Great place for breakfast or lunch! Small business with multiple locations in Nevada and Idaho. Clean, neat, pretty and well furnished. Beautifully appointed wood decor with many varied Tiffany style lamps. Pretty rows of flower boxes outside. Indoor and covered outdoor dining. Clean restrooms. Busy place at lunch and clearly a favorite of locals. Lots of busy restaurant staff. Great fresh squeezed Orange Juice.

So cute!!

TEN STARS!! What a great find. Old time diner with all the ambience-including vintage cars outside! - and the diner food & service to back it up! I had the slims crusted French toast that came with delicious fresh berries & hubby had the meat lover's omelette with hash browns & English muffin. Everything about this place is AWESOME!! We've been in the road 3 weeks, been through 12 states so far and this was our best meal out!

Croissant Breakfast Sandwich with Hashbrowns and salsa

Good food, great service and comfy atmosphere all in one place. This will probably remind you of your Grandparents home or maybe a favorite place they took you to as a child. They open early 6:00 which was perfect for us the day we came. We had Croissant breakfast sandwiches with hash browns. Not too big, but big enough. At this posting I am just now getting hungry again, it's 3:45 in the afternoon! The coffee was excellent as well. Friendly attentive servers made sure we had everything we needed and that our cups were full of fresh hot brew. The menu is large with plenty to choose from. There is off street parking and an outdoor seating area for good weather days. Come on in and sit a spell, enjoy a meal and the happy atmosphere we experienced.

Now this is a diner!

This is the kind of place you will return to! First, the counter was filled with employees enjoying their breakfast...the fact that they were enjoying the food at the establishment was great. The menu has some creative options, but when the waitress said I should try the chilaquiles, something I love...I did. They were AMAZING. I asked for mine with an egg over easy and it was divine. Great coffee and service. Charming avocado green diner chairs that are nostalgic.

Hash and eggs and the Carnitas Benedict!

We were on the last leg of our trip -- Wendover to Sacramento -- and were feeling hungry for breakfast as we neared Winnemucca. Luckily The Griddle came up as a 'breakfast near me" recommendation! It was absolute perfection! In a charming old diner setting we sat down for delicious food, piping hot diner coffee and really friendly service! I had the Carnitas Benedict and it was outstanding, zipped up with a little Cholula and accompanied by crispy fried potatoes and a fruit bowl. My husband had a he eggs and hash, which was also delicious! A great experience!

Made a lunch stop and pulled up Yelp, The Griddle sounded like a great try. I walked through the back and made my way to the front with what appeared a crowded diner area. I was greeted by a friendly waitress who let me know I can pick a seat of my choosing. I decided to go the back area which was surrounded by windows, cool lamps and had small tables available. I went with the Golden gate and a side of fruit. The fruit serving was amazing. The melt on the other hand had one side perfectly toasted and the other side almost like it was not flipped over for crispiness. Also, a bunch of the avocado was placed in the bread and appeared black with ripeness. Yikes! My waitress was hustling in the back but always very sweet and attentive which I truly appreciated. I'm not sure I would come back though. Glad I was able to try it though while in the area.

Southwest Hash with Sourdough toast and jam

Welcome to!!!!! Winnemucca Nevada. A town of gold, silver and the unexpected. During our recent road trip, we stopped at The Griddle. A locals scene where everyone knows your name. Located in the middle of town is a brown one story building with a blue and pink awning, the Griddle. Open for breakfast and lunch 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The restaurant is very rustic with old world charm. Front row seats at the counter with well worn booth seating as well as a few tables. Watching the waiters/ waitresses is like watching a conductor directing the cooks, a well practiced orchestra. Linquicia and eggs, chicken fried steak, hamburger well done oh and a salad. Something for everyone. The food arrives hot, the coffee cup never empties, a satisfying meal whispers, do yourself a favor, come back again. The Southwest Hash, red potatoes, chorizo, thinly sliced jalapeño peppers, black beans and salsa lay gently below chipotle hollandaise sauce, sliced avocado and feta cheese. Along side, toasted bread of your choice with a wonderful " home style " fruit jam. Today's special, a delicious choice! So... if you're ever between here and there, find yourself in the desert town of Winnemucca Nevada, stop at the Griddle and smell the roses. Definitely, a diamond in the rough. Enjoy!

This is a friendly and well staffed breakfast spot that is kept very clean and organized. Everyone was happy and staff treated customers with great vibes. Food was fresh and well plated, and OJ was fresh. The back of house appeared super clean as I sat at the counter while i enjoyed my meal. Nice and busy at 7:30 on a Monday. Would recommend the stop.

