Would give it 5 stars if it had more parking and kid friendly choices available. It's fresh and close to attractions nearby. You have to wait a good 15-20 mins for the food to be ready, but they give you a buzzer so you can wait in your car. read more

Cute little breakfast joint! It's a small little cafe that serves breakfast all day. I ordered eggs benedict which comes with a side of hash browns. Toast is not included but I got the rye which was perfect with a little jam. It was yummy and good portions too. The biscuits and gravy were also good. They had a strong sage flavor. We were traveling through from the UP to Ohio and stopped for a night in the area so we could see the dunes. This place was super close to our hotel and had mixed reviews but we were going for breakfast and not super concerned about eggs getting messed up. Our family of three did have a good breakfast here. Nothing super special, two eggs, toast, ​and bacon. Our toddler had a pancake and juice. Mind you somehow a box of juice was $2.00 (way too much for a box of juice in this area of the country) but it was good. Nothing to really complain about, but nothing that makes us dream of going back. Service was nice, not sure what the other complaints about service referred​ to. Fantastic place to stop for some food before coming/going to nearby Blacker airport. I *nearly* went to Burger King, I was even in the parking lot. Then we spied Captain's Corner across the way, checked the sparkling Yelp reviews and within moments we were sat at a comfy booth perusing home cooked breakfast options. We enjoyed a few plates of sandwiches, and some sausage and toast for my 2 year old. He literally looks up from his book or toys to order "toast and sHAWsAGE" -- so, this is what he gets. I also snuck him some of my fruit salad when he wasn't paying close attention. Food was solid and service lovely. A nice, comfortable, clean diner-type place serving up breakfast all day long. Well the pictures on Yelp looked very good and some dishes probably would meet expectations.. We were disappointed. Everything tasted just a bit "off". The hollandaise sauce was a pale yellow color, and bland.. Not rich and lemony as it should be in my opinion. The pancakes were decent not great. Hashbrowns were good and crispy. Sausage patties on our plate and other guests plates were overcooked. On the plus side, the atmosphere was good, the locals seem to like the place, and the bathrooms were A+ -remodeled and clean. read more

If you're in the area during breakfast time, you need to come here! It's such a quaint little diner in a small town. Walk in and take a seat! Everyone there was so happy and friendly. When I went I only noticed two waitresses taking care of the entire diner, but have no fear, you'll be taken care of promptly. This place has found some serious super waitresses! Now for the food.. holy goodness, it was ama-za-zing. I had the Pier 31 omelet, it was pure heaven in my mouth, highly recommend it! There sign said best breakfast in town so we pulled in. Location: - Right Off Of Rt 31. Atmosphere: - Small and crowded. Service was good. Food: - The food was good. It was just a normal small town diner nothing special, but worth eating at. Best breakfast in Manistee bar-none! Great prices and portions, always lead to a great morning at Captain's Corner. Try the stuffed biscuits and gravy. No really, just do it. Let it be known...The place is small and always busy for breakfast. If you have a problem waiting up to 30 minutes, just go elsewhere.
