Great experience at Missing Links! We were in the area checking out estate sales and we stumbled upon it. Cozy little hometown brewery with a nice variety of beers. Indoor and outdoor seating with a huge bar. The service and food were both fantastic. Basic menu with classic bar food. I got the fire starter sandwich (pretty spicy!) and my husband got the missing links burger. Both were delicious and the fries were excellent! We both got a flight to sample their beers and a crowler to go. Another thing to note... the bathrooms were super clean!! As well as the dining area. Usually pretty good, but stopped in this evening with my elderly mother after sitting at the Butler Hospital ER for seven hours, hungry and wanting something to drink. Granted, they were busy, but we sat at a table for 30 - 40 minutes waiting for service. Three different servers walked past our table at least three times each and still no service. I was looking for a lunch spot in the area due to an unexpected errand. I stopped by Missing Links since it was close by. I came on a Saturday afternoon and found a good crowd. It's sitting anywhere and I took a spot by the bar. The bartender asked what type of menu I cared for and asked for both since I was in need of lunch. The food menu is very basic and very meat forward minus usual salad options. I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich. It was fine, nothing to rave about. Beer wise, they had a variety of options. Our favorite new brewery spot to visit when in town. The Wunderbeer Stout is delicious-it advertises as a coffee stout and does not disappoint. Stroke of Midnight Pumpkin Ale Nitro was also a treat and a great seasonal beer. We are avid stout and porter drinkers and so glad to find a brewery with several options. Service is amazing and we have had great food from the pizza of the month, Vegetable, to the Mac & Cheese and my new favorite the pickle pizza. Lots of places to sit and relax. Can get noisy but you are in a bar so that is to be expected! I feel terrible I cannot remember our servers name as she was awesome and waited on us both times during our visit this time! wife and i went to the Butler home show Friday 4/4. Left around 6:30 and i suggested we go to Missing links for dinner. We had never eaten there so decided to give it a try. When we walked in the place was pretty full and we didn't see any open seats. We went to the patio, which is closed in with plastic sheeting and sat at one of the picnic tables. The server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. It took a while for the drinks to arrive, so we ordered our food right then. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and my wife ordered a burger. The patio had a LOT of people at the tables with several large family groups. There were only 2 servers covering it and the service suffered because of it. 3 would have made a lot more sense. the worst part of our visit is that the food took nearly an hour to arrive. The fries were overcooked as was my wifes burger. My Pastrami sandwich had coleslaw on it, but it was very watery and not very good so it was a big mess to eat. The meat itself was just OK, and the portion was a little less than i expected. I had 2 different beers, and at $6 for a pint glass were pretty good. However the food was disappointing and the service lacking. It ws not our servers fault as she was working her tail off, and i tipped her generously. We did mention that she really needed more help and she agreed. Such a shame. Really wanted to like this place but not sure if we will return. Considering how busy they are, i don't think they will miss us...LOL read more

This was the first stop on my group's Butler Brewery Tour. We frequent breweries and had been wanting to check out what Butler had to offer. Missing Links was the first stop and it was definitely the best of the night. From the outside you may not expect much, but the inside is very nice. There is a bar and plenty of tables, both high and low. It was clean and the decor was nice. Our server was friendly. First the food. We ordered a pretzel and also a pizza. The pretzel was good and came with beer cheese and mustard. The mustard was great, we were even dipping the pizza crust in it. The pizza was good. Nothing to blow you away about the food and it's a limited menu but it is good. Next, the beer, the important part. They have a great selection, with 18 taps in a variety of styles, plus a few ciders on the list. I ordered a flight of the Woolly Mammoth, Caveman Porter, Scottish ale, and Stroke of Midnight Pumpkin Ale (on nitro). My favorite of the bunch was definitely the Woolly Mammoth. It's a winter ale, which can be tricky. I thought the flavors were well balanced and it was smooth. The Stroke of Midnight was good, though definitely more spices than pumpkin. All four beers were enjoyable and I would drink them again. I would have loved to try some others but we had other stops to get to. Overall Missing Links was a great experience. I would definitely go back to try some of the other beers and see what new ones they release. read more

