The spa atmosphere and the ambrosia that vibes throughout the salon brings that sense ease that your precious locks are in good hands. Starting off with a nice scalp massage to seize the tension of the day then chatter away with gossip and biz of today's headlines. Whatever way you spend the time in the chair is up to you but at the end of the journey you will definitely be looking like you are on your way to some sort of premiere. Ugh Bravo! Freaking love this place. I get my cut, color, facials and waxing done here. Talk about a one stop shop Monique has been cutting my hair for over 10 years and leaves me with gorgeous hair every time. I manage my hair cut timeline very poorly but the grow out always looks amazing even if I don't go for 3+ months. She's also farking hilarious... Rene is saucy minx with a magic brush and amazing eye for color. She probably wants to kill me because I change my color every other year but she's spot on every damn time. She kills the beige blonde color that is not easily achievable ‍ Jessica is a wax master. Perfect brows every time... she is also incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to skincare and maintenance. I'm not one to write reviews often, only when I've had a notably bad or VERY good experience. I hadn't had a haircut in ages and was really looking forward to one this season. As customers, we want everything to go smoothly. I booked my appointment, but the day before, my stylist, Rose, messaged me saying she's sick and didn't go to work. I didn't mind so I wished her a fast recovery and rescheduled for two weeks later. On the day of my rescheduled appointment, just before driving 30 miles to the salon, I messaged Rose countless times before my 5 pm appointment. No response. I drove to the salon with still no reply. While on the way, I called the salon to double-check. They couldn't find my name or appointment. I mentioned I rescheduled with Rose, and they said they'd double-check and call me back. Keep in mind, I'm on my way, an hour's drive. I never got a call back, despite calling twice. Meanwhile, I received a message from Rose at 4:15 pm saying, 'Did the salon not tell you? I'm sick again...' I was about to arrive at the salon at 4:25 pm. I turned around and went home. Later, the salon called, asking if I was there for my 5:10 pm appointment. To keep this short, the salon is very disorganized, lacks responsibility. I'm disappointed. I canceled my appointment, but they wanted me to reschedule again! Crazy. I declined. Anyways, I hope this serves as a warning. It might be a misunderstanding, but honestly, I'm a patient person, and I feel like I was taken advantage of. read more

There aren't words to express how happy I feel that Bravo is open again! I was able to get my hair cut and I feel so wonderful! They have an adorable little sanitization station set-up and are following all of the mandated COVID related guidelines. I have been coming to Bravo for the past 10 years for my hair cuts, eyebrows and styling for occasions. I have had several different stylists work on my hair and they are all incredible. Okay so here is my opinion and experience. Upon walking in I was greeted by two very friendly women. I was shocked because there was no smack in the face chemical smell. I came for a root touch up. I was told to have a seat and within two minutes my hair specialist greeted me. Digressing; I forgot to mention that I had already been asked if I needed anything to drink, which I declined...back to my story, the hair specialist handed me a robe to change in to or use to cover up and AGAIN asked I I needed anything. (They really want to serve you) I absolutely love this! I'm so over getting poor service. It's nice to be greeted by a smiling friendly person, don't you agree? Getting back to the Salon, its super clean and clutter free. There is a drink "station" with French presses, assorted teas and drinking water. Even water infuses with lemon. ( So far I'm loving this) My hair color was discussed and "matched" then applied. Again, no harsh smell. It smells nice. I went on a Friday evening for a fabulous cut by the Salon owner and Master stylist Monique. I was running a bit late because the traffic getting from Westwood to Pasadena in a reasonable amount of time is nearly impossible on a Friday evening. Monique was extremely understanding and stayed later to accommodate my appointment. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a polite receptionist and was asked if I wanted water. I normally carry a bottle of my own so I declined. I was seated and draped with a gown and was asked if I want a beverage. I again declined. Monique and Ruth tag teamed to straighten my hair to prep. (I went in for a dry cut with washed and blow-dried hair) As Monique finishes straightening, she started the consultation and asked me questions like... What are we doing to your hair today? Are we doing just a trim or a more or a drastic change? Cut more square at the bottom or more round? I told her that I wanted to cut off what needed to go so she handed me a mirror and turned my chair around to show me what that would look like. She gave me a few suggestions but waited for my response on what I wanted. I especially liked the way in which she included me in the decision making process by asking me questions, listening to my concerns and also visually showing me, with a mirror, what I wanted and what I really needed looked like. I also really liked that although she is an expert and offered suggestions, she never once pressured me into doing anything I didn't want to do or was uncomfortable with. I completely trusted her. Bravo salon is such a beautiful cozy establishment with amazing attentive staff who really love what they do and it is nothing but a true reflection of the salon owner, Monique and what she stands for. Its a hidden gem on South Lake in the courtyard of coffee bean Macy's and TJ Maxx. Parking is free, super convenient, and this place is a one -stop shop for all of your beauty and pampering needs. I came here after my friend recommended this place. I came to get my brows fix as they had not been touched up in about a month and were driving me crazy. Julie was recommended and thus I booked a brow tweeze with her. She was amazing, fixed my eyebrows in no time! They looked so good after, I was very pleased. Normally it's very hard to find someone who tweezes only, so it was great. She was very polite, friendly and made me feel comfortable. Definitely highly recommended and will come back. First time going to bravo had a very bad experience. Very unprofessional, unfriendly especially Alexis. Went back to give another try she did not even acknowledged me. Excuse me?? Who is Mrs Hassan? Ma'am is everything ok with you? I have no idea what you are talking about. I did not want to have to leave this review but I will make the time and effort to leave this because you Mrs Monique, are frightening and interrogating me on behalf of someone else and I don't like it one bit. As a new client walking over your threshold in a strange mixture of anticipation of an hour or three of pampering, and utter terror that things will go wrong such as my first time there. We save up our pennies, and hope that this time - oh, this time - will be the time we come out of the salon with the haircut of our dreams, that we will, in fact, come out looking like Nicole Kidman, Nigella Lawson or Kate Moss, and not like the frumpy knackered accountant who walked in.  Ironically, we all know it won't happen, but, under the circumstances, we'll generally settle for "looking better than we did when we walked in".  It's a compromise we'll usually all be happy with. But that my dear Monique was not the case for me because I came out looking like that knackered accountant. No offense. It was bad. As an owner you should be focusing on what happened to my hair that day, instead you responded to me about some Mrs Hassan lady that has nothing to do with my experience. The appointment person I dealt with needs lessons in business etiquette. I called to change the time of my 5-minute consultation scheduled that afternoon (my actual appointment was still 6 days away). She told me that usually I need to give them 24 hours notice or my credit card would be charged, but that she'd change it this time. I replied that that policy only applies to actual appointments, not consultations, which only take a few minutes. She conceded that that's true, but then repeated what she said about the 24-hour policy. ??? She acted as if she were doing me a favor. I came here for my roots and a color refresh of my red hair. We confirmed several times I wanted the same red, just a little more vibrant. What I got was a muddy reddish brown, all while being annoyed by loud kids running around bumping into things. The stylist decided to bleach my roots near white and then apply the color, which obviously resulted in a color mismatch. My roots were pink and the rest of my hair red. In an attempt to fix it, she "glossed" my hair, which ended up tinting all of it to a reddish brown -- NOT the vibrant red I came in with. I would have asked for them to fix it but I didn't want them to touch my hair any more. My roots are now several levels lighter and the only way to fix it would be to bleach the rest of my hair or find a darker shade of red and apply it to only the lighter portion of my hair until it all grows out. Thanks for the next few years of permanently ruined hair. I don't know about more natural colors, but if you have or want more vibrant "punky" colors, don't go here. read more

