This was disappointing. When I walked in it's absolutely beautiful. My expectations were very high especially seeing an establishment set up the way The Goat was. But when it came to the food expectations fell, drastically. The wings were deep fried to the point that it tasted like tree bark. Then the wafer fries? C'mom! Chic-fil-A has perfected wafer fries and that's a national chain. Maybe set timer down a 1:30-2 min so they're softer. Why is the blue cheese so runny? It should be thick and sticking to the wings or fries. More ended up on the table than in my mouth. My burger was supposed to be a smash burger cooked well but no flavor. Sorry you have a beautiful place if the food matched the location you guys could be making a killing. Get someone that knows how to cook. Especially someone that knows how to use a deep fryer. You have three types of starch sides: fries, wafer fries and tater-tots. No onion rings? What if I wanted bacon and sautéed onions on my burger. Learn from the big boys in NYC, LA and Chicago, don't let your menu limit you. Customers want variety and customization of their food. No one want hear " no only what's on the menu" or "no we can't do that." If you "can't" do something for a customer you have no business being in the restaurant business let alone bar food business bc these items are simple. If your offended, I get it but I gather your an adult, whose in business, this comes with the territory. I'm pissed bc in today's economy wings and a burger should have been Aced and I feel I got ripped off. read more

We went to the pool and received poor service from the bar window guy. He was rude and didn't acknowledge us until the third time getting his attention. He was literally pacing back and forth in front of me and my friend, look for something to do! It was terrible! We ordered a drink at the bar. Then we sat out on the pool chairs and usually the goat has waiters go around and take orders at the pool. She stopped at everyone else's group besides ours. She can clearly see we had drinks from the bar. So my friend got her attention and asked, "can we order drink from you?" The waitress said yes and WALKED AWAY!!! We would wave her over and she would blatantly ignored us. We did notice all the groups she was serving and checking on were all white people. We were the only brown people there that day. I firmly believe she didn't provide us service because we weren't white. They need to hire new people whom aren't discriminating towards brown people. It's sickening. read more

My wife and I were driving back home to Atlanta (from Nashville) and decided to stop in Murfreesboro for lunch. My wife looked at yelp and we decided to go to The Goat. Upon walking in we saw two seats at the bar and decided to take a seat there. It took our bartender a little longer than normal to take our order but, I chalked that up to us not understand thing we could only order from the brunch menu (not the lunch & brunch menus). We got placed our order of fried pickles and two orders of huevos rancheros at 1:00pm (I do know it was around the 10 minute mark of the San Francisco 49ers game which was right in front of us). We got our fried pickles maybe around 1:20pm which was fine. The problem though was the huevos rancheros. We asked our bartender multiple times about the meal. It was after halftime of the game when she told us that the chefs take "9 minutes to cook eggs" (this was at least at 1:35pm). At 1:45pm she explained to the people next to us how the kitchen was behind. I remember looking at the kitchen at this point because one of the cooks was taking off his apron and walking out of the back. Also, all of these times are pretty accurate as they have a clock right next to the serving window that faces the bar. At 1:50pm I went to the front to speak to the manager. At this point the hostess went to get the manager. After waiting for 5 minutes up front, I returned to my seat and the manager came over. She explained to me that there was a computer issue that they were closing at 5pm to fix, she also explained that the kitchen is understaffed. She explained that she would go to check on our meal as we had been waiting 50 minutes at this point. This was the last time I saw her. Roughly 5 minutes later our bartender came to ask what the problem was. I explained that we have been waiting around an hour for our food. It would have been nice to have been told about all of the issues when we sat down. "Hi we are experiencing technical difficulties today with our computer system (or understaffed kitchen), please hang in there with us as it may take a little longer than usual today". (Just my opinion for what its worth). Our bartender took my card and I paid for the fried pickles and we left at 2:05pm. 1 hour for some fried pickles... thats just too long. We are very disappointed in our experience. We drove back towards the interstate and ended up driving through Arby's to get a roast beef sandwich and some chicken tenders, this took 2 minutes. I am not only disappointed in what was listed above but I am disappointed in the fact that the manager didn't comp the fried pickles. But that might have required her coming back to us. read more

