my roof need Replacement Not Repair. 7-8 months after my roof Claim not Settle. I'm about to file Lawsuit. My last attempts were general, and vague reviews. Rejected. Unacceptable censorship. I'm very experienced and want to help people avoid a bad experience. Deleting my generous 4 star review here and giving Home Depot 1 star like so many others. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Staff are great at the Bothell Home Depot, including managers and Service Desk - especially Katie. Hampton Bay cabinets are awful and 3 were so badly damaged I couldn't repair them. Katie took care of it with the help of a great guy at "dot com" on the phone. The Hampton Bay cabinet damage caused us harm by adding an extra month without a kitchen to cook food in. At least HD staff went into action to mitigate the damage. I think it's bad policy in refusing to deliver cabs to the customer. Mine may have beed damaged during the extra and unnecessary off-loading, stocking and storing in the Bothell Home Depot. HD requires us to check for damage before accepting them so they must have checked that the cabs were undamaged from the trucker when they received them. When I got to them they were piled up in the Pro desk driveway, already damaged. I was stuck and desperate. Deduct only a star due to great staff at HD Bothell. I've been in the trades since 1979 and am a Building Inspector. There was negligence in the shipping protection of those Hampton Bay cabinets. This place needs some serious help. It is the most disorganized Home Depot I've ever been to, with the least helpful staff. Today is a Sunday and I was expecting it to be busy, but this wasn't a case of too many customers. Unfortunately every experience, regardless of day/time at this location is bad. last night I went to this home depot to return christmas lights. I bought rolls of lights for my house, but I am not able to find anybody to hang it for me, so I decided to take it back. Guess what.... After scanning my drivers license, they said - your return was denied. After that they dialed their manager and I went through hearing some balonies about stupid policies. They asked me this and that, I said look, it is not worth my time, some $100 crap.... and ended up leaving it there, calling it trash and I will never to buy anything at home depot ever again in my life. I shop alot at home depot and this one is the worst. Tool rental has dumb problems that I don't even care to describe. Just do not rent tools here. If you hire HD to remodel your home, they'll sub you out to the cheapest sub they can find. I've had the manager lie about an item I was returning, saying it was nonreturnable. I checked their website later and learned the guy had lied since the return would count against his sales numbers. This place is garbage. Tried finding my brother a heated hoodie that they said they had in stock, only to find myself being detoured from one employee to the next. They even admit that a lot of stuff gets stolen so it never updates the inventory. Get this though...I was standing at the section whom the employee was responsible for. My brother was the custer service to try getting info there. The girl from customer serviced called the guy that was right in front of me to look for the item we needed. I watched as he lied about walking around looking for it and climbing a ladder as he stood there pretending to even do anything. This place is awful. We went to get a new washer and dryer with the dimensions of our area, the guy sold us a set and told us we would get it a few days. We get a call the day before delivery and they pushed it back a week. So we go back to the store and the guy who sold it to us refused to talk to us or help us at all. We go to the customer service and they said someone might call us in a couple days. And when he does call he doesnt seem to care at all and tells us about spacing needed to install which nobody had mentioned. So we go back and talk to the lady in appliances and without us saying much she cancels our order, but we find out later she failed to refund $1000 worth of stuff. So I find the guy who called me and he still had no empathy or customer service but he refunded the rest and told me about spacing. So we ended up reordering the same stuff and have to install the dryer ourselves. It is a damn mess. read more

We visited this location for some last minute supplies for mounting a TV to the wall - low and high voltage box, receptacle, 14/2 romex, etc. I am from out of State and generally do well finding my way around. This store has an odd layout though and it must have shown on my face. I was approached early, helped to the right area and had a very positive experience with the staff. This Home Depot is such a mixed experience. On the one hand, I've had great experiences with helpful employees, or finding exactly what I need quickly and easily. (The app is helpful for navigating, too). I like that this store is well-lit and has a great selection of items. The downsides are parking (how is it always raining when I have to park at the end of the lot?), long waits for services (30 minutes for a lock to be rekeyed), and the plants aren't the best quality., though they do have a good selection. The store is comprehensive. It's not necessarily the best bargain around. You'll find what you need most likely, but may encounter some frustration. Bonus points for easy self checkout. read more

