Okay so here is my opinion and experience. Upon walking in I was greeted by two very friendly women. I was shocked because there was no smack in the face chemical smell. I came for a root touch up. I was told to have a seat and within two minutes my hair specialist greeted me. Digressing; I forgot to mention that I had already been asked if I needed anything to drink, which I declined...back to my story, the hair specialist handed me a robe to change in to or use to cover up and AGAIN asked I I needed anything. (They really want to serve you) I absolutely love this! I'm so over getting poor service. It's nice to be greeted by a smiling friendly person, don't you agree? Getting back to the Salon, its super clean and clutter free. There is a drink "station" with French presses, assorted teas and drinking water. Even water infuses with lemon. ( So far I'm loving this) My hair color was discussed and "matched" then applied. Again, no harsh smell. It smells nice. I'll check in after I'm done but so far I'm giving it five stars for aesthetics, personnel and amenities. Ta ta- read more

Best salon experience of my life! Brianna and Jessica were next level - best in their field, and super kind and helpful. Such amazing vibes here. Amazing skills, super clean, and top notch service. I've found my forever salon. A note about "Annie P's" review below: I was actually in the salon when that happened and that client was extremely irrational and the staff was actually scared of her and had to lock the door, I don't know all of the details about why her appointment was cancelled but it's bull to throw a business she's frequented for years under the bus during on the grounds that she needs a hairdo to get a job!? read more

This was my first time coming to the salon and it was a great experience! The salon itself is beautiful, and Anthony was so professional, he really took the time to listen to what I wanted and answered all of my questions. I went on a Friday evening for a fabulous cut by the Salon owner and Master stylist Monique. I was running a bit late because the traffic getting from Westwood to Pasadena in a reasonable amount of time is nearly impossible on a Friday evening. Monique was extremely understanding and stayed later to accommodate my appointment. Upon arriving, I was greeted by a polite receptionist and was asked if I wanted water. I normally carry a bottle of my own so I declined. I was seated and draped with a gown and was asked if I want a beverage. I again declined. Monique and Ruth tag teamed to straighten my hair to prep. (I went in for a dry cut with washed and blow-dried hair) As Monique finishes straightening, she started the consultation and asked me questions like... What are we doing to your hair today? Are we doing just a trim or a more or a drastic change? Cut more square at the bottom or more round? I told her that I wanted to cut off what needed to go so she handed me a mirror and turned my chair around to show me what that would look like. She gave me a few suggestions but waited for my response on what I wanted. I especially liked the way in which she included me in the decision making process by asking me questions, listening to my concerns and also visually showing me, with a mirror, what I wanted and what I really needed looked like. I also really liked that although she is an expert and offered suggestions, she never once pressured me into doing anything I didn't want to do or was uncomfortable with. I completely trusted her. Bravo salon is such a beautiful cozy establishment with amazing attentive staff who really love what they do and it is nothing but a true reflection of the salon owner, Monique and what she stands for. Its a hidden gem on South Lake in the courtyard of coffee bean Macy's and TJ Maxx. Parking is free, super convenient, and this place is a one -stop shop for all of your beauty and pampering needs. (Color/cut/blow-drys, waxing, facials, massages) I absolutely love my hair cut. It was everything I asked for and I could not be happier.I My hair was styled right after and looked wonderful! Alexis does magic with my hair every time, I found this place after the pandemic situation started and I was looking for a place that was following all the precautions, I used to go to a place at the Santanita mall and there was no way for me to go there anymore so I looked for other choices, I always passed by this place and I wondered how the experience would be and since last year it has been awesome experience with Alexis she loves my hair and I feel my hair loves her back, since keeps growing fast and nice. I came here after my friend recommended this place. I came to get my brows fix as they had not been touched up in about a month and were driving me crazy. Julie was recommended and thus I booked a brow tweeze with her. She was amazing, fixed my eyebrows in no time! They looked so good after, I was very pleased. Normally it's very hard to find someone who tweezes only, so it was great. She was very polite, friendly and made me feel comfortable. Definitely highly recommended and will come back. Parking is in the lot behind, free and in a large structure so there shouldn't be any difficulty finding parking. The staff at the salon was very friendly as well. read more