Go here! Us two foodies could not believe how great the menu was, and how DELICIOUS our food was .. we would have just driven past, had we not read yelp reviews first.. so glad we did! Staff was friendly and attentive, and tho we sat outside ( cause we prefer that when weather accommodates) the interior was so cute- original/ vintage looking . I got the breakfast tostadas, and the waitress let me order Just one sweet crepe on the side - cause I really wanted to taste that bacon pecan caramel topping- I never order sweets but wow was it worth it:) Hubby got hash, with a biscuit and gravy - all in all felt like Christmas morning breakfast ! And the drip coffee was actually good too- not your usual cafe/diner coffee. Where we come from this meal would have been 2-3 times more than we paid , beet satisfying all around.

I'm not a breakfast person...but as Kneadle which i was planning on grabbing coffee and a pastry was closed i decided to give this northern nevada staple a try and.... so happy I did... eventhough extreamly busy during a motorcycle rallet weekend, I was seated at the bar promptly, immediately greeted, served with water and late i requested and order taken! Smiles everywhere, food was GREAT! Those almond crusted French toasted were anazing!

Golden Gate sandwich

We stopped here on our way to and from Idaho. Great service. Very attentive. Great breakfast menu and lunch was so delicious. The golden gate sandwich was so yummy and unique. I have never had anything like it. I love that they have sweet potato fries as an option. It can get busy but it does not interfere with service quality. It's a cute diner.

Pecan crusted French toast with bacon caramel sauce

Was passing through on a road trip with the family and this place caught my eye. Got the southwest crepe and the pecan crusted French toast. They were so good I want to cry that I don't have one of these restaurants closer to home as we're heading back to Sac. If you're passing through, do yourself a favor and eat out here. They take pick up orders over the phone, as long as you pick up by their closing time, you should be good. Food was incredibly well packaged and portions were great! These two items fed me and my husband.

History of the restaurant, Opened in early 1900's.

I was in Pershing on business and heading to Elko. We stopped a the griddle for lunch. They are known for having an amazing breakfast, but we wanted to try lunch. The restaurant is very nostalgic with booths and seats at the counter, along with outdoor seating. We ordered two sandwiches, the French dip loaded with onions peppers and mushrooms and a turkey, avocado lettuce and tomato on grilled sour dough toast. Both were great, but he turkey was better. I will definite stop by the next time I'm driving through Winnemucca.

Just want people to know that the griddle added a $10 tip to the tip I had already left them. Not very honest of them. Beware.

The pasta had an ample amount of the veggies in a rich sauce the wasn't overly seasoned. We really enjoyed the Parmesan sourdough on the sandwich and felt like there was a good amount of condiments. Our fries came out completely unseasoned, so make sure to ask for what you want to dip them in!

At 12:45am I was again awakened by the same loud and obnoxious music. After enduring the noise for 10 minutes I began honking my horn to drown out the offensive music. The music stopped. I was then confronted by the occupant of that vehicle, which turned out to be the night manager, named Roberto. He told me that I was not allowed to park there and that if I didn't leave he would call the police.(There were at least four other vehicles with people sleeping in them parked in the lot who were not rousted.) This guy was rude, unapologetic and ugly. He has numerous facial piercings and a neck tattoo and his taste in music is simply repellent. He mocked my age and called me names and ran me off the property in my underwear at 1am in the night. I have been buying fuel and snacks from Flying J for over 30 years and never before this episode did I EVER have a bad experience at a Flying J or Pilot. I have also been using the Winnemucca Flying J as my half-way rest spot for years without any objections from Flying J. I feel that this guy, Roberto, does not reflect the values and priorities of Flying J/Pilot. As a result of this bad encounter, the next morning, I purchased $120 worth of fuel at Love's, rather than Flying J. I called the Flying J later in the afternoon and shared my complaint with Adelle, a day manager. She was very apologetic, and assured me that she would follow up on my complaint. I did not hear back from Adelle or anyone at Flying J. After Christmas I contacted the corporate office to restate my complaint. The nice lady on the phone assured me that the manager and the district manager would receive my complaint. But nobody has gotten back to me. I am bitterly disappointed. In the past my experiences at Flying J/Pilot truck stops have always been pleasant and commendable. Every location has always welcomed me with a friendly "Hi! Welcome to Flying J." Roberto seems to have a different agenda than to provide comfort and hospitality to weary travelers. Because of Roberto I will no longer patronize Flying J/Pilot fuel stops. I will spend my money at Love's or Maverick's. Roberto's behavior is an embarrassment to Flying J, but if they are going to sustain it in spite of the customers I will take my business elsewhere. The boy should be terminated.