I am giving 3 stars simply based upon our first visit. In the hopes of trying somewhere new we traveled to Missing Links. It was a Saturday evening and the place was packed. It was a bit confusing as to how you check I. For waiting list. Wife found a server and added our name. We waited quite a bit as folks seemed to want to just sit and talk while nursing their beers. While we were waiting an older gentleman tried to skip line and take a table as it opened. This because protocol/procedures are not clearly defined. They had a two person music group inn the evening we visited. The folks were good, how music was WAY TOO loud. When we were finally a seated my wife and I couldn't hear each other at the small table without screaming at each other. Again, they were decent but so damn loud. Beer... not great. Food.... not bad, my burger was good. Apps selection not great. My wife quickly realized that the pretzel apps oN menu were juSt frozen pretzels from Sams Club. Were ordered the regular pretzel bites were just a Sams soft pretzel cut in pieces. I would possibly go back if there was no band and the beer improved. read more

I've been coming to missing links since the places opened. It's been there for years and I just have to say the food is always consistent and good and just trouble free. Portion sizes are perfect, you don't leave the place hungry and the beer there is always good and reasonably priced too! We love this place! My husband and I had a couple of the IPA's and they were both top notch! We didn't eat there (we had already eaten) but the pizzas looked and smelled wonderful. My husband mentioned several times they should consider bringing their brewery to our hometown but I don't think they wanted to move to NC. read more

Missing Links just keeps getting better and better. We first visited them on opening night and over the years we would return periodically to see what was new. To our delight, we watched them go from bland to grand. We visit a lot of breweries in our area as well as others across the U.S. when we are traveling and we feel comfortable saying Missing Links is in our top five list. What we like: 1. Really good beer! They always have the classic, "go to" Ale, Lager and IPA that pleases folks who just love a "regular" tasting beer and then they produce well crafted, balanced beers for those who like to try something different from time to time. 2. Good eats and plenty on the plate. We have had a lot of meals here and can honestly say that we can't recall one time that we didn't enjoy what we got. 3. Cleanliness. The dining/drinking areas and the bathrooms are always clean and well serviced. 4. Excellent outdoor area. The covered patio and stage are quality improvements. What could be improved: 1. Shade on the patio. I know we live in Western PA where we normally don't get too much sun, but that western exposure can really be unbearable on a hot afternoon to early evening. Maybe a partial roll down shade cloth or something to diffuse the sun... and something on the window facing the parking lot?? 2. Server and bartender customer service: This situation is normal in most of the service industry and I get it - it's really tough for owners to find and retain top-notch talent. However, these folks are the face of the business and we feel like some team members have become a little too relaxed and complacent. We come enough to tolerate or avoid some staff members (one waitress and one bartender) and seek out the servers who are professional, fun and friendly - and there are several of them. Again, with this all said; we feel Missing Links is a great gem of a brewery and feel confident that they will only get better! We'll keep coming back! read more

I stopped by here this past Sunday with my wife for some drinks and snacks. We had just finished hiking and decided to search Yelp for breweries whenever Missing Link came up. While the building doesn't necessary look like much from the outside, the inside is really nice. There is a bar with TV's above it to the left and then high top tables and regular tables to the right. The floor is made of concrete and the walls are painted the fun colors of blue and green. Last but certainly not least they have some malts and other brewing related items displayed on an area where the wall is bumped out. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery I decided to go with a flight here. At Missing Link Brewery it consists of 4 different beers and I went with the Bronze Age (IPA), American Rye (Rye Beer), Red Rock (red ale) and Lake Arthur (IPA). I would have also chosen the red raspberry Ale but my wife got a pint of it and so I was able to try that also. Whenever my beers came to the table, 3 were full and 1 was like 1/3 of the way full. Apparently the Bronze Age had kicked while they were pouring it and so I had to choose another and went with the Firefly (Kolsch). All of the beers here were pretty good representations of their types. I think that the Bronze Age was my favorite, even though I only got two ounces of it, followed by the red raspberry and American Rye. While we were drinking our beers my wife and I also ordered a savory pretzel with beer cheese and a sweet pretzel which came with cinnamon and sugar. Both pretzels were quite good with a nice and crispy exterior and a soft and chewy interior. We both enjoyed the beer cheese although I would have been hard pressed to tell you there was any beer in it. My wife also enjoyed the cinnamon and sugar of the sweet pretzel. It's not really my style of pretzel but they did do a good job of not making of too sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I liked everyone about Missing Link from their logo, to their restaurant and the beer and food too! read more

