The hostess with hair past her waist told me we would need to wait another 10-15 mins. When I asked her why we would need to wait that long she rolled her eyes and rattled on about the server and needing time to not be overwhelmed. She came a few mins later and took us to a table. Did not speak or thank us for waiting, have a good dinner. On this afternoon we ordered gyro with chicken, chicken nachos, pork tacos. The nachos had great flavor but was cold when it hit the table. Gyro was the same. Tacos came out the first time burnt so hard and inedible that they were returned. The server apologized and the manager also, and proceeded to bring out another batch of tacos that were hot and delicious. Our check was also adjusted. So as soon as me, my wife and 5 year old daughter walk in to "The Goat". We are greeted by the host with nearly a dozen staff just sort of standing around. Not a single person smiled, but the waitress was nice enough. The food is way overpriced and the drinks are mediocre. The big problem was when we got our food. My food was decent, but my wife's burger was bland, overcooked and underseasoned. My daughter's Mac and cheese off the kids menu came and my wife and I both tasted it because my daughter had a look on her face when she ate it. I called the waitress over and asked " what kind of cheese do you use in your kids Mac and cheese? It's really spicy." She went to check with the chef and came back. " It is jalapeño queso." They used jalapeño queso in my 5 year old daughter Mac and cheese ordered from the kids menu! We used to love coming to the Goat. The menu has changed and not a good selection. The waitress took over 10 minutes to come to our table as she was talking for a long time with the next table. I specifically asked not to bring the appetizer and main dishes together and they did. The dressing had a sour taste. Just a huge disappointment and quality was no way near as it was. read more

Outside seating by the pool is nice, but the umbrella on the table flew off and almost hit someone sitting at the pool. 5 minutes later another umbrella flew off a different table. Don't ever order online. I did today and they sent a txt telling me they'd let me know when it's ready. Over an hr later I finally called and they said "it's ready". I walked over to pick it up and shouldn't have taken it but I was starving. The bottom of the bun was soaking wet and the chips were hard as a rock. The fries were very soggy and even tho I ordered a $6 basket it was less than a small McDonald's fries. I love their food but IF I ever eat from there again I will go in and wait on it. read more

The first one was just rough, like it was fried tough on the outside and then gooey gross on the inside, the rest were good though, and the jelly is great with them - Coffee isn't that good, wouldn't recommend, especially if you like your coffee without cream and sugar - Hashbrowns you have super high expectations for them, but the ones I got tasted like they were left in the fryer way too long. Almost burnt tasting. Huge bummer b/c starch is my jam. Overall, I am still thinking about this spot and looking forward to the next time we are over on this side of town. The food was delicious, as always. The service was HORRIBLE. You have hired a ton a people who stand around and do nothing. A table of ten took 45 mins to get our food with zero communication. Then 15 more minutes to get a person food after everyone else ate. No one apologized, no one communicated , no one offered the an apology or cared that we have been waiting. We were so excited about this place. Upon arrival the place is gorgeous. We had a group of 7. We were sat at a high top table with terrible bar stools. They do not fit the table and made your legs go numb. Once we actually had a server take our order it was 35 minutes until we had a drink. I got a wedge salad. It was the most expensive terrible wedge I've ever had. It was literally a head of lettuce cut in half with some blue cheese crumbles and the dressing came on the side. It's also very loud. I've come here a few times over the years and I've always had a great experience. The atmosphere is very unique and the parking is pretty easy. There's also the sand volleyball court right outside! The service is usually pretty friendly and the food tastes good, too. The menu items can be a little pricey but the quality is worth it. If I'm not mistaken, at night it's 21+. This was disappointing. When I walked in it's absolutely beautiful. My expectations were very high especially seeing an establishment set up the way The Goat was. But when it came to the food expectations fell, drastically. The wings were deep fried to the point that it tasted like tree bark. Then the wafer fries? C'mom! Chic-fil-A has perfected wafer fries and that's a national chain. Maybe set timer down a 1:30-2 min so they're softer. Why is the blue cheese so runny? It should be thick and sticking to the wings or fries. More ended up on the table than in my mouth. My burger was supposed to be a smash burger cooked well but no flavor. Sorry you have a beautiful place if the food matched the location you guys could be making a killing. Get someone that knows how to cook. Especially someone that knows how to use a deep fryer. You have three types of starch sides: fries, wafer fries and tater-tots. No onion rings? What if I wanted bacon and sautéed onions on my burger. Learn from the big boys in NYC, LA and Chicago, don't let your menu limit you. Customers want variety and customization of their food. No one want hear " no only what's on the menu" or "no we can't do that." If you "can't" do something for a customer you have no business being in the restaurant business let alone bar food business bc these items are simple. We were a party of 6 in a restaurant with empty tables everywhere yet the receptionist said they would have to wait to make room for us. What? We waited 30 minutes for a table which is designed for 6 people, which was empty the entire time we waited. Severely understaffed and poorly managed. Four ladies acted as receptionist when they should have been working as waitresses. This place has such a great atmosphere and has enormous potential with the right management. You'll love the decor and open air feel. I can highly recommend a drink they offer called The Edison. However, it is inconsistent between bartenders and sometimes just ok rather than great. The appetizers were delivered hot and in a reasonable time frame. The main course took an abnormally long time to be brought to the table. I can recommend the cauliflower appetizer. It comes with Buffalo and ranch sauces. I ordered the chicken and goat cheese sandwich. It was pretty good. My wife's Farmhouse burger was good and we can recommend it. We had a great waitress who was attentive and had a great disposition. She saved the day on this visit. read more