I truly can't even describe the level of poor customer service this store provides. I will start with some of the staff that work there. The staff I dealt with there during the purchase of carpeting and appliances were great people and extremely hard working people. The problem in this store is the Management. I ordered and paid for a carpet to wait for ever for delivery with many delivery issues and when I finally got the carpet, it was not even what I ordered, it was a completely different carpet and different color. By that time, the contractor has already removed the old carpets from my home and I did not have time to call Home Depot again and stay on hold for ever....? So, I had to use whatever they sent me. I purchased an oven, a dishwasher and a Microwave from the same store and after spending Thousands of Dollars there, we could not even get the dishwasher door opened because when they installed the appliances, they did not install the oven correctly so the dishwasher door will hit the over and can't be opened. I called Home Depot 7 times regarding this issue and they told me that they completed a full report and someone will call me back ....? Guess what ? no one ever called back and I had to pay a contractor to fix this problem which was created by Home Depot to start with. So, I paid twice ...? Also, try to reach a manager...? you will be on hold for ever and ever.. ? and once you do talk to someone, nothing gets done. Home Depot, you folks definitely understand how important customer service is as it shows in the folks that work here. Delwyn (Del) was great! He saw me searching in the lighting area and came by to ask me if I needed help despite the fact that he had a few things in this hands and was on this way to return them to the right location. He asked me a few questions to determine what I needed and then walked with me to check on the power so I don't exceed the capacity. Del definitely saved me another trip back. When I was done there, I went walk and was checking out a few other things and Kathy was so nice to ask me if I found everything I needed. Gosh great customer service really puts a smile on my face when I'm in a hardware store and am lost most of the time. Hey, the good news is that all of the employees know where everything in the store is. The bad news is that they are understaffed to the point that it's difficult to get any help. Yesterday, I spent the better part of an hour first helping two landscapers with a layout of drainage piping. Next it was a gentleman doing a fence repair. No one ever showed up in the plumbing department and one someone finally showed up in lumber they were miffed that I had to do their job. Two times visiting this Bothell location and both times I was harassed at the checkout stands about "not paying for everything". The first time I was holding a super old automatic gate arm (brought it in to look for new bolts and washers for it) and they kept on asking if I was going to pay for it (It was 10 years old, sun/weather worn and muddy - There's no way it looked like I just grabbed it off their shelves...plus it was 1/10th of the package that you would have to order online). Second time I walked up to the self checkout cashier (to avoid the same problem before) and scanned all items in front of her. After paying, she asks me if I paid for everything. I said yes and offered to show my receipt. She didn't say anything. I proceeded to walk out and she asked me again if I paid for everything! I asked what don't you think I paid for? She said "I don't know, I'm just asking if you paid for everything". I asked "What are you trying to get at?" She just stared at me blankly then said again "did you pay for everything?". I worked loss prevention when I had just gotten out of the military for about a year and made over 100 legitimate stops that actually recovered a store's assets - This was in no way just an employee protecting the store's assets. This was targeted harassment. When I asked for a manager, she said she could ask for one but it would take a while. She got the head cashier to come after about 10 min who then was trying to convince me not to make a formal complaint then she began questioning why I went to their location specifically! She had me wait at customer service while she looked for the manager. Over 20 min later, she came back with the assistant manager who then again tried to convince me not to file a complaint. Instead, she got my name and phone number and said she will talk to the cashier and see if she needs additional training. Another manager of another department overheard both my conversations with the head cashier and the store assistant manager and he said that was a very odd approach. He told me how to actually file a complaint (simply fill out the survey below on the receipt). He asked if he could help in any way and that he could give me pen and paper to write a formal complaint that he can hand to the actual manager as well. This proved the cashier, head cashier, and assistant manager were trying to cover up the cashier's problem and this approach makes me think that there is a systemic problem and not just a bad cashier...or just a bad head cashier...or just a bad assistant manager. My guess is that it was poor customer service training that would have been the assistant manager's fault and at least two underlings trying to protect the poor training they received. But then again, there's simply poor training...and their's corruption. This store is so far 0/2 for me while I've never ever been harassed at higher theft locations where I've been to literally hundreds of times; How does North Seattle, Tukwila, Issaquah, Bellevue, and even DT Seattle's (with a super high level of theft!) have better trained and friendlier workers than Bothell? read more

They have a convenient location not far from work so I can stop in and get what I need before starting on the next project. read more

I have mixed feelings about this store. On one hand, it's fairly convenient and they often have what I need, and on the other hand, they're a huge coporation. Given that there's a McLendon's a mile away, I tend to prefer that family-run locally-owned business. I liked this store way better when it was open 24 hours; they've scaled that back to more normal business hours, which is a bummer when a project takes longer than you need and you end up needing one more whatever to finish up. The staff here range from novice to expert; I always hunt for the employees who look like my dad when I have a sort of weird or technical question. Very poorly managed store. The manager needs to place much more emphasis on keeping items that they have pallets of in the store, but not stocked on the shelves. In a retail store, moving your in-stock products from inaccessible pallets to the store shelves is basic this Store Managing 101. I've had to leave the store on multiple occasions because the store employees were not able to reach pallets we could see, but they couldn't get to them. read more

