The place is soooo nice!! The place is small and I think it's to go only. I don't remember seeing a seat or table in there. They have a lot of yummy goodies. The service is good!! The girl that helped us is so patient while we look at everything!! We came in for the dubai chocolate, but we love baklava. They have so many varieties of baked goods. So we finally decide to get 1 mango cake thing, but it didn't have a cake. It's mousse? It's good but I feel like it would be better with a sponge cake or something. It looks so cute though. The dubai chocolate is so good!! My daughter love it!! The pastries is also soooooo good! We will definitely be back to try more things. What we tried was good!! Habibi Sweets is only three years old, replacing another store that also sold Mediterranean & Middle Eastern desserts. I'm pretty sure I've eaten their sweets - I just don't remember the old shop's name. Habibi Sweets, on the other hand, with their assortment of baklavas and Turkish Delights gave me a teasing taste of one of their more popular confections. My order included two rolled green-colored baklavas, One Almond dough pastry brimming with nuts and seeds, a coconut.TD, and for the pièce de résistance, this dark red Rose Petal Turkish Delight that was to die for! I remember my foray into chewy Turkish delights 25 years ago and this one was beyond delightful! Plus, it's non-GMO and Gluten-free! And there's more! I was surprised at the huge variety of sweet treats they had available here. The interior is brightly lit and there are a couple of tables to enjoy your desserts if you wish. One employee was very friendly and helped us out. We got two bars of Dubai chocolate. It was $15 for 1 and $25 for 2. So it costs a pretty penny, but it was very delicious. Visited for the first time and it was a real treat. The woman helping me was kind and answered all my questions. When I mentioned it was my first visit, she even added a sample to my order, which was a thoughtful touch. Everything I tried was delicious, you can really taste the freshness and quality. I tried knafeh for the first time in the past year and immediately loved the delicious combination of cheese, nuts, and honey as well as the texture. Excellent customer service today. I didn't know what to get and the kind gentleman just picked a pound of random baklava for me to sample. I also came to try the viral Dubai chocolate bar! They only have the bar in milk or white chocolate. Dark chocolate wasn't an option. My son and I ate half of the chocolate bar before coming home. The different textures, pistachio butter and milk chocolate was a match made in heaven. It's the first time we tried the bar so we didn't know what to expect. I moved to El Cajon six years ago and since I moved my friends have been telling me about this place in El Cajon off of second Street. El Cajon is known for a city with a mixture of cultures specifically from the Middle East so it's typical to see a lot of Middle Eastern shops around the area. However, because they're so plentiful sometimes you just ignore your surroundings. But one of my friends whom is from Iraq, continued to tell me if I wanted to get the best baklava I need to go to Habibi Sweets! Well, he was very right. Not only baklava, but there was dozens of different types of sweets you can choose from. I couldn't really tell you what they are, but every bite was a new adventure from the baklava to the pistachio rosewater bundles of goodness! I bought a tray of mixed sweets because i wanted to experience different things. And every single thing I got was better than the other. If you're in the mood to discover a new culture and what comes with it then look no further Habibi Sweets. I felt the same way when I do to go to Mary's donuts or some sort of local donut shop that has dozens of different donuts. You better come here with an empty stomach because once you start trying one thing you'll try another another another and they'll be no stopping. I wish I wouldn't have waited six years to try them . The Dubai chocolate bar is what brought us here. It's $15 for one, or two for $25. The chocolate itself was incredibly creamy, and the filling had a light, nutty, Krispy-like texture. They have the regular bar, they have the smoothie and they have the Dubai Chocolate in a cup( which was my favorite). So delicious you can't go wrong with any. If you are a baklava type of guy you gotta come here. We got the pistachio baklava and the baklava with Nutella on top! So delicious we got the machaca cake and the Ferrero Rocher ! Both delicious! Cute newish Turkish bakery. As we were nearby we thought we'd stop in for a few samples after dinner. It's very sweet inside, a real bakery! Staff is very friendly and they seemed to have a consistent line through our visit. I had a Turkish coffee which went really well with our sweet choices. I love baklava so it was thrilling and difficult to make choices. Seeing our challenge we were immediately offered a sample. My favorite of what we bought was the pomegranate on. Sooo good. While mom felt it could be fresher (hence the 4.5) I really enjoyed what we brought home and give this location a thumbs up. Fidel, the young lady who was working the evening I stopped in, was very nice and helpful. It takes a lot of explanation as to what all the wonderful treats were. I picked up a small container with a variety of sweets, most notably pistachio and walnut baklava. Most of their items are made in-house, but some are also imported from the Middle East. They also make honey cakes and cakes here. The baklava was great, and I was pleased they did not hold back on the nuts and honey. Habibi Sweets offers trays for large parties and catering events. I came in this shop on October 28th to do a custom order cake. I showed them exactly what I wanted and I told them I wanted it all vanillla with custard filling and chocolate moose filling. I come into the bakery to get my cake order and it's nothing like the photo at all. It's like day and night. I called the owner and told him that the cake is not at all what it's suppose to look like. So he explained to me that he will be arriving at the shop in five minutes and he will have them fix the cake decoration and said he will deliver it to my home. I still paid $80 even though the decoration on the cake was completely different from what I asked. He delivers the cake and the decoration on the cake is falling off the cake melting away. (Even after we put it in the fridge the stuff on the cake was melting off) He offered me $40 gift card or a free tray of baklava for their mistake on the cake, and gave me ATTITUDE saying "the cake isn't going to look like the picture exactly especially since it's a different color... the cake was NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTO doesn't matter about the color of the cake??!!!! It's time to cut the cake and we cut it in the inside of the cake is not what I asked for. The guests that we had were eating the cake and one of the parents noticed that some of the flowers on the cake were magnets they were not edible. That is unacceptable and straight up dangerous. I went back and got my money. They even got the name wrong on the cake. Keep your apologies, you messed the whole cake order up, and put kids and adults lives in danger.