We received some gift cards for this restaurant and decided to use them. I have to say the inside of the restaurant is impressive. We came in just after 1, and found the restaurant fairly empty. We were seated right away at a high table near the bar. As our waitress was also the bartender, our service was lacking as she split her time between making drinks and tending tables (long time between check-ins and slow to bring the bill and to-go box). I ordered the pizza which was good. My wife ordered the chicken sandwich which she said had good flavor but the chicken was on the tough side. We went to the pool and received poor service from the bar window guy. He was rude and didn't acknowledge us until the third time getting his attention. He was literally pacing back and forth in front of me and my friend, look for something to do! It was terrible! We ordered a drink at the bar. Then we sat out on the pool chairs and usually the goat has waiters go around and take orders at the pool. She stopped at everyone else's group besides ours. She can clearly see we had drinks from the bar. So my friend got her attention and asked, "can we order drink from you?" The waitress said yes and WALKED AWAY!!! We would wave her over and she would blatantly ignored us. We did notice all the groups she was serving and checking on were all white people. We were the only brown people there that day. I firmly believe she didn't provide us service because we weren't white. They need to hire new people whom aren't discriminating towards brown people. It's sickening. read more

My wife and I were driving back home to Atlanta (from Nashville) and decided to stop in Murfreesboro for lunch. My wife looked at yelp and we decided to go to The Goat. Upon walking in we saw two seats at the bar and decided to take a seat there. It took our bartender a little longer than normal to take our order but, I chalked that up to us not understand thing we could only order from the brunch menu (not the lunch & brunch menus). We got placed our order of fried pickles and two orders of huevos rancheros at 1:00pm (I do know it was around the 10 minute mark of the San Francisco 49ers game which was right in front of us). We got our fried pickles maybe around 1:20pm which was fine. The problem though was the huevos rancheros. We asked our bartender multiple times about the meal. It was after halftime of the game when she told us that the chefs take "9 minutes to cook eggs" (this was at least at 1:35pm). At 1:45pm she explained to the people next to us how the kitchen was behind. I remember looking at the kitchen at this point because one of the cooks was taking off his apron and walking out of the back. Also, all of these times are pretty accurate as they have a clock right next to the serving window that faces the bar. At 1:50pm I went to the front to speak to the manager. At this point the hostess went to get the manager. After waiting for 5 minutes up front, I returned to my seat and the manager came over. She explained to me that there was a computer issue that they were closing at 5pm to fix, she also explained that the kitchen is understaffed. She explained that she would go to check on our meal as we had been waiting 50 minutes at this point. This was the last time I saw her. Roughly 5 minutes later our bartender came to ask what the problem was. I explained that we have been waiting around an hour for our food. It would have been nice to have been told about all of the issues when we sat down. "Hi we are experiencing technical difficulties today with our computer system (or understaffed kitchen), please hang in there with us as it may take a little longer than usual today". (Just my opinion for what its worth). Our bartender took my card and I paid for the fried pickles and we left at 2:05pm. 1 hour for some fried pickles... thats just too long. We are very disappointed in our experience. We drove back towards the interstate and ended up driving through Arby's to get a roast beef sandwich and some chicken tenders, this took 2 minutes. I am not only disappointed in what was listed above but I am disappointed in the fact that the manager didn't comp the fried pickles. But that might have required her coming back to us. read more
