Purple Sky Winery was unique. We love that there is a fine dining restaurant near our home, but it felt out of place amongst the surrounding industrial buildings and fast food options. Once inside, the restaurant was beautiful. We felt like we had fallen through a wormhole/backroom and were in another city, like Salt Lake or Park City. And then, they were playing the Beach Boys. I love the Beach Boys, but it felt like an odd choice for the atmosphere they're aiming for. We arrived at 4:30pm and were told that they didn't open for dinner until 5pm, but we could wait at the bar. We opted to wait and look over the menu. (Maybe consider updating your hours on Yelp to separate dining and tasting hours.) At 5pm we approached the host stand again, they asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, they had to discuss amongst the other staff. They came back and told us we could have a table as long as we finished before the table's 7pm reservation arrived. We assured them we would be done before 7pm and were seated. It felt awkward. It would have been great to know they were fully booked before we waited 30 minutes. The servers were both very good, but nothing like you get at upscale SLC restaurants. These were young adults doing their best, but not the professional waiters you get at elite restaurants. The food was all delicious. My husband's well-done steak was perfectly cooked and still moist. He commented that my steak is just as good and his fries tasted identical to McDonald's. He skipped the fries, but we took them home and our teen who liked them. The focaccia was soft and warm and served with pretty salted butter. The lobster mac and cheese smelled fishy, but tasted good. The sea bass tipped over as the waiter served it, but I didn't mind. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. The spinach and beurre blanc were a nice accompaniment. Our glasses were never empty, but they were not kept full like they do at most upscale restaurants. Not sure if we will go back. The food was good, but overall it felt overpriced for the food experience and level of service.

Pleasant Views Finest Dining Establishment! We were very excited to try this new restaurant and had high expectations and to say they were exceeded is an understatement. It's both classy and upscale, yet warm and inviting, making it a wonderful place to enjoy a meal. Service was attentive. Our servers checked on us consistently, and our water glasses were never empty. For entrées, we ordered the Steak Frites and Filet Mignon, both of which were absolutely delicious. The flaky salt was the perfect finishing touch, and the steaks were so tender they practically melted. While the mashed potatoes accompanying the fillet left much to be desired in taste and portion, the quality of the main dishes more than made up for it. The unexpected star of the evening was the charcuterie board. Featuring locally sourced delicacies and unique flavors it was truly an experience of its own. They offer indoor and outdoor seating and each have unique ambiences. We look forward to returning in the future to experience more of their offerings!

This is a great hidden gem in the area. The Filet is 10/10. Staff is very on point and professional. If you don't want to wait on a busy weekend come on a Wednesday night !! Dress nice and enjoy.

I was told about Purple Sky by a coworker, and had to try it. Last night My wife and I had a last minute dinner date here, we were not disappointed! The food was very very good!! The week previous we ate at Hells Kitchen in Vegas and the Tartar here at Purple Sky was above and beyond better than the tartar I had in Vegas. The ambiance was quiet and the restaurant, and bar were clean. Service was above and beyond! Alecia(may have the wrong spelling) was very attentive and affirmative about the wines, cocktails, and menu. We will definitely return in the future.

Love that UT has a winery with tasting room and restaurant. Husband and I have been here twice already. Employees are friendly, facility is beautiful, wines are a little too sweet for me (but they have others I like), food is delicious, and portions are large. This will be a go to spot for us.

Dining at Purple Sky Winery was a wonderful experience. There is lovely ambience in the restaurant... fireplace, gentle purple lighting and accents, white linen tablecloths. Foodwise, the halibut and sea bass were both outstanding--perfectly cooked, incredibly fresh, and packed with flavor. The rib eye steak was just as impressive: juicy, rich, and seasoned to perfection. Portions were very generous, which made the experience even better. On top of the amazing food, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday and they immediately recognized that which was a nice touch. You can tell they really care about the dining experience from start to finish. It was so nice to go to a great restaurant in Ogden . This place is a must-visit if you're looking for exceptional food, good value, and top-notch service.