Loved, loved, loved this place. Found on Yelp. If I hadn't we never would have come across as it is pretty hidden . We had the Chicken Queso Dip as an appetizer and man oh man it was yummy . I had the Chicken Jerk tacos and yes very good but small . My wife had a Chicken wrap and was very satisfied with both taste and the Tater Tots that come with are like no other. So excited to try the Goat! We had a wonderful meal and great service! The hot chicken dip with the Tiny chopped pickles was superb. Really great appetizer. Never heard of this place. But so glad a friend suggested for happy hour! DELICIOUS. The blueberry mule was great and they definitely put liquor in it. Pizza was great, so was the wraps and burgers and fried pickles were on point. Only thing the fries were cold, but the really friendly waitress immediately apologized and replaced. The ambience is welcoming, nice, clean, and the staff is extremely friendly. They were not social distancing ppl when seating however. We will definitely be back! read more

This was an interesting place. It is attached to an apartment complex- so don't let the "amenities" fool you. Just stopped in for some brief drinks later at night since it was one of the few open in the area. The old bank atmosphere was pretty cool. Plenty of TV's if you are into sports. The menu has changed and not for the better! Got rid of some items and got several new ones. Everything's smaller portion size but costs more! I have yet to get a decent burger from here. Not only was the food 5 stars but so was the service. Our waiter was incredibly nice and attentive. I ordered the pork carnitas tacos and they were absolutely hands down delicious. Also beautifully served. The fried pickles were also amazing. Our son got the chicken tenders and he was happy with them. We also got some burgers and everything was cooked well and served quickly. Heard a lot of good things about the Goat so I decided to order in via a delivery service the other day. I ordered the pickle chips appetizer, a Halfaloaf sandwi h, and my son had the Your Name Here Burger. The pickle chips tasted great and came with bleu cheese and chipotle ranch dipping sauces. Both were tasty and my only complaint would be that the pickle chips were soggy. Not to the point of being inedible, but there was no crunch. My son seemed on the fence with his burger. He said it wasn't bad, but was a bit bland. My sandwich, on the other hand, was out of this world! The full sandwich is huge, with lots of meat and we'll dressed. The flavor is absolutely fantastic and I've been craving this sandwich ever since trying it. It will definitely fill you up and is full of flavor without being full of salt. The sandwich came with a side of sweet potato fries, and I don't even like sweet potatoes, but these were so good I ate them all. When you're told your order is going to be ready in a certain amount of time and it takes 50% longer than expected I understand sometimes things happen. However when the manager was asked to try and do something about compensation for the extreme delay in time he refused to even compensate so much as a free drink or a dessert. They must be doing real well for business if they can't afford to make a customer happy with a $4.50 piece of cake or a $2 cup of soda. Clearly they don't care about their customers. I was Hangry by the end of my visit...So I checked this spot out middle of the week for a late lunch and there was no wait for a table of 3. First thing first , it's located within a community, so if GPS tells you to turn right or left into a community, it's correct. Parking is limited up front, but if you keep going there's additional parking out back. Granted you'll have to pass the community pool and volleyball court to get to the doors of this establishment. We were seated immediately but drinks followed much after....appetizer much much afterwards and lunch much..well you get my drift. Our server was nice, and apologized multiple times for the wait. However, after an hour of waiting we decided to take our food to go. Overall food was just okay, and the wait was just too long. I feel like this is truly a community only establishment . If your just walking out of your front door maybe the wait and convenient store pricing is easier to swallow, but if your driving 5-10 miles I would skip this place...sadly. No pics... Please preview the menu online before coming. Do you like greasy double patties or $12.50 breaded chicken fingers with less chicken than a $2.00 McDonald's nugget basket. Breaded and fried seemed to be a theme. But there are good pizzas, salads and the appetizer "Pizza Roll" is a great choice. I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH that this is actually one of the reasons I'm moving to Murfreesboro! Lol Everything I've had here (i.e. braised pork tots, pickle chips, pork carnitas tacos, spinach salad and blue on black burger) has been amazing!! Going to The Goat is like going to an affordable restaurant that serves Top Chef quality food. And they also have a fully stocked bar with a fairly decent selection of Bourbons. The atmosphere is super fun and casual. There are huge windows that they open around the bar, and you can actually order from seats located on the other sides of these windows. And there are also games (e.g., pool table, darts, shuffleboard). Outside, they have a couple beach volleyball courts where you can play and/or sign up to be on a team. Overall, it's a fun spot with great food. I probably wouldn't come here on a first date, but this is definitely a great place to meet up with friends or just hang out. read more