This review is specifically for the installation of doors we purchased from Home Depot. We special ordered the doors (new front door and a fire door to the garage) and scheduled for their installers to put them in. When the doors arrived there were some minor scratches that didn't look like a big deal but the install was bottom level service. The front doors were installed but gaps were left where the tile met the door and the top frame didn't cover where the prior frame reached. There was no offer to fix this for an additional fee or an offer to use larger trim.. it was just our problem when they were done. They started to put in cosmetic plugs to hide the screws in the door but got tired of doing it, only filled a couple and left the rest for us to deal with. The bottom metal threshold was dented and they installed it anyway so when we noticed it they said "it came like that" and it was our problem. When installing the door to the garage the man RUMMAGED THROUGH OUR STUFF FOR A 2x4 without asking, said he needed it and was going to charge $160 for cutting off a piece he needed. He then said the tile to the garage door was in his way so my husband was there having to cut tile for the guy. When they left they had left black fingerprints on the new white trim. Bottom level service all the way. Don't use their service!!! read more

If you plan on buying appliances and a Protection Plan for them at Home Depot, I would strongly suggest that you choose a different store. The Protection Plan is useless. I have been calling for a week because my refrigerator is breaking down, and they will not offer a service appointment before three weeks. The refrigerator, which I bought only 2 years ago, already broke down once and since they didn't come soon enough, I had to throw away all food and the kitchen wooden floor got ruined due to water leaking from the freezer. This is the second time this refrigerator is not working, and I have been on the phone for 5 days now with no possibility to get a service appointment before two weeks from today. This refrigerator along with its Protection Plan have been a waste of time and money. I will never again buy an appliance at a Home Depot! read more

I ordered a portable air conditioner during a heat wave , my 85 year old mother had just come to Washington. The AC was to be delivered that same day, it was a Tuesday- last week Tuesday. The delivery was delayed to the next day - I tracked the delivery by end of day Wednesday- nothing! I called Home Depot and they were not sure why it hadn't been delivered but asked me to give it until noon the next day and if it didn't arrive to call the store. Thats what I had to do and come to find out the AC was there but not out on the truck to be delivered that day either, it's now Thursday! I spoke to a manager, and was offered a discount if I went and picked up the unit myself, so I did. When I got there and explained to the customer service person, he couldn't figure out how to give me the discount since I ordered the unit online, I initially told him to call Sig if there are any issues, as per Sig, 15-20 minutes later after asking different ppl and trying different ways to no avail, he calls and Sig is out to lunch, of course! Finally a woman I spoke to when I called was walking by and was kind enough to jump in and solve the problem, God bless her. I'm not understanding how nobody is accountable for an item I ordered and paid for delivery fee, somehow never making it on the delivery truck and 3 days later mystery is still not solved! I placed a kitchen cabinet refacing project last October 2022. I was told that February 2023 that the project be completed. March came and no words from HD. I tried calling, emailing and texting the salesperson I placed the order with several times but no response. I finally went to the store and talked to one of the kitchen designer. He offered to help and sent emails to managers and suoervisors. I finally got a call saying installation will begin on May 22nd. May 22nd came and installation begun but left unfinished. Installer doesn't speak a word of English and can't tell me when it'll be finished. I waited over a month, it's now June 26th and still no words from HD. Frustrated, I went back and asked help again, this time the Genera manager gave me a call to assure me it'll be completed soon. It's now July 24th still no words. It's coming to its 8th months since I placed to order and am losing my patience and really stressing me out looking at my unfinished kitchen. I came to rent a riding lawnmower. I didn't say anything about that you either had to bring your own trailer or that they would have to deliver it. The information it said trailer available for transport. When I got here, I found out that they can't load it on the trailer nor can I load it on one of their trailers so either I have to have it delivered or bring my own trailer. I asked to speak to a manager, and the only thing he would do, his name is Sigg, which call on the phone and talk to the employee instead of coming to talk to me. It is an extremely bad experience buying carpet in Home Depot. I bought carpet and pad with free installation in September 2019 and paid in full. They scheduled the installation to end of October. I waited for one and a half month. To prepare for installation, I spent a whole day at home to move all my furniture and everything away. I plan to replace carpet for the whole home, so it was lots of labor to clear every room ! On the installation day, they came to my home, looked around for a few minutes, and asked me reschedule, then left ! The reason they refused to install on that day was I did not turn on heater so the temperature in my home was low ! I spent a whole day moving furniture, without going to work; now I had to spend another day move everything back, and all these efforts are meaningless ! I decided to cancel the order. In the following week I called Home Depot lots of times in order to get my money back. Every time they ask me to wait and someone will call me back. I waited for 2 weeks and nobody is calling me back. So I have to drive to the store. In the store they agree to issue my refund only if I pay 15% restock fee ! That means I spent almost six hundred dollars for nothing ! My family and I will NEVER buy anything from Home Depot ever again ! read more
