We like this location for Birthdays, anniversaries and special occasions. We bring our out of town guests here. Today was our 22 year anniversary. The Greenery was not crowded for our 1:30 lunch. Yet service was slow. Many servers were inactive or visiting casually. Attention to customers would be best. The meal for 2 with 6 mormon muffins was $34 which was pricey. I wish they offered a nominal Military discount. I will be back to use my coupons. This is my review for a discount, and I hope it improves service in the future. There are a couple problems with this restaurant, the food and the prices. Food is bland and really flavorless. The mormon muffins are ok but seriously overpriced. The food is also pretty overpriced for what you get. I've had better food at dennys. The gift shop is great to walk around though, they have tons of neat stuff in there so that's what I would suggest doing instead of eating there. read more

The service is bad, the food is bad. I don't get how this place has survived this long. I had the Thomas divan, turkey, broccoli with curry and "fresh fruit" The divan was a slice of deli turkey meant for a sandwich with the stem parts of broccoli that I am sure was frozen garbage with a mystery sauce and a pound of cheese. My friend ordered the Chili Verde enchilada that turned out to be about an ounce of shredded meat and sauce served over 2 rolled up flour tortillas. Don't waste your time or money here, there are so many options just a few blocks away. This place is over priced for the garbage they serve, and the service is deplorable. I love the Greenery! It's a great place to go after you shop in the connecting shops. It's also worth going there for the Mormon Muffins. They are a family favorite. If you have not been to the Greenery Restaurant you are missing out! There are so many things I like on the menu. I love the chicken penne pasta but have to say the the Chile verde enchilada rocks it. My husband loves the New York steak but the hamburgers have never let me down. The sandwiches are great too. Try the avocado one--I crave that one. The service has always been stellar. Very nice folks. I must post that the Mormon muffins are incredible. I often stop by as I live close and yes, I stock up on these things. However they don't last long in my house. Hey after your done eating, you can shop for cool stuff! read more

I've eaten here several times with my wife this past year. I've tried several things on the menu and the food has been consistently good, not exceptional but very good. We had a late lunch there yesterday and we were not disappointed - my Chile Verde Enchilada was tasty and my wife's salmon tetrazzini was VERY good. This is such great restaurant. They are well known for their "Mormon Muffins" which are so delicious. They are baked over the top muffins and they serve them with the best honey butter! We got them to go and they send them home in a cute box. We ate the for breakfast the next few days and they were still delicious after a few days! The menu has plenty of really yummy options. Cute place; nice canyon setting, really fun gift shops, but the FOOD leaves much to be desired. My $10 Avocado Shrimp Louis literally had a tablespoon of what I can only assume was finely chopped shrimp since that's what the description said it had. My girlfriend and I chose to come to this establishment to have a nice dinner and walk around and look at the gifts throughout the place. We were both amazed with our time overall here. The menu has so many plates and sides to choose from. Wow! Impressed. I ordered the Fowl Play sandwich and she ordered the Beef and Things. Both were delicious and satisfied our cravings. We've been here enough to know that the food and service are usually pretty good, but we stick to a certain few things on the menu. The sautéed mushrooms, seafood salads, enchiladas, and sandwiches (especially the chicken teriyaki) are all great, and the one time we got a steak here, it was cooked better than any steak house around could've done. But there is definitely a senior citizen niche here. The portions aren't very big, and the food can tend to be a little...mild. read more