Celebrated our 20th anniversary here. The place is elegant, wine is great and the food is delicious. We decided to order the specials that were verbally presented to us when we sat down. A steak plate and a fish plate. They were not listed on menu. While they were delicious, we were extremely surprised at the cost!! The waitress never even asked how the steak should be cooked. Make sure to be aware of the price before ordering the special . Other than that, we had a beautiful evening at Purple Sky

Wow! What a wonderful restaurant and wine tasting room. We had the best service from Adam. We ordered flights of wine and a charcuterie board. Adam was extremely knowledgeable and made wonderful recommendations. We were celebrating our anniversary and this location was perfect. The building is beautiful and the outside atmosphere when you pull up makes you feel like you're in Sonoma or Napa (in some small way). The wine was delicious and so was the charcuterie board. We bought wine to take home for our special occasion. When we walked out, we were already planning our next trip back to enjoy this incredible place. Northern Utah has needed an elegant and romantic restaurant with an impeccable menu to choose from. We can't wait to share Purple Sky Winery with our family and friends in the very near future! What a gem!!!!

I also did not go to Sundance and am not here for that so his comment about being *out of my depth* is just dumb. Stephen, book a therapy appointment. Original review below *********** There is a $20 cover charge to enter, and they were out of all of the cheapest ($30/glass) glasses of wine, so we were forced to get the next cheapest, a $45 glass of wine. Are you willing to spend $65 for a cheap glass of wine? They also only have five cocktails on the menu and you can't order anything else with liquor (I asked for a hot toddy cuz I'm freezing and they said no can do). The singer was good and the ambiance is nice; not very crowded. But overall, I would never pay $65/glass for mediocre wine unless I'm at an ultra luxury resort (which this is not).

We spent most of the time in the van and when we did stop at the locations, we weren't able to go inside to tour any of them or even use a bathroom at them, we just stood in the driveways to learn about them. I admire her passion for teaching, but we cannot for the life of us figure out how our $3000 was spent. The wine was limited to an ounce every time, and whenever we asked for a second "glass" the lady pouring would say "well we want to make sure everyone gets some!" - the "snacks" were two tiny pieces of cheese inside of a ziplock baggie and there is no place to use any restroom throughout the course of the entire tour... mainly because the tour takes place only in a van and standing in driveways. For $3000, a nice suggestion would've been a charcuterie spread INSIDE of one of the locations with some tastings and every person at that price should at the very least have been able to go home with a bottle of wine from the tour. I give her credit for starting up a creative business in an extremely competitive tourist city, but I can't in good faith allow anyone else to pay so much money to go into this expecting a luxury experience, and end up getting yelled at by a bus driver and having to sneak around an old hospital just to pee. I really liked her as a person and hope she can take this advice and use it to work on creating a better experience for all.

I was actually fairly impressed with the selection here compared to the other state run stores (so you know...all of them), but what I was NOT impressed with was the mislabeling. I realize this doesn't seem like a big deal, but if you know much about wine, you know that the year DEFINITELY matters. Update your labels, please. Both storage options were from the standard catalog of product they carry/manufacture and were as advertised with no surprises. I left my racks/cubes unstained and went with a natural/rustic look which fits my cellar motif and am very pleased with the products overall. Relative to shipping and assembly, the products arrived at my house with no damage with all the parts/instructions required to assemble included in the shipment. You can definately make your life easier by using power tools to assemble which I did by using my Milwaukee Drill/Driver for the cubes and my Milwaukee finish nailer on the rack. . Assembly with the power tools took about maybe 30 - 45 minutes where I spent as much time on the first cube as I did on the next three combined (Learning curve). Also I added extra screws for the cubes (which were in my shipment) along with some strategic placement of wood glue to make the product even more robust which I would suggest you do. I typically do this for all product I buy that I assemble where you see the results in how stiff the final assembly is at the end of the day.