Rashida has magical hands!! Went into for a prenatal massage and couldn't be happier! She was amazing! I then saw Ruth for a blowdry... Who was just as equally amazing!!!! I had a Brazilian Blowout done by Ruth. She was so great! She was super kind and welcoming. The blowout came out perfect and she got it done under 2 hours which was great. Very pleased with the service here! I definitely recommend Ruth for your hair services :) There is free parking right next to the spa. It is the parking for TJ Maxx and Macy's. There's no place like Bravo. The staff is friendly, the attention to their clients are a priority, and they're truly like a family. Walking into the the salon is always a treat. It seems, as it should be, that everyone is welcome. A huge A+ is given to Monique, who is not only amazing at cutting hair, but beyond dedicated to maintaining the salon to its best. She'll always do what she can to make her clients feel comfortable and leaving the place feeling great. I'm really picky about my curly hair, it's style, the treatment of it, even down to how I like the finishing touches. Bravo gives me the freedom to get my hair done as I wish and is always willing to help me find new ways of rediscovering my look when I'm ready. First time going to bravo had a very bad experience. Very unprofessional, unfriendly especially Alexis. Went back to give another try she did not even acknowledged me. Excuse me?? Who is Mrs Hassan? Ma'am is everything ok with you? I have no idea what you are talking about. I did not want to have to leave this review but I will make the time and effort to leave this because you Mrs Monique, are frightening and interrogating me on behalf of someone else and I don't like it one bit. As a new client walking over your threshold in a strange mixture of anticipation of an hour or three of pampering, and utter terror that things will go wrong such as my first time there. We save up our pennies, and hope that this time - oh, this time - will be the time we come out of the salon with the haircut of our dreams, that we will, in fact, come out looking like Nicole Kidman, Nigella Lawson or Kate Moss, and not like the frumpy knackered accountant who walked in. Ironically, we all know it won't happen, but, under the circumstances, we'll generally settle for "looking better than we did when we walked in". It's a compromise we'll usually all be happy with. But that my dear Monique was not the case for me because I came out looking like that knackered accountant. No offense. It was bad. As an owner you should be focusing on what happened to my hair that day, instead you responded to me about some Mrs Hassan lady that has nothing to do with my experience. Now it's either your not all there or you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. That's not my problem. I will be going else where. Good luck with your salon. read more

Wow!! I am speechless. I needed to go ginger for my hot girl fall. I was so nervous, it's a big change. & it's so hard to find someone who you can trust. I've been to many salons, for years. So I finally decided put my hair in Anthony's hands, and let me tell you... it was the best decision I have ever made ! I have never felt more beautiful. The appointment person I dealt with needs lessons in business etiquette. I called to change the time of my 5-minute consultation scheduled that afternoon (my actual appointment was still 6 days away). She told me that usually I need to give them 24 hours notice or my credit card would be charged, but that she'd change it this time. I replied that that policy only applies to actual appointments, not consultations, which only take a few minutes. She conceded that that's true, but then repeated what she said about the 24-hour policy. ??? She acted as if she were doing me a favor. I refuse to spend money at a business that handles its customers so clumsily and arrogantly. I called back ... and canceled BOTH my consultation and appointment. read more

I came here for my roots and a color refresh of my red hair. We confirmed several times I wanted the same red, just a little more vibrant. What I got was a muddy reddish brown, all while being annoyed by loud kids running around bumping into things. The stylist decided to bleach my roots near white and then apply the color, which obviously resulted in a color mismatch. My roots were pink and the rest of my hair red. In an attempt to fix it, she "glossed" my hair, which ended up tinting all of it to a reddish brown -- NOT the vibrant red I came in with. I would have asked for them to fix it but I didn't want them to touch my hair any more. My roots are now several levels lighter and the only way to fix it would be to bleach the rest of my hair or find a darker shade of red and apply it to only the lighter portion of my hair until it all grows out. Thanks for the next few years of permanently ruined hair. I don't know about more natural colors, but if you have or want more vibrant "punky" colors, don't go here. read more

My friend and I came here for our roots and color refresh. Her hair was a "punky" red and mine a "punky" blue. We both left here with the completely wrong color and ruined hair. My main concern was making sure my roots matched the rest of my hair. I let the stylist know several times about my concerns and she reassured me that my roots would match. Well turns out she over bleached my hair. When she was washing out my color I asked if my roots matched, she said "I can't really tell right know because your scalp is still blue. But if anything I will just glaze your hair". A few mins later she said "yeah, I'm going to glaze it". Not knowing what that meant I trusted her and did not question it. BIG mistake. The glaze tinted my hair to black not at all the "punky" blue I was suppose to have. As she was blow drying my hair I kept telling her that this was not blue at all. She just kept saying it was and "you will see it in the light". She even said "you can't see it in this light but your hair is REALLY blue". She also said the glaze would wash out in about 3 washes. So I figured I would just dye it once it washed out. After 4 washes the glaze had not washed out at all. I called bravo and they had a different stylist look at my hair. She told me the glaze actually takes about 2 weeks to wash out (if you wash your hair everyday) and there wasn't really anything they could do to get the color out without damaging my hair. She also told me to wash my hair with dish soap to get the glaze out faster. So now I was stuck with this terrible color for at least 2 weeks. After about 17 days no more color was coming out while washing my hair. So all the glaze was out. Now I'm stuck with mismatched roots and the rest of my hair is a darker color than what I originally came in with. This place was a huge waist of time and money. read more

