The Santa Fe chicken was a letdown. The chicken had good flavor, but you can't convince me that was homemade salsa. Tasted just like Tostitos. Our wings were very good. Seasoned well and cooked well. I also liked their ranch. Fries were crispy and salty. It just wasn't a quick bite and an underwhelming entree for me. I won't be back, but I'm glad I tried it out.

There is also a big patio area which is wonderful for a warm spring day, or a cozy summer night. The menu contains unique items amongst its standard fare. We went with the "Polish bowl", the " Italian bowl" and the cheesesteak. The Polish bowl contained pirogies that would rival any church lent takeaway. Accompanying them was kielbasa, sauerkraut, bacon, with side of sour cream and butter. Large portions, delicious taste. The Italian bowl consisted of four enormous meatballs. The flavor reminded me of my mom's who was taught by her neighbor who was from Italy. So very delectable. I took two of the four home and made two meatball subs from them- again, so enormous. The Grumpy Beaver does not skimp on quantity, but maintains a very high level of quality. The cheesesteak equaled two you would receive from anywhere else. The inclusion of sirloin, Swiss cheese accompaniment, and the local Mancini bakery bread ( long roll) will stand against anything you get from Philly. This was scrumptious. For dessert we chose a Dubai torte, and a banana peanut butter pie. Both did not let us down, with the heavenly flavor exploding in each bite. Our waitress Gabby was sweet and very accommodating. We will be back, and you should try it!

Our toddlers LOVED looking around at all the taxidermy animals all over the walls and were thoroughly entertained for our entire meal. The calzone was enormous!! The only other place I've had one this big is from Bella Notte on the strip. We got bacon, sausage, and pepperoni in our calzone and those toppings were plentiful!! We only ate half of it and it was great the next day too! The marinara sauce wasn't especially interesting, but it wasn't bad either! Oh and they had a special for .75 wings!! So we got a half dozen to try. They were good. Service was good too! A little bit slow, but that's because calzones take a bit to bake and we knew that going into it. So no problem!! Overall a great experience and we are looking forward to bringing my in-laws here next time they are in town :)

We've…read morepassed this restaurant up several times, but when our go-to place had a long wait, we decided to give it a shot. The dining room was only partially full and the bar had a few patrons. We sat in a booth so we could watch preseason football. We really enjoyed this convenience! The food we ordered was delicious. We ordered hot boneless wings with bleu cheese for an appetizer. They were definitely spicy, but not so much so that you were sweating while eating them. We had to ask for an extra cup of bleu cheese which came out quickly. I had a chicken cesar wrap and it was stuffed with chicken. I could only eat half of the plate and took the other half home for lunch. My boyfriend had a spicy burger which he added a chipotle aioli to. He also enjoyed his plate. Our server and her trainee were both friendly and prompt. Between the food, service, and fair prices, we will be back, I'm sure.

The joys of traveling with an 18-year-old. After several days of working long hours and running on…read morevery little sleep, there were only a few things on my young travel companion's mind: sports, food, sleep, and probably girls--in no particular order! With an 8:50 PM flight out of Pittsburgh and not much time to spare, we decided to grab dinner on the way to the airport. I let my travel companion pick the restaurant, and since he's a lot like his father, he made a solid choice. All Star Sports Bar & Grill was conveniently located and an easy stop before heading to the airport. Thankfully, the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived because we still had the rental car return, TSA and a flight ahead of us. We opted for the dining area rather than the bar, which gave me a chance to take in all the sports memorabilia. As a lifelong sports fan, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Being in Pittsburgh, the walls were covered with Steelers and Penguins history, along with plenty of jerseys from players I grew up watching. Our server, Nicole, was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and quick with recommendations. Before my coworker could even look at the menu, I spotted the Soft Pretzel Sticks and ordered them as an appetizer. Good decision. Warm, salty, and paired perfectly with the cheese sauce. Definitely order these When I asked Nicole for recommendations, she immediately suggested the Reuben and the wings. Had I not eaten a Reuben the day before, that's probably what I would have ordered. As for the wings, I'll admit it--I am a Wing Snob. If they're not homemade or from Western New York, I'm usually passing. That's not a knock on their wings; it's just a very high standard that comes from growing up around some of the best wings in the country. Wanting to try something local, I ordered the Pittsburger. For me, it was just okay. Not bad by any means, and I cleaned my plate, but it wasn't a sandwich I'd order again. Looking back, the Reuben probably would have been the better choice. The fries were also average. I requested them crispy and without seasoning, but they didn't really stand out. Meanwhile, my travel companion ordered boneless wings. What can I say? He's 18. I even tried explaining the superiority of blue cheese over ranch, but that lesson appears to have fallen on deaf ears. Overall, I'm giving All Star Sports Bar & Grill 3 stars. That rating has more to do with my particular food choices and the rushed nature of our visit than the restaurant itself. The sports atmosphere was excellent, the service from Nicole was outstanding, and there were several menu items I'd like to come back and try. If I'm back in the area with more time and a bigger appetite, I'd definitely give this place another shot.
