I think the hangar is a fine place. It can be very dark inside even during the daytime. The food is pretty good (wings and burgers specifically) and the beer is cold! I'm going to be giving it a few more tries based on other reviews but the dark quiet bar just wasn't what I was looking for the times I tried it. read more

Ordered 10 bone-in wings for takeout. Have had them before. But this time they were dry, dry, and nine flats and only one drum, and the sauce was almost non-existent. Five of the wings had no sauce and the rest a tiny bit. There is always sauce that drips off and is in the bottom of the takeout container. This time there was not even a teaspoon full on the bottom. The service here is ALWAYS KIND, Friendly, Quick and on point. Food is great bar good- but made to order Hot, and fast. Ambiance can be loud and or just enough energy to play pool, or Music Bingo!! Fun! I have tried many things on the menu while passing by from the airport, or just come here to play music bingo on a random night. Stopped here prior to our flight out of Pittsburgh. Found it randomly while driving and looking at nearby establishments on Yelp. Atmosphere is nice - typical local bar feel. Waitress was pleasant, but over-talkative IMO. My husband ordered the Reuben with beer battered fries for an up charge. They came with regular fries, and most other options were an up-charge. A nice place out near the Pgh airport. Stopped in for an "after my last day working" party for a gal that has retired from a military airbase nearby. I worked with her years ago before I retired. The festivities were at the outdoor patio area. Very nice folks working, a good selection of beers and drinks, it was clean and obviously well-tended. My grandson and I picked up food recently. I chose a grilled chicken salad because I read the ingredients included french fries. Unfortunately, there were maybe 3 - 4 french fries included. The cheese was virtually not noticeable. The rest of the salad was fair. The chicken was dry. The chicken tenders that my grandson chose were not bad. He also ordered tator tots, which, as he stated, were soggy. We had a short ride home with the food in a hot bag and consider that with the review, but it was clear that the quality was definitely sub-standard. Finally made a trip out to The Hangar for lunch on a weekday. The bar area was partially full with maybe 10 other patrons dining or drinking. The inside has a dark bar vibe with lots of neon lights, bar seating? high top seating, and some tables. The bartender was quick to bring us waters and menus. We ordered a good variety of food starting with the loaded tots, boneless wings in the hottest sauce option, a hot sausage sandwich, and a reuben. The tots come with a signature honey sauce that (in our opinion) did not work at all with the cheesy, bacony flavors of the crispy tots. We opted for the side of ranch instead. The boneless wings were good and the reuben was phenomenal. The reuben was stacked with meat and sauerkraut, the rye was toasted and fresh, and they subbed the swiss for provolone and I loved it. My bf said the hot sausage sandwich was just ok, though it definitely looked appealing. The service was a little slow, but friendly. Honestly, not so sure about the Hangar after our last visit. We often visited the Hangar on "taco Tuesday" as well as other days of the week. Service is always good and the food was usually pretty good, but the last time we were there, the Margaritas tasted "funky" (no better word to describe it. Not sure if the sours mix was bad or what, but we could only finish half of our margarita). Tacos were also not so great that day- they tasted bland and there was a lot of grease / oil leaking out of them. Prior to this, we've enjoyed meals here (except for a Reuben that was all fatty and we considered this a fluke), but we just haven't felt like going back after this last bad experience. This experience was over a month ago and we have not been back since because the thought of going back just doesn't appeal to us. Also I can't get rid of my old review from 8 years ago. The Hangar has improved so much over the years! I'm happy to say it's one of my favorite local bars for food and drinks. Their happy hour is 5-7 with half off drinks. It's an unbeatable deal! They also have a daily food special. I've visited on wing night and $1 taco night, and neither disappointed. The staff is kind, attentive, and quick! Stopped as we had just finished getting our fresh Christmas tree at Allison's Tree Farm (highly recommend BTW). It was late afternoon and not very busy. Good vibes, though. Sporty themed, well- maintained and clean. Lots of TVs with lots of games but not overwhelming. Friendly wait staff person brought drinks quickly and took our order. What a terrible way to treat your customers! Our Youth football coach suggested we meet at the Hanger after our 6th grade Senior Bowl All Star game. About 30 of us gathered to celebrate the season on the patio of the Hanger. (This was the 2nd time we had a gathering at the Hanger this season). Everybody was having a good time, when the owners burst onto the patio and started cursing at our coach that the "kids were out of control," telling him to "get the f**k out of here". The claim was that some kids were trying to climb the fence of the patio and throw chairs. We didn't see any of that, but definitely didn't appreciate the older owner lady trying to create a police line-up of our kids to point out the offender (she claimed to have video of these deeds, but declined to show it ). if the kids had done something wrong, the parents could have corrected and handled. Instead, the owner chose to jump right to attacking, yelling and generally making customers feel unwelcome at their establishment. We all would have left sooner, but it took a while to close out all of the bills (our group probably spent a couple grand) I feel bad for the bartender, who was great and treated everybody with respect all night. If the owners had a problem with how certain kids were behaving, they could have handled it in a respectful way with the parents. I have never felt more unwelcome at a bar or restaurant and will NEVER be back! Stay away from the HANGER in Moon! read more

