Mike (the owner) gives a precise cut and has a talent for giving blonde highlights that read modern and elegant (no dated streaks or chunky bands here, thank you). I was in and out in 2 hrs for a full head of highlights, cut, toner and blow dry. Aside from my satisfaction with the final product, I enjoyed my time in the salon - it's got a great aesthetic, Mike is fun and interesting to talk to, and the alt rock playlist was my jam (Fiona, Killers, Vampire Wkd, etc.) if you're going to spend a couple hours captive in a chair, these things make it a good time! Scheduling and communicating with Mike is easy (text is my preferred mode) and he has evening hours during the week. Yes yes yes! A friend referred me to Sabrina at The Greater Good. Sabrina is an awesome hair stylist and I highly recommend her. She listened to my request to trim the ends while maintaining as much of the length as possible. I trusted her to layer my hair in a way she thought was best for my hair type/cut. Sabrina, her business partner Mike, and the receptionist Emily were all very friendly and funny. I don't Yelp everything, but I had to with this salon. First, this was the best haircut my daughter has ever had and she's had a bob now for 3 years. Flo was so patient and kind with a fickle 8-year-old, so much so that she basically did the haircut twice when my kid demanded it shorter (a constant battle - she'd be bald if I let her, which fine, she can do when she's 18). The staff is equally kind, patient and attentive. I don't think the usual clientele is dragging a cranky toddler in, but they didn't make me feel bad about it at all. In fact, they complimented my annoying kid by saying she was "destined to do great things with her determined spirit". Wow. Can I just like, hang out at this salon and get affirmed every day? Great atmosphere, perfect skill, and they even have very instagrammable walls to pose next to for your "after" pictures. A+ read more

I've had nightmare hair experiences. You know the ones where you ask for a certain cut and then before you know it, more than half the length of your hair has been cut off and you look at yourself in the mirror with regret?? That will never happen here. AND THANK GOD THE GREATER GOOD SALON EXISTS. Seriously. I've been extremely loyal to my stylist (Denise) for about two and a half years now. She may not toot her own horn, but I definitely will toot it for her! SHE is amazing. If you could close your eyes and think of the hair style you want, then briefly explain it, you will get exactly that. It is actually a bit freaky how on point she is every time she cuts and styles my hair. She gives me what I want even when I don't know what I want. The owner is good at what he does, is he exceptional talent, no, but he is good for the price. The salon itself is very attractive and cool looking. The big breasted receptionist is the issue, bad at scheduling, doesn't listen actively to what you are saying, and just your average high school grad, doubt there is any college education there, who spends their time on their phone way too much. I was there one morning about a few months ago, when she was running late and apparently "mixed up the days" and both owners plus one of the stylists were talking poorly of her because of said thing, then she shows up and everyone pretended they hadn't just talked about her lack of professionalism and just overall uselessness.
