The Santa Fe chicken was a letdown. The chicken had good flavor, but you can't convince me that was homemade salsa. Tasted just like Tostitos. Our wings were very good. Seasoned well and cooked well. First time here, despite seeing the sign many times in the past. Wanted to try something different and this was the choice. I didn't know what to expect. As I pulled up I was amazed at how large the place was, I was expecting a tiny place. The parking lot was packed, but I still was able to find a spot easily. My only negative in this review is the hostess stand experience. The hostess stand is really close to the door, so as soon as you open it bam there it is. There isn't really any place to wait. The hostess tonight was MIA more than she was there. I walked in to find 6 people squished by the stand. Nobody there. Then a young lady comes and takes 4 to be seated and then takes two more. So now I'm at the hostess stand and have people squeezing in behind me to be inside and close the door. Anyway I stand there for 5-10 minutes with nobody coming. I see the young lady walk towards the stand, doesn't look to me or acknowledge me in any way. She puts her head down and grabs menus and walks away to apparently grab a large party. I would have expected a greeting and perhaps "I'll be with you in a moment." Not just ignoring us. Finally she comes over and just stands there staring at us, no hello. So I start by saying two please. It was odd, no greeting at all. So we get seated, the place is packed. It took a little while for a server to come, but I can see they are busy. Server was friendly and attentive. I asked for what she would recommend and she said the fish sandwich is a favorite of many people, so fish it is. My buddy ordered a blue cheeseburger. We both added a cup of chili. Server was attentive with the drinks. We waited for maybe 15 minutes and asked if our chili would come with the sandwiches or could we get it before as is normal as a starter. She stated the kitchen is slammed but we would most definitely get it before the food. Probably two minutes later we had our chili. The chili had a good taste but was cold. We both agreed maybe it was served and sitting in the back that's why it was cold. Very quickly our sandwiches came. The fish sandwich was enormous and came with a ton of fries. I really enjoyed the fish and it was piping hot. I'm not a fan of fries but these were decent. My buddy was very pleased his burger. The bill came and we were pleased with that as well. One might say this place has a dive bar restaurant vibe to it. However the quality of the food says anything but dive bar. I ate here with a party of 4, and everyone's food was scratch-made. We had 2 (hand battered) fried fish sandwiches, a grilled chicken salad (with actual greens and veggies), and a panko breaded chicken sandwich for our entrees. We also had potato skins and fried mozzarella moons. As I said, everything was handmade so the freshness and flavor was there for sure. Granted, these aren't difficult dishes to prepare but I applaud a restaurant bar that goes the extra mile to make fresh food instead of relying on frozen food and cheap ingredients (such as iceberg lettuce). The service was good also despite being a Friday night between 5:45 - 7pm. Our waitress had numerous tables including an 8 top. Kudos to her. TJ' s is just barely off Rt 528 just East of Evans City. Worth the trip if you live in Cranberry Twp or Butler. Extensive menu with anything you want from Chili to Prime rib on Weekends. We ordered too much but the variety is endless. I had the sausage sandwich with Peppers and onions. It tasted like the ones you get at the fair but with mounds of gooey cheese on a sub bun. I added a cup of their hot sausage chili and my wife ate half of it. So good and nothing like you have eaten before. My wife ordered the ultimate BLT which was loaded with bacon and red ripe tomatoes, served with a side of perfectly cooked and seasoned French fries. The fries were beyond the norm just like the chili. Awesome!!!! When we were looking over the menu for what we would order next time, we couldn't refrain from ordering the JUMBO wings with the sweet Thai chili sauce. Yum! Took half of those home. Oh, by the way , we had an excellent waitress named Tiffany. She greeted us on entrance and enthusiastically went over the items on the menu with us. Wow, what a meal. Visited TJ's Hideaway with another couple for dinner on 8/23/2022. The service staff was prompt and friendly and our three Buffalo Chicken Salads were very fresh and large portioned. The other person ordered a hamburger and said it was great also. My wife and I stopped at TJs today for the second time and we were very happy with everything. We had pizza and wings and both cooked well: pizza crust was crispy and wings not slimy. Pulled up on a wing special night and seemed like the parking lot was pretty full but when went in the place is just huge. Bar is a giant for our area and the tables are spread out with plenty of room. Noise level was good also for the size of the crowd. Waitress was very attentive and came back to check often. Let's start with the food, it's a frozen dinner that has been reheated, thrown on a plate and costs $20+ dollars. The wing "special" was $1.35 each (granted for a full wing) and were cooked in very, very old oil. This used to be a dive bar and went through a major "makeover" a while back... Well, they've reverted back to dive bar status but still charge a premium - $1.50 for any dressing, $.55 for extra wing sauce, $2.25 for club soda - basically they nickel and dime you thinking you won't notice that this is by no means an al a carte grade establishment.
