We were getting together with some old friends to celebrate a birthday and decided to meet up at this place. It was a good decision. They have plenty of indoor, outdoor and bar seating. Because it was a little hot outside we decided to sit at one of the hightop tables inside. The place has plenty of bright Pittsburgh signs and decor. We had the hot pepper cheese balls which tasted great. We then split the dough balls. For entrees we all had the Pittsbirgh salad with either steak or chicken. The salads came with lettuce, tomatoes, red peppers, onions, cheese and fries. They were a good size portion. The menu also offers plenty of appetizers, wings, and sandwiches. Went there with 8 other people on a Friday 2-13-2026 around 6 pm. Patio is extremely cold. Only 1 heater for the whole patio. Couldn't of been warmer than 68 degrees. Most of us ate with our coats on. There are several TV's, but waitress said she couldn't turn them on, only the bartender and they were swamped. Food took over an hour to get. Came out separately in groups of 3. One person got pierogies and had to ask for silverware. Three other people got Italian hoagies and had to use a pocket knife that another person had on them to cut their sandwiches in half. Didn't even ask if we wanted silverware. Food was good, but service was slow. Don't think we will be going back. read more

This is a welcoming neighborhood bar with a great beer selection and delicious food including many Pittsburgh favorites and homemade desserts. Service was good and they have many food and drink specials. I look forward to coming back in the summer to enjoy the large outdoor seating area. read more

My friend and I go out every Thursday night. We attempted to go here a couple of times but they seem to have bingo every Thursday around 7:30ish. That's fine but we like to talk and catch up so when we went out earlier, we were able to snag a table outside before the bingo started. We both had the wings and a side salad. 2/13/2026- Dinner for 9 people on Friday at 5:45pm. The only place to sit for groups with children is the enclosed patio. It is not truly built to seat people in the winter as we were all so cold we had to wear coats during dinner. There were 8 TVs hanging around but not one of them was turned on. Also no music. We were told as soon as we sat down that the tap system for the bar was not working so there was no draft beer. When ready to place our orders we were told the kitchen was slammed and it was going to take a while and things would not come out at the same time. I attempted to order a Philly cheesesteak appetizer as part of my meal but was informed they had no cheesesteaks. Who doesn't have beef on a Friday? The place did not have the adequate atmosphere of a bar on a Friday and clearly could not service the groups they seated. It was not an enjoyable experience. Absolutely terrible! Will never be going back! I asked where the bathroom was and it was like I asked for a million dollars. Then I wanted to play a song on the jukebox. The food tasted great but smash burgers were kid size portions. The beer is good but any mixed drinks are terrible. We loved this place. Out for a trike ride, stopped in for dinner, and not only were the employees so great and friendly.....but ordered a chicken salad and my husband got a steak salad. They were so phenomenal!! Full of veggies, egg, and fries plus the meat was cooked well and tasted great. This was our first visit to this restaurant and we will definitely be back. Perfect. The heat is so overwhelming with no air movement. It seems as though the staff isn't trained very well in customer service. The bartender at 5:30 on Wednesday on 8/28 was absolutely the worst bartender I ever encountered. No personality at all. Considering they just opened, I know it's a struggle but it's cash only and they don't tell you that upon seating. We did not get menus until 10 min in and were told the kitchen was 30 minutes behind but it was really an hour and 10 minutes. Some servers are inexperienced and need some additional training. Upon arrival, the bartender told us seat ourselves any place we wanted. Thought the front dining area was inviting. Well, server cleaned up a table near us and never returned. We waited about 15 mins and decided to leave as server was standing at bar BSing. Evidently unknown to us, and obviously the bartender, the dining area closes at 9pm. Instead of server coming over to say, I'm sorry but this section closes at 9. Would you mind moving to a table in the bar area, she completely ignored us. As we walked out the lights were turned off and main section doors closed. This was my first experience at this establishment, it is also my last. Ended up at Bowser's in Center Twp. with outstanding service. Sorry Back 2 Barney's, you lost what could have been life long customers. If you want customers, do better. Ambiance is lacking. You sit at a table and bench made from painted 2x4s. The menu is the usual for this sort of place: hamburger, steak salad, Rueben, etc. The order was taken quickly because the dining area was dead. Why I'm only giving 3 stars is that while waiting outside the restroom for my disabled sister I watched the whole order including a side salad sit at the pickup spot for 12 to 15 minutes. Now we all have had to accept that service is often poor for the last 3 years so not sure if I would have spoken up had I not seen the salad. I approached our server who was hanging out at the entrance laughing and talking to all the other waitresses (while our water glasses went empty) and told her our order has been up for awhile and I'm pretty sure the salad will need replaced after sitting under that lamp (I mistakenly thought it was on). She was unapologetic and a bit annoyed but brought out the order within a minute of me sitting down after I had gone back to help my sister walk back to the table. Once I tried my fries I realized the heat lamp was not turned on. In fact, they were limp and lukewarm after sitting there for that long. Nothing came out remotely hot. Can't swear by it but it did not look like she changed out the salad either but we didn't complain because it was not totally ruined but It was practically the same temperature as the fries since it was over 83 degrees in the restaurant. Found out too late that we were charged for that salad even though we thought it was substituted for the fries he didn't get. Waitress didn't tell us that. We were her only table so can't blame it on being too busy. read more
