This is the second Burgh'ers I've been to, after first trying the Lawrenceville location. The vibe in Zelie is more rural, with country music and an agricultural attitude, but the food is basically the same - in other words, pretty good. The burgers are solid and the fresh-cut shoestring fries are tasty. The beer selection is also decent and locally brewed. This one's also a bit larger than the city location, and they have a small outside patio area too. The staff was friendly and our waitress was efficient and attentive. I will say that it's a little less clean than the Lawrenceville branch, so I'm docking one star. Otherwise, this is a great place. read more

Just stopped in on Mother's Day afternoon. Sat at the Bar and the kitchen manager was bartending. Could tell she was swamped so my wife ordered a burger salad and I ordered a bowl of chili. The bowl of chili arrived literally half full that would not have filled a cup , no crackers , roll or anything whatsoever. I did not want to complain about it to make the kitchen managers day worse. The bill came and I asked " was that little bowl of chili 12.50. She said yes with a smile on her face. I will never return to this establishment. I haven't been here for a while, and I didn't realize how much I enjoyed this place before. My burger was excellent. I got the Maggie's Farm. It had a great blend of flavors. I loved the heat from the chilies paired with caramelized onion. The chili was excellent, albeit not very hot when served. It also had a nice heat. Great food! Service was subpar - it took quite a long time to get food. But still a good experience. read more

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and half the brews on tap. The burgers had good flavor from the meat (not overly done with salt and pepper). The chicken appetizer was awesome. The bathrooms were clean which is always a bonus. We will be back when we are in town again!! read more

I will no longer go to this place! I have been going for years since they were in the plaza down the road. The young kid sat us. There were 3 servers. The 3 servers were going to the tables directly behind us, next to us, and even directly across from us. No one saying a word to us. About 10 mins in 2 separate couples came in got seated, about 2 minutes later 2 of the servers went right over took there drink orders, they brought the drinks and then took there order, the other girl is walking around waiting on a big table to order, they said give them some time. She walked away. About 5 min later we left. NO ONE ever came over, or said 2 words to us like we were invisible. That's horrible service no matter how you look at it. Really great place to grab a burger and fries when you want to go out for dinner without getting too dressed up. Really welcoming and fun atmosphere. There's a parking lot attached to the restaurant as well as a lot of street parking. There's tons of bar seating as well as regular seating with booths and tables for larger parties. The menu has a lot of fun locally named burgers. I went with a build your own burger, and really appreciated the gluten free bun option. My absolute favorite was the rosemary French fries, so delicious. They have a great selection of beer if anyone in your party is drinking. But tons of delicious non alcoholic options too ( I recommend the vanilla cream soda). I'd love to come back during the summer months and enjoy the outdoor seating. Highly recommend and will be back to try some more delicious burgers. read more

Burgers are of exceptional quality and taste. They're smash burgers btw. The staff has always been nice and fast. The art in this place is awesome. It really helps you drift into another world while smashing on a delicious burg just outside the burgh. Very open concept too. I've never felt cramped in here even when the place was full. Diamond/Diamond we put the time in to drive out to here from the other side of Pittsburgh. It's 100% worth it. read more

I used to love this place and their food was spot on but the most recent visit confirmed that they have just continued to go down hill. We went on a Friday evening and the place was not busy at all ( which should have been a sign). I ordered a burger which with an egg on too. When it arrived and I took off the top bun the egg was not cooked, I mean it was still clear not just a runny yoke. I am not sure how you put that on a plate. The bartender noticed my face and immediately took the burger back. The replacement had an overcooked egg on an oversalted burger. So disappointed to see a good place slowly ruin themselves. Burghers is in the midst of sad slide into mediocrity. We have been eating at Burghers since their beginning in the plaza across from Bi-Lo. They were a hit - craft beer from some of the best microbreweries around the state paired with farm-to-fork food of excellent quality, at a good value. Zelienople now has a number of excellent brewpub restaurant options. Burghers response has been to increase prices and produce their own beer. Unfortunately for Burghers, their local competitors produce far better brews and excellent food. They also make service a priority. Service isn't always lacking at Burghers, but when it's bad, it reaches the rarified level of cluster***k. I don't say this lightly. We're talking palpable anger at every table, employees desperately searching for new ways to apologize all while undoubtedly seeing their tips disappear. (Work at Burghers - Work multiple positions! Endure angry customers! Get low tips!). Problems at this level point to neglect from ownership. Clearly Burghers/Zeli is on a downward slide and has been for some time. Increasing prices and neglecting service clearly isn't the right formula. read more

