    Halibut Special

Everything was amazing. You need to book this place far in advance since it is so popular and rightfully so. We were lucky enough to get a private room for our party of 6. The Halibut was delicious as well as the lobster that I sampled from someone. A few bottles of wine and cocktails really added to the experience. Our sever was friendly and on point. On the off chance you have room for one of their many desserts, I would recommend sharing it. They are huge.

Beautiful Porch for Dining! This place is a definite "Have To Do" It's always fresh and delectable! A favorite of ours for our Anniversary Dinner every year. Excellent Staff very charming and professional service!! Thank you for the Memories !

Our meal was awesome as usual. We make it a point to travel up north to eat at the Glenwood for our anniversary. Reserve a table on the porch. I had Pesto salmon & hubby had Parmesan white fish. We shared the almond shrimp with cherry sauce. Took desert home Raspberry Bomb & Salted Carmel Cheesecake. Yum! Chloe was a great server. They are only open seasonal til Labor Day so don't wait.

5 stars, really!? Yup and I'm standing behind that decision I would classify this place as casual/elegance. The atmosphere is very nice with pretty decorations and nice seating areas. We opted for indoor dining vs outdoor (basically a picnic table out front, maybe this isn't a staple but it didn't look inviting next to the parking area) or the screened in porch. If I had seen the porch beforehand I would have chosen that but our table inside was just as nice. Remember there is no air conditioning so keep that in mind. Parking is small in front but we noticed another parking area at the side. Not sure how to get to it but it's there. We made reservations and it would be a good idea to make them. As we were seated, at 6pm on Monday evening, the place really began to fill up quickly. Emma, our server, was fantastic the entire evening. She kept the timing of food perfectly with plenty of time for eating, chatting and simply enjoying our evening. We started with the nights special of warm whitefish dip with tortilla chips. Delicious! Warm whitefish dip under a crusty round of parmesan cheese. After the perfect amount of time we ordered a glass of reisling from Grand Traverse Bay (can't remember the name) and our dinner. Hubby ordered the night's special of short ribs...this came with portobello stuffed ravioli (price point about $35). I would have preferred this dish it was sooo yummy. Too big to finish because we knew were were supposed to wait for the dessert tray! I ordered the night's special of tenderloin tips with pasta (price point about $30). Still yummy but I would have enjoyed the short ribs more Again, Emma kept the timing perfectly. We didn't finish our dinner because again we were warned about the dessert tray and we were not disappointed! We had half our dinners boxed and ordered the vanilla ice cream with berries...light choice after the filling appetizer and entre. It happened to be my birthday so we got the dessert free, thank you Glenwood I would definitely recommend this place of you are in the area and want a meal that is tasty with service that is exceptional. Pricing is higher but for the food it's worth the extra and the service puts it over the top for me.

Got a pomegranate mule cocktail, delicious. Woodland salad was delicious. Desserts (tried the caramel custard, Neapolitan, and canoli) were all a little too sweet, so I would recommend getting them to share or trying one of the pies (which I'm planning to get next time). My only real issue was that I ordered the marinara pasta, which is one of three vegetarian options on their menu (other two being cheese ravioli and a salad). BIG mistake. It was probably the most boring and underseasoned dish I've ever had. I expected something more because it's a nice restaurant, but the sauce tastes like it's straight out of a can. I guess I know not to order it again. Everyone else loved their entrees so don't let the bad marinara put you off eating here

I recently commented on a $15.00 breakfast at Chef Jarod's and Company that is literally less than 30 second drive and 2 minute walk from each other. Look at the picture and for the same price you decide. You can substitute the biscuits and gravy with pancakes if you wish too. Eggs cooked perfectly to order. Coffee cup continuously filled. This is a busy diner and the wait at the door is well worth it.

Much like the small, quaint little places of yesteryear. Typical diner decorations, typical diner servers, and typical diner patrons. This was textbook. It was super busy when I got there, but by the time I left there was probably a 10-15 minute wait at the door. But you know these breakfast places keep takin' 'em in and puttin' 'em out. Since I absolutely despise anything where all my breakfast foods are mushed together (pizzas, burritos, omelets, scrambles, hitches, macros, and fizzles), I opted for the more traditional route of "food on a plate, maybe touching a little bit." It's kind of like the difference between kissing cousins and married cousins. This episode of breakfast will be brought to you by: chicken fried steak, scrambled eggs, American potatoes, bacon, and toast. Special guest, chocolate milk. I'm a little trollop for chicken fried steak. Or really anything fried with a layer of gravy. This one wasn't bad. Had decent flavor, gravy portioning was good. I would welcome it back like a close friend. The eggs were good as well. Since my body can only consume scrambled eggs, anytime they aren't runny or have that weird cooked-too-long skin on them is a win in my book. I would embrace them again like a long lost relative. The American potatoes (or how I always have to ask for them because I can never remember the name "those little potatoes that are chunks"), were good with the ketchup. Cooked the way they were supposed to be. I would sit next to them again on a bus. The bacon. Oh, the bacon. If you're a breakfast place and serve bacon, this will make you or break you in my eyes. The hardest thing I have ever found so far are restaurants that claim to know how to do floppy bacon. Limp bacon. Soggy bacon. Whatever you want to call it. They always claim they know how, then they bring out bacon I could harpoon a fish with. I want bacon I can tie together like shoelaces. Sadly, this bacon missed the mark. I would turn this bacon away at the door. Ultimately, it was a breakfast place. It did what it set out to do. Chocolate milk 10/10 Made up breakfast foods 3/3 Flaccid bacon 5/10

