I enjoyed a nice creamy coconut ice cream from this Mexican themed ice cream shop. It was very good, but a little sweeter than I would have liked for a coconut ice cream. It was still very tasty though. It cost $4.99 for a small cup. In addition to the variety of Mexican inspired ice cream flavors, they offer agua frescas, churros, paletas, snacks, and raspados or chaved nice. The hospitality was very friendly and helpful. So happy I found this place! Friendly service from Yael! Very attentive and answered all my questions. It wasn't busy when I walked in but became within 15 minutes. Very large space, super clean. I came for some cut up fruit with tajin and lime and champoy, agua agua Fresca. I bought cucumber lime and maracuya(passion fruit) they were so delicious. Did not disappoint. The last time I came here I ordered the same and the watermelon was moldy, I decided to give the salad another try. Came in on a Wednesday evening around 7:30p.m. My total was a little over $60.00, I ordered two Tostielotes, 2 two scope ice creams, 1 small diablito and 1 small fruit salad. The service was good, the fruit salad took the longest maybe 10minutes. The guy went into the back to prepare the salad. I'm at home eating my salad an expensive fruit salad and noticed a few things missing that a traditional fruit salad has. No watermelon and no pineapple, my salad must have a whole apple. Yes apples are good yet watermelon and pineapples are even better. I feel dupped :( My salad has a whole apple, a few strawberries, half a banana and some papaya. It has all the toppings, cottage cheese, granola, raisins, granola, honey and coconut flakes. Everything else was okay. This place is a treat due to the high prices and when it goes wrong it hurts our heart and our pockets. I went about 15 minutes before closing it was my first time going to the one here in California I've been to one in Arizona. I ordered the açaí bowl it's not on the menu so you have to ask for it. It was very good but they didn't fill the bowl up . Hopefully that was just because it was almost time to close. I was very impressed with the opening of this store in El cajon. I have had the michoacana paletas (ice cream) in stores but their selection in store is amazing. They have regular ice cream available but their paleta selection is very impressive. It ranged from basic coconut and lime to fruity pebbles, gansito and cookie monster. We ended up getting a nutella-platano and gansito. They also sell chocolate covered frozen bananas and we snagged two of those too. I have not tried their snacks but they host a variety of common Mexican snacks like tostilocos and elote cups. Their ice cream flavors were unique as well and I was excited to see a mint oreo while my husband got mazapan. Overall a great experience and everything we tried was great. They did offer me the option of making the milkshake with either milk or orange juice. I've never been given the option for orange juice so I went with ol faithful, milk. I've gone to La Michoacana Elite maybe 5 times because it is so good! Their Mangonada is amazing, especially the Ice Cream. I would rate their food a 10/10! The workers there are polite and are smiling. There is not a lot of seating, but there is some tables & chairs and a table for kids which I think is useful but the inside is still nice. I'm familiar with michoacana cause they're popular in Tijuana. When I arrived it was very quiet and very clean. You would've thought this place popped overnight.