I always loved the food at the Hangar but I was very disappointed today. I took some family there and told them the food was good. Two of us had cheesesteaks. The bun was massive and there was VERY little steak, cheese, & onions weren't cooked. Too much bread and not enough meat. The fries were not hot and soggy. Not sure what is going on there but the food is not consistent. I will not be in any hurry to return. There was one waitress/bartender for the place and it was pretty busy for 3-4pm. Everything about this place is great except the service. The bartenders are inattentive and you will have to constantly ask for drinks. During happy hour it's even worse, I waited 20 minutes for my first drink to be told I can only order one at a time due to PLBC being around. At the same time the bartender told me I can order a beer and a shot but not two beers, what? I was never asked if I wanted to see a menu either. The owner should be disappointed in his staff. Went to the Hangar on Saturday night with a few other people. Our first round of drinks were great, fast service and correct. Then it all went down hill. It seemed as though the people across the bar were far more interesting than the rest of the bar so the bartender spent most of her time talking to them with her back to us and the rest of her time on her phone in the corner. At one point she messed up a drink (gave regular soda instead of diet) honest mistake except she refused to believe or admit she messed up. Then she proceeds to smell the drink and say all I can smell is whiskey- well no shit, didn't think you would be able to smell diet. She was furious that we wanted it remade as was the manager and kept saying it's not a big deal- ummm yes sir, it is a big deal considering we are paying for it and want what was ordered. He also stated that the bartender was right cause she hasn't been drinking?!?! What??? She did reluctantly remake the drink and proceeded to slam it down in front of us. Needless to say it will not be my first choice when I am back in town, I felt like they really don't want people there anyway considering they never stay open! read more

Ordered delivery via Uber eats (costly btw) for the hangar seasoned (dry rub) boneless wings, baked fish dinner with a side of coleslaw, and the build a burger medium with provolone and the fresh cut fries. I noted for the fries to please be crispy almost burnt like because I like them crunchy and said thank you. They did not arrive that way. The only delicious part of this order was the boneless wings. Everything arrived hot which was great. The baked fish dinner for $12.49 was literally a small cut of flat baked fish and small cup of coleslaw. Absolutely ridiculous. This cannot be called a dinner! Do not order this!! Huge waste of money. Disappointed. The coleslaw was actually pretty good. Creamy and not watery. The build a burger came with lettuce, onion, and tomato. I removed the tomato. I didn't know. It was a decent size. The fries were a small portion and as mentioned, not cooked the way I'd asked politely. $10.99 is okay though for this meal. It was filling at least. Unlike the fish dinner. The boneless wings were $6.99 and they arrived hot and had a delicious salty flavor with the hangar seasoning! I believe there were 8 pieces. So yummy! This is the only thing I'd order again. I've been here multiple times in the past always with a group of co-workers and they have always had great wings (bone in or bone out). It was one small piece of fish that barely covered the bread, a small portion of fries and they forgot to include my coleslaw. Very disappointed with this selection, I've eaten at the Hangar in the past and had good experiences. I got take out from The Hangar the other night and I was reminded why I like their food! I haven't been there in person in years but when it showed up on Uber Eats I was in! I got this amazing Buffalo chicken salad with homemade ranch dressing. Not only is the chicken breaded and cooked perfectly, you get to pick your wing sauce. The portion is large with a ton of fresh veggies topped with fresh cut fries that were also cooked perfectly. My niece wanted this turkey, bacon and Swiss sandwich on a pretzel bun. I had a bite and it was tasty. Another good portion. We got a side of Mac n cheese but it was so good and gooey that we didn't take a picture because we ate it! Not sure what has happened to The Hanger. The food and service was always very good and at a nice price. 4 of us went there on 11/5 at 2 in the afternoon. Bar was semi full, only one bar tender and a cook on duty. No one waiting tables or bus boys, this is a managements issue. The service needless to say was very slow and even after we placed a drink order it took for every to get it. The bartender was on her phone more than waiting on customers. Ordered some wings, a large peperoni pizza and some buffalo chicken dip. The wings were cold and tasted like the were made 2 days ago. Cold and dry. The pizza was OK could have used more sauce and peperoni. The buffalo chicken dip had to be sent back. All it was very some shredded chicken, a little hot sauce and some melt cheese that was not identifiable. Very dry and salty. read more

I came here a few months ago and there were 4 waitresses/bartender sitting around and talking while I waited 15 minutes at the bar to order a drink. I said I wouldn't come back but I decided to give it a try. There is now 16 people in this bar with no waitresses and 1 bartender doing everything and is taking forever to get anything ordered and forever to get anything that you ordered. First off, we sat in a booth. Server/bartender (only 1 on duty since it was early afternoon) came over took our drink order, returned and took the food order. When I asked if they had fresh cut fries, she replied "we can". What kind of answer is that. Not sure why, but I ordered them. We both agreed she was a bit rude. But when she returned to the bar her friendliness magically appeared. Apparently, she's nice to the five men at the bar who seemed as if they were all regulars. I had the buffalo, bacon dog which was battered, deep fried & wrapped in bacon. Was a good beef hotdog and actually was pretty good. Husband had the hot roast beef sandwich. I don't know but if you are a restaurant that is open to the public then you should be open to the public. We wanted to order a door dashes order but was told they were closed. We called and confirmed they were closed. My recommendation would be to go to Terrney's or Harold hopewell. Maybe J. W. Halls in hopewell plaza. Primanti or Jacksonson in moon township.