Frankly, I've lived in Zelie for well over a decade, and have eaten in and ordered takeout many times from Burghers over those years. But no more. While their burgers and chicken taste good, it's simply not worth the money. And the service while dining in and carrying out is routinely bad. Even their bartenders (with the exception of Scott, if he still works there) weren't very pleasant while ordering or picking up food. You can get just as tasty a burger or chicken elsewhere for less, and still support local/family owned diners and restaurants - there are lots of family-owned places within 15 minutes or less of Zelie. So in short, I'm happy to pay extra for quality food from local businesses but it's hard to justify paying ~$20 for a double cheeseburger and fries (which are frequently too salty and served in tiny pieces - I get they're fresh cut, but there are better ways to cut/serve fresh fries. Also, in my opinion, if you order a double burger, the two patties you get aren't two regular sized patties; they are two smaller patties. What convinced me of this? My wife always ordered single patty burgers, and I always ordered double patty burgers. The difference in patty size was obvious when comparing our sandwiches). read more

BEST BURGER NORTH OF THE CITY!! Burgh'ers (see what they did there?) in Zelienople does not disappoint! You can "make your own burger" but why when they have some amazing flavor profiles created already for you? They have different burgers affectionately named after different boroughs around the city. I got the Forest Hill - a "blend" burger with avocado, goat cheese and a balsamic reduction drizzle.... um YUM! My husband got the Maggie's Farm burger which was decked with roasted chilies, carmelized onion and smoked Gouda- so DELICIOUS! I have been several times and this won't be the last as it's one of our favorite spots just outside of Cranberry Twp. Their fries are also pretty amazing and come as a side option to any burger order. My secret is to get a side of one of their homemade aioli to dip them in - the rum aioli is my fav! (Trust me on this one ;) Also for all you Vegans/Vegetarians out there, don't FRET! They have an impossible burger option you can use to replace with any meat. I hate to say it, but our second visit to Burghers Brewing Co. was a major letdown. First off, the food arrived cold. The portions seemed to have shrunk, especially the fries and size of smash burgers. We upgraded to the rosemary fries but wasn't worth the splurge as there wasn't much seasoning added. Unfortunately the service was slow on top of our food issues. Won't be giving them a third chance after another disappointing trip today. On the bright side, their outdoor area is lovely and a great addition to the Zelienople community, but it's hard to enjoy the atmosphere when the service and food preparation takes away from the dining experience. read more

Great burger joint in downtown Zelienople, with a cool industrial interior, tons of beers, and tons of burgers. There is another version of this place in Pittsburgh (Lawrenceville). Pros: burgers are so very tasty, fresh cut fries are thin like McDonalds, and one of the tastiest chili I have ordered out. Cons: cheese sauce for the fries was salty and meh. Prices are maybe a dollar too high. Their outdoor seating has no cover from that hot sun. Summary: just a few minute off of I-79, give this place a try, just eat those fries sans cheese! read more

Was excited to finally grab a burger at a place that should be known for its burgers and WOW was I impressed. Didn't know what to expect other than another burger joint but after a closer look at the menu I realized this is not your simple five guys or other burger joint. This place knows it burgers and it's meat, from wild game to a mushroom beef blend to plain veggie if that fancies you. They offer their own gourmet selections of a myriad of toppings or you can create your own. This place IS GOOOOD! This may be one of my favorite burgers in the area. To compliment their food menu they have a generous and broad selection of their own brew which made me one happy guy. Our server was darling and very attentive.