I had barely set foot in the door when the two bartenders at the bar greeted me warmly and welcomed me in and told me I could sit anywhere I wanted. I sat at the bar and as recommended by a local, I ordered the pepper jack crab soup, which was delicious. One thing to be aware of: don't expect real crab in the soup. Imitation only. But it's plentiful and delicious on a frigid winter day. The bartender recommended the roasted chicken or the perch, and living near another great lake and always having ready access to perch, I decided on the broasted chicken. I was not disappointed. It came with four pieces, choice, potato, and a choice of another side. It was way too its food, but I ate more than I thought they would because it was that good. I will definitely return to the painted lady!

I will say service was great. I may be a little biased as the waitress said I was the only one in her section. But I'm going to instead assume it's because I'm such an amazing patron. Hilarious and handsome to boot. Or at least the hilarious part. Hokay. So. As much as I'm a huss for bar food, I'm even hussier for wings. So, naturally I ordered the wings. Bone in, as god intended. Buffalo sauce, as Darwin intended. They came perfectly saucy, perfectly temperatured, and perfectly in a little bowl kind of thing. They were meaty and juicy. Loved the flavor. I would eat my body weight in them, and my body weight is not small numbers. I kept the main course simple. Half pound burger, deluxe (lettuce, mayo, tomato, onion). Added mustard. Ketchup's on the table. Then as my side I got the sidewinder fries which are kind of like spiral potato wedges. The burger was pretty decent. The size was good, but the flavor was a little underwhelming. I'm pretty sure the patty was one of those pre-made deals that come in packages. I could be wrong, but that's just what it looked like. Regardless, if I had ordered a burger that was more of a specialty, there might have been more flavor involved. The fries though were pretty good. They're thiccc. Thick fries save lives. I have been here before, a couple times, and would certainly come back as their menu does have a wide variety of food. Don't be bashful. The daily menu was crammed with the best local foods and in August when we visited that meant cherries, luscious vine ripened tomatoes, blueberries and more. In fact I hard a hard time narrowing down even the 4 salads as they all sounded fantastic as did the 10 appetizers. In the end we opted to share some things starting with the light crab "puffs" (really golf-ball-sized crab/rice cakes) which were delicious although a bit light on the accompanying sauce. Next we savored the small summer salad made with juicy dark purple tomatoes, fresh basil and slivers of mozzarella. Our entree was the pecan crusted white fish that was also nicely prepared. Note they add a somewhat outrageous charge for a split plate-around $16, so our fish ended up costing $66! For dessert we chose the turtle sundae festooned with crunchy toasted pecans and a house made caramel sauce. There's a nice wine list too. Service here was top notch with constantly filled water glasses and a very professional staff. I was really pleased and surprised to find a restaurant of this quality located in a tiny vacation hamlet. Highly recommended

While we love great food, we are not "foodies" who do well with super modern/unique takes on classics - and after perusing many menus of different restaurants in the area, we felt like Blu was the right mix of fancy but delicious and classic and we were not disappointed! Pro tip: book a reservation and look when sunset is - we did the 8pm seating with the sun setting around 9-9:30 and if was amazing. They have see through blinds, but raise them up for the sunset and many people walk out to go take a picture on the beach right outside! It's a small intimate restaurant, so in general booking a reservation is advised. The gnocchi was amazing and so flavorful with sun dried tomatoes and succulent shrimp. My spouse got the lamb and really enjoyed the garlic and sauce Robert- and was so happy that it wasn't traditional mint sauce with lamb. The scallops were extremely rich with the asparagus risotto. We did split a crème brûlée which was just okay (maybe a bit too eggy in the texture?) , but they do use real vanilla bean and overall we were stuffed at that point. They have an extensive wine list, cocktail list, and mocktail list which I appreciated as a lady on her baby moon trip :) best Shirley temple I've ever had with real homemade grenadine made from real cherries! Staff is attentive, kind, and always checking to make sure you're taken care of. Overall, yes it's pricey, but for the delicious food, view, overall fanciness - I think it's justified and worth it for a special occasion! We would love to come back in the future.