The front desk of Bravo is the worst. I have been the salon three times with my daughter and each time, the front desk has ignored us or forgotten us. First time, we sat for 30 minutes past the appointment. When I went to the front desk, I was told --"Oh I forgot to tell her you were here and now she has another appointment." The next time, we were seated in the waiting area again to be told 5 minutes later that the eyebrow person called in under the weather. So no appointment. You can come back in two days for our first available appointment. Silly us, we did! Again we walked in the girl behind the desk never looked up or acknowledged us. Then when we said we had an appointment and inquired was the staff in, we got attitude because we were bothering her time on the computer. Once you get to the wonderful women working on your hair or eyes brow, you are in good hands. If you can get past the attitude at the front, you will like the salon read more

As part of my bridesmaid adventures in Pasadena, I needed a place for hair and makeup for my friend's big day. As I'm not from the area, this made me a bit nervous. My hair is super thick, of which I have a ton (almost literally). Past experiences with formal updos have been almost universally disastrous. But I'm not a fan of wearing my hair down (and in my face) for a prolonged period of time, either. Thankfully, my cousin recommended this place; she and her cousin (other side), know Monique, the owner, and get their hair done here regularly. I had appointments with Lauren for hair and Sarah for make-up. It took me a minute to find the place because of my unfamiliarity with the mall, as well as construction out front. I finally made it in and was surprised; even at 9:00 a.m., quite a few people (stylists and clients) were already there. The salon is spacious and modern. I showed Lauren some ideas from pictures that I'd saved and she advised me of the challenges with the length of my short hair. But she got to work and, ultimately, I was pleased with the finished product, a conglomeration of several pictures I'd shown her: a low and messy but structured chignon. Knowing my hair, I asked her to spray it down with lots of hair spray and she really tried. But, by mid-afternoon, it was coming apart a bit at the bottom; thanks to my wonderful husband who made a quick stop at Target, I had a travel can of extreme hair spray and was able to quickly fix it. It then held up like a champ for the rest of the night. Sarah, the makeup artist, did an awesome job! I like getting makeup done for special events because otherwise, no matter how hard I try, my makeup ends up looking the same as when I do it on a daily basis. Sarah was great and introduced me to my current lipstick (Treasure by Stila). The end result was glamorous and classy; it didn't look like I was going to the club. Sarah was also a LIFESAVER and fixed a previous day wax snafu on my arm. Overall, my experience at the salon was a good one and I received lots of compliments on my hair and make-up! read more

I've been a client at Bravo Salon for years and I always leave there feeling very happy and looking totally fabulous. The girls that work there have so much personality and they work well together. There is no cattiness, competition or gossiping that is sometimes seen in other salons. Instead you can see a real sisterhood amongst the women and a healthy camaraderie towards one another. There are a bevy of great colorists Liz, Kymmie and Rene. They're all rock star beautiful, entertaining and extremely talented with color. Liz has been my colorist for 5 years and she keeps me a true golden blond. My hair is never brassy, washed out or damaged looking. I'd trust any one of these girls with my color. Additionally, both Monique and Andy are excellent with scissors and styling. Andy was even kind enough to volunteer her hair cutting services at a women's homeless shelter in Pasadena. Monique is AH-MAZING and gifted , she's not afraid to experiment with my long locks and change things up. I always leave her chair looking like a million bucks. If you're in the mood for a facial, waxing or makeup application then both Sara and Doska are wonderful. Both girls have extensive knowledge about skin care and makeup application. If you want a knowledgeable and professional esthetician then ask for Jessica. It's not just a facial. She really evaluates your skin type and creates personal treatments that are the most effective for your particular desired results. She knows the product lines backwards and forwards and explains the whys and how of use for each, which is helpful for me since I have never paid attention to that sort of thing. She is so easy and fun to be with that you will feel not only relaxed and rejuvenated, but she makes sure you leave knowing exactly how to care for your skin between treatments. I just started coming to Bravo Salon because Nora has been my stylist for a few years now & I would follow her anywhere! She is very good at what she does, she always listens to what I want, is willing to experiment and always with GREAT results! My old hairdresser moved out of state and I was in a panic. Saw Bravo while shopping at Macy's in Pasadena and decided to give them a try. Best haircut I've ever had! I was also really impressed with how clean and organized the salon is. If anything turns me off, it's a dirty salon and at Bravo it looked like you could eat off the floor. Bravo is a premier- top of the line Spa located in Pasadena. The women there are very polite and professional. Its a very inviting atmosphere and the superb haircuts and massages given by these women places them in a class of their own. I'm definitely returning as I have had an amazing experience every time.
