The staff were very friendly upon our arrival and seated us outside as we requested. our server was a young man named Kendall, he was charming without being overwhelming. we will definitely ask for him again next time. the drinks we ordered after Kendall's recommendation were first rate and Happy Hour pricing was a bonus. The pizza and salad were amazing and more than we could finish. The manager, Sandra, popped by to see about our experience. We actually had a nice conversation about our experience. We wanted to take our out of town guest for dinner after a tennis tournament. The service staff is awful!!! We never made it to getting food, we just walked out. I don't know how the food tastes. I was really excited to dine at The Goat because I haven't lived in Murfreesboro since I went away to college 20 years ago and back then the only decent dining options we had were Red Lobster and Demos'. So this "New Murfreesboro" really excites me. The Goat is appealing to me because of it's location. It's in an area that is booming but not so much that it's overwhelming. I like that it's tucked away in a residential condo community and has fire pits, outdoor volleyball, and seating both inside and out. The night I went they had a live musician and I'm always up for some good live music. This place is really trendy and I'd recommend trying it at least once. The Goat serves food like most traditional sports bar but has some cool amenities. I did like that they also had a separate area for playing pool, other billiards games, and mounted flatscreens for watching the game. As for the food, it's your traditional bar foods like hot wings, tacos, burgers, fries, etc. I don't eat meat so my options were few for a Vegetarian, Vegan, or Gluten Free diner. I would encourage the chef to come up with more options for us because eating salad can get redundant.lol But I ordered the fried pickles and they were good. Not too salty or greasy so that was plus. I had a craft cocktail but cannot remember the name of it. It was like a cucumber martini and it was so refreshing. Arrived right after the 10am for brunch. Was asked if I wanted a menu. Well yes Id like to see what you have. Ordered a farmhouse Bloody Mary from the menu the bartender states we can't make that right now. I don't have all the ingredients from the kitchen yet. She was very sweet. I ordered a cheaper Bloody Mary it's okay. I ordered avocado toast side of bacon. Toast comes out with the lightest spread of avocado. $14 item. I asked if it usually comes this way she said that looks very light and that this time of season you know avocados come in bad. I wanted to coach her so badly that's the worst response to not giving a guest what they are paying for. She brought me a couple of pieces of sliced avocado. The Goat is super over-rated. Yes, it is in the area those fancy Harry Potter-looking/European-looking apartments are in...but that's about all it has going for it. I have tried it several times and each time have not been very impressed at all. I just leave thinking it wasn't as good as I thought it would have been. They have trivia if you are in to that and they have little games you can play like pool, etc. but I would just pick probably twenty pllus places to go to before I would pick here. The food was not good at all. We went on a Sunday around the time they opened up. The menu was compressed to brunch type food that was not appetizing. The full menu was not available at all. The server took our order but ensured the party at the table sitting next to us received their food first. After speaking to the server about the whereabouts of our food, it miraculously appears and it was cold as if it had been sitting in a window waiting for the server to pick it up. Went by The Goat today to grab some brunch with my wife while our 4 year old was out of town with the Grandparents. Maybe it was because we got to have a meal without being touched or constantly asked questions, but it was just great this morning. Every time we have been it has always been good. The service was a little lacking today, but I would be like that as a server too with the low tipping church crowd as I got over my Saturday hangover. Brunch, tacos, drinks, tots, all of it honestly. We have never had anything bad and it is different than your typical night out at Demos' or Toots that we have all become used to living in Murfreesboro. I came here with my daughter after her dance class. It has a nice atmosphere. Tall, open ceilings. Industrial decor. Awesome bathrooms. (Bring a jacket to protect you from the 20+ ceiling fans!) My daughter loves fried pickles, and their Pickle Chips were wonderfully non-greasy! They don't have a kids menu, and my daughter is a vegetarian. I get tired of ordering her mac-n-cheese, so I'm glad she had other options. She ordered a veggie burger, but they were out of them...so she settled for a Veggie Gyro. Walking into the restaurant we are very surprised how nice and open it was and very up to date with its Decor. Great service on the waitress. The menu is a little limited but yet that we were selling I'll make some choices. The prices were just a little high but kind of expected. I was so disappointed by the menu (if I wanted a sandwich or burger, I could have gone to Five Guys and enjoyed better food). The ambiance of the place is beautiful, but the shuffleboard, darts, and pool throw it off a bit from the beautiful woodwork. FAVORITE SPOT IN MURFREESBORO. Food is amazing. Service is great. Drinks are on point. We come every time we are in town and it never disappoints. Today we tried their brunch for the first time and it was so delish!!! The limosa was the best drink. We had heard rave reviews but my food experience left a lot to be desired. Service was very slow, the naked burger had the consistency of a hockey puck and one of the orders was completely wrong so that guest in our party had to wait for it to be corrected, which they did and even offered to take it off the bill, which we declined. By the time their order was served, the rest of us were almost done eating. The atmosphere was nice. What we had heard about. We had a party of about 8-9 people and were seated initially at a bar-height table, which was uncomfortable for a couple of people in our party.