My friend and I came here for our roots and color refresh. Her hair was a "punky" red and mine a "punky" blue. We both left here with the completely wrong color and ruined hair. My main concern was making sure my roots matched the rest of my hair. I let the stylist know several times about my concerns and she reassured me that my roots would match. Well turns out she over bleached my hair. When she was washing out my color I asked if my roots matched, she said "I can't really tell right know because your scalp is still blue. But if anything I will just glaze your hair". A few mins later she said "yeah, I'm going to glaze it". Not knowing what that meant I trusted her and did not question it. BIG mistake. The glaze tinted my hair to black not at all the "punky" blue I was suppose to have. As she was blow drying my hair I kept telling her that this was not blue at all. She just kept saying it was and "you will see it in the light". She even said "you can't see it in this light but your hair is REALLY blue". She also said the glaze would wash out in about 3 washes. So I figured I would just dye it once it washed out. After 4 washes the glaze had not washed out at all. I called bravo and they had a different stylist look at my hair. She told me the glaze actually takes about 2 weeks to wash out (if you wash your hair everyday) and there wasn't really anything they could do to get the color out without damaging my hair. She also told me to wash my hair with dish soap to get the glaze out faster. So now I was stuck with this terrible color for at least 2 weeks. After about 17 days no more color was coming out while washing my hair. So all the glaze was out. Now I'm stuck with mismatched roots and the rest of my hair is a darker color than what I originally came in with. This place was a huge waist of time and money. read more

The front desk of Bravo is the worst. I have been the salon three times with my daughter and each time, the front desk has ignored us or forgotten us. First time, we sat for 30 minutes past the appointment. When I went to the front desk, I was told --"Oh I forgot to tell her you were here and now she has another appointment." The next time, we were seated in the waiting area again to be told 5 minutes later that the eyebrow person called in under the weather. So no appointment. You can come back in two days for our first available appointment. Silly us, we did! Again we walked in the girl behind the desk never looked up or acknowledged us. Then when we said we had an appointment and inquired was the staff in, we got attitude because we were bothering her time on the computer. Once you get to the wonderful women working on your hair or eyes brow, you are in good hands. If you can get past the attitude at the front, you will like the salon read more

As part of my bridesmaid adventures in Pasadena, I needed a place for hair and makeup for my friend's big day. As I'm not from the area, this made me a bit nervous. My hair is super thick, of which I have a ton (almost literally). Past experiences with formal updos have been almost universally disastrous. But I'm not a fan of wearing my hair down (and in my face) for a prolonged period of time, either. Thankfully, my cousin recommended this place; she and her cousin (other side), know Monique, the owner, and get their hair done here regularly. I had appointments with Lauren for hair and Sarah for make-up. It took me a minute to find the place because of my unfamiliarity with the mall, as well as construction out front. I finally made it in and was surprised; even at 9:00 a.m., quite a few people (stylists and clients) were already there. The salon is spacious and modern. I showed Lauren some ideas from pictures that I'd saved and she advised me of the challenges with the length of my short hair. But she got to work and, ultimately, I was pleased with the finished product, a conglomeration of several pictures I'd shown her: a low and messy but structured chignon. Knowing my hair, I asked her to spray it down with lots of hair spray and she really tried. But, by mid-afternoon, it was coming apart a bit at the bottom; thanks to my wonderful husband who made a quick stop at Target, I had a travel can of extreme hair spray and was able to quickly fix it. It then held up like a champ for the rest of the night. Sarah, the makeup artist, did an awesome job! I like getting makeup done for special events because otherwise, no matter how hard I try, my makeup ends up looking the same as when I do it on a daily basis. Sarah was great and introduced me to my current lipstick (Treasure by Stila). The end result was glamorous and classy; it didn't look like I was going to the club. Sarah was also a LIFESAVER and fixed a previous day wax snafu on my arm. Overall, my experience at the salon was a good one and I received lots of compliments on my hair and make-up! read more
