Far better than I expected for winnemucca but the service was exceptional and boosted the rating. The pasta was decent the steak was not so much however this was still better than I've had passing through winnemucca

My family and I visited friends in the area and they took us to this restaurant. The ambiance was pleasant, with dark walls, dim lighting, and diner-style seating booths. However, the temperature inside was quite chilly. The pricing seemed a bit high (average around $16-$22/plate) for the quality of the food. My wife ordered the lamb burger, which she described as being good. My son enjoyed the regular burger, cooked medium well. I opted for the carne asada fries, which were cooked well and served with crispy steak fries. Unfortunately, they lacked a lot of flavor. I even requested their homemade habanero sauce, which helped slightly but wasn't particularly spicy. Despite these issues, our server was very kind and attentive. Perhaps it's because it's a small-town restaurant, but I would say the overall experience was just average.

A pretty standard-looking bar and grill. The burger was solid and service was prompt. If you are passing through with a trailer however you may have to go elsewhere, as the lot was only deep enough for a regular car to maneuver.

Interesting little place. It used to be "Toasted Tavern ", but has apparently changed ownership. My honey and I were traveling from California to home and spent the night in Winnemucca. We were looking for a place for a good beer and a light meal. We sat at the bar (we were the only ones here) and about 5 minutes after we sat down the bar tender came over and asked what we would like to drink. I asked him what the ABV was on their double IPA was. He said he had no idea. Then my honey asked him what kind of beer their Cali squeeze blood orange was. Again, he had no idea. (It was a Hefeweizen, I googled it) He did bring us tasters of each. I ordered the Firestone Mind Haze Double IPA. My husband ordered a Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing IPA. The bartender asked if we'd like to order food. We ordered an appetizer, Sambal glazed chicken skewers with cucumber salad to share. When he brought it out, we had to ask for napkins and flatware. (To eat the cucumber salad). He brought us one set of flatware so I went to a table and got another set as he had disappeared. The food was good, no complaints, but my honey wanted a second beer and the bartender was no where to be found. Eventually, a young lady came and asked if we needed anything else. Honey ordered his second beer. So, even though the staff was very friendly when they were around, we certainly didn't feel like we were anyone special.

Great tasting food. Way more than I could eat. I will definitely stop by there again on my way down to Tucson in November.

On the way to Idaho for my granddaughter's wedding we stopped at this awesome Mexican Restaurant…read more As we approached the entrance the smell of Carne Asada was a trigger for me. I ordered the Surf and Turf which consisted of Carne Asada, Deep fried shrimp, rice & beans, and my choice of tortillas. I really enjoyed my meal. It was Fantastic!! My Daughter ordered Birria Tacos. She's recently discovered how good birria is. She has, for the longest time, only orders Chicken Quesadilla. I am talking many years. It was nice to see she has expanded her palate. Her mom is a big enchilada fan and that is what she ordered. One cheese and one chicken with rice and beans. I usually fly solo going to Idaho and always stop at this restaurant as my half way there spot. It was their first time going. We also had some tasty margaritas!! And a Michelada. The food was very good. Everyone really enjoyed it. Our waitress was awesome and very friendly. 5*

We can always count on its friendly service, reliable Mexican-American food and warm atmosphere. Today I had to make the drive solo for a family emergency and it was a very comforting place to be eating by myself in a somewhat sombre moment. As far as food goes, I often order the chicken flautas or the ground beef chimichanga, which is a filling portion size without making you feel like overeating. Today I tried the shredded beef enchiladas, which were recommended by the server. Both the red and green enchilada sauce were great and the beef was very flavorful. Thank you, Chihuahua's, for always making out of towners feel welcome!

While retrieving paragliders, that flew from Mount Rose all the way to Winnemucca, I stopped here…read moreto grab some food. While looking on yelp, some pictures caught my eye here. I went in and let them know that I only had a few minutes to get some to go food. They said no problem. The hostess was quite friendly. What I ordered: Cadillac margarita Potato skins Half rack of ribs à la cart It only took about 10 minutes and I can tell you the ribs are really good . The hostess that took my order asked what kind of barbecue sauce I wanted, they had quite a few choices, but I just went with plain barbecue sauce. Potato skins were really just baked potato cut into wedges and covered with cheese and bacon, but they were still good. I would order them again. I sat at the bar and ordered a Cadillac margarita. I let the bartender know that I was in a hurry and she told me that she would get to me as soon as she could ... there is no one else sitting at the bar ...she went over to the hostess stand and started talking to the hostess. The restaurant was empty. I sat in amazement. while I looked on, wondering why she made me wait. No customers, no one at the bar ... I guess as a customer you're not allowed to make any demands or want something quick lol . The bartender did have to look up how to make a Cadillac. She did a great job though. The food was great. The margarita was great just a strange little power-play from the bartender. Other than that I would definitely come back. On a sidenote for the bartender: good tips and return customers happen when you give expedited service happily.

Overall, the food was great the pricing was very reasonable for bbq, and staff was kind. The wings were by far our favorite. They seemed smoked. Seemed to have a little dry rub and the hot sauce on them. The rubs were unique with a dry rub and a sauce too. The homemade ranch and fry sauce were tasty. They were generous with paper towels and moist towelettes. We sat outside because we had our dog. Outdoor seating is likely available just for this purpose. Lots of people traveling and just needing some fresh air and space for their pup. The road in front is high trafficked The indoor dining decor was pretty fun! Lots of pigs from all different places and times in history. Had a sports bar feel too. Lots of motorcyclists but there also seemed to be a motorcycle event in town this weekend.