Let us start by saying that when you own/run a microbrewery the most important thing to do is make sure your service is exceptional and the staff is very, very knowledgeable about beer and your own brews. When we walked in we decided to sit at the bar since I was looking to taste different beers for a upcoming tasting we were having in our neighborhood. The woman tending the bar did not greet us verbally at all and what was worse she knew nothing about beer, and in fact did not drink beer at all. I told her I wanted to try the wheat beers on the menu she said there was only one but in fact there were 3! She said she did not consider the other 2 wheat because it wasn't in the name, that they were just ales??????? As a result we did not purchase any beer for our community and that is a shame because a couple of the beers I tasted were very good. read more

This is the home bar of the Renfrew Libertarians, it has an ambience very similar to the Army Reserves barracks just around the corner where all us godfearing true American patriots vote. come for the meh beer selection that never changes (specialties include Summer Ale in the dead of winter etc.) but stay if you must (or leave, if you have priorities) for the stale attitude of the proprietors. And if you don't like it, well you know just what you can do about it (snicker, go to that bar in Evans City that lost their liquor license for "BYOB lunch"). The level of service has declined at Missing Links. The bar staff is not as friendly as they use to be. Visited with a friend and my food came out and I ate my food before his food came out. There was zero sense of urgency to find out where food was. The burger my friend had came with very little condiments. Very disappointing considering the amount spent. read more

We eat out a lot, probably twice a week. We are big supporters of local restaurants and I am embarrassed to say we passed up this restaurant on so many occasions because I thought it was just going to be another local brewery with subpar food. Boy was I wrong. It was delicious.We started with the peppadew peppers And wish we had ordered two of them because they were absolutely delicious. I ordered the pork chop, I asked for medium, it was a little over but it was still delicious. The Porter sauce with it was delicious, the rice pilaf was delicious, and the nice side salad I ordered was also good. I do wish they had more options for salad dressing, but still very good. He ordered the pastrami Reuben. He ate every single bite. He was worried that the pastrami was going to be tough, maybe even fatty, but it was absolutely perfect, he said it melted in his mouth. It was the best pastrami reuben and he had ever had. The local Pinot Grigio wine I ordered was absolutely delicious and the blueberry brute ale was Wow.... out of this world. We will definitely be buying more of that. And lastly, I would like to give a shout out to the outdoor seating they have... Very nice. So if you haven't tried this restaurant, give it a try. It's a small menu but it's a good menu. I really hope they keep the quality of the food up, I see so many breweries concentrate so much on beer that the food fall short. We used to frequent Butler Brew Works, but if we feel that's exactly what happened with them. The opened up with one of the best menus I've ever seen in a Local brewery, and it just went downhill at some point. So give Missing Links a try, I definitely recommend. read more

Very causal place to eat. Not a huge food menu, but the food is delicious. We had a cheese pizza and a pretzel with cheese and mustard. I asked to try one of the beers and they gave me a free 5oz sample! We didn't have a chance to try other beer but everyone else there seemed to be enjoying it. The prices are amazing. Went on a Sunday at 4pm. It took us 2 hours to eat. The waitress was so slow. She kept saying that everyone came at once but half way through our dinner about ten people left and the service continued to be slow. It took her at least twenty minutes each time we wanted a beer. This is not my first trip there each time I go the service seems to get worse. I have had there pizzas in the past and they are always good so I tried the burgers this time.