It is very difficult to find good new england style clam chowder soup in Utah. Most restaurants I've been to use coffee creamer instead of milk and cream (the color is kind of gray, not white). I have given this place two different chances now and both times have been horribly let down. My last visit our food was so bad we sent it back and asked for the check (so we could go somewhere else) and they charged us for or sides!! SEPERATLY! Going to The Greenery has always been a treat for me and many of my friends. Through the years, I've ordered many different menu items. Their Mormon Muffins are always delicious. Their clam chowder is one of the best in any restaurant in the Ogden- Salt Lake area. I've ordered various sandwiches which have never disappointed me. I particularly enjoy the sides of their pasta salad and fruit cup. Their Crab Louis is a favorite of mine. All of the above being said, the ambience is definitely worth a visit to the restaurant. The black and white decor with with touches of "greenery" and views of the beginning of the canyon immediately put you at ease. I have always found it to be a very relaxing experience. The Greenery is one of my favorite places to eat. I love a lot of items on their menu. It is sometimes hard to choose which one to get. I try to get a different thing each time i go. But, I usually get the Foul Play, which is a turkey, avocado, mozzarella, sprouts sandwich. It is so yummy. There are alot of great items on the menu, soup, salad, sandwiches as well as a warm hearty entree. They have a big variety to please everyone. It has a great atmosphere. Had lunch the other day at the Greenery. Had Morman muffnins as well. Melt in your mouth delicious. The ambiance is great, the staff is so friendly and everything you order is good. I had a turkey sandwich and Poppa had a hamburger. He loved it! We also took a to-go-box of Morman muffins home for my daughter. She really digs them. This is a very clean, nice unique restaurant/gift shop that we have enjoyed throughout the years. For some time I've taken my mother and family for a special lunch or early dinner, when they visit from Michigan(my home state). My mom(who is 80yrs.old), fondly remembers her time there, and calls it her "Rainbow Gardens"! I once had a bridal luncheon celebration there, perfect location,good food, and over the top service. My husband and I go there and enjoy a bowl of clam chowder and salad or one of the menu items, and also the famous bran muffin. I also enjoy the coupons and b'day club offer. read more

I have eaten at the Greenery twice. I always start off with the "Mormon muffins" with honey butter (which you can get for free if you simply print off an online coupon!). They are seemingly simple but very tasty. On my first visit, I had the Pink Lady (grilled ham topped with egg salad). The portion size was large, and I particularly enjoyed the egg salad. On my second visit, I had the Charbroiled Chicken Club. The pretzel bun and pub mustard sauce were a nice touch. With both entrees, I had the pasta salad, which is tasty. The portion sizes were large enough that I didn't get any dessert. The people there are very nice. The atmosphere is pleasant, quaint. Although the surroundings/decorations feel a little outdated, it works for the restaurant in a classic kind of way, and it is what people expect who keep coming back for more. read more

We ate here for lunch on a Monday around 1 pm. Service was good. I had the Jedda gobbler and overall the sandwich and side of pasta salad was good. I recently ate at the Greenery restaurant in Ogden, Utah. I haven't been there for years and had kind of forgotten about it since it is not close to my house. Upon arriving, the staff welcomed and promptly sat us at a table. After reviewing the menu, I saw that not much had changed and I was happy that the turkey enchilada was still part of the menu. The sandwiches and salads are also very good, although I am not a fan of the pasta salad or the kettle chips. I would rather have a green salad as a side. The portions are perfect and I was satisfied when I left. The mormon muffins are delicious and I took home half a dozen with me. The scenery is delightful and inviting. There is a little store attached to the restaurant and it is so fun to shop at and purchase gifts that are locally made. I started to read the 20 filtered reviews and all but two of them were 4 or 5 stars. We have had good dinners here and I am picky. Now the place is unique. It makes for a fun touristy destination. The are fun shops to look in. Staff was very friendly. Our waitress was very pleasant and nice. The muffins with honey butter definitely live up to the hype. They are delicious! I also recommend the awesome giant baked potato. You can get it with cheese and bacon, broccoli or chili. It was very filling. I was satisfied with half of a baked potato and a muffin. If you sign up for their birthday club you can get a free slice of chocolate cake. The surrounding shops are fun to look around. It was a fun date night to go and eat good food and then look around the shops. I loved going here and will definitely be back for more muffins :). read more

I was a little shocked to see some of the reviews on this restaurant... I Love the greenery! They have a chile verde that is so yummy and their turkey enchilada is the best! Not only do I love the food, but I also love the location. Rainbow Gardens is so fun to shop in after your meal.... I haven't been to The Greenery Restaurant for several years. I went on 03/31/2015 and enjoyed every minute. It wasn't terribly busy when we got there, so it didn't take long to get served. I had the fowl play sandwich. My mom had the pancho villa. She still had her $5.00 off birthday card with free cake. I think everyone that was there got a 6 pack of Mormon Muffins to go. We shopped in the gift stores after lunch. We found a very pretty scarf for one of my aunt's birthday's that is very lightweight. She travels a lot, so she basically packs a backpack. I haven't received a birthday card for this year yet, but I filled out a card again. read more
