Great place for a burger, a bowl of scratch made soup or a home cooked meal. This place has been around forever! Changed names a few years ago, but it was the former cool who took it over, so it's been a staple of good food in Two Rivers for a long, long time. The burgers are made like a "smash burger" on an open grill... make sure to order with the fried onions. Amazing! I ordered the "Saturday Special" which was Baked Chicken, with all the fixings for $8.75! You can't even eat at McDonald's for that price anymore! Plus this was a full meal, with all home cooked food. Unfortunately this is a tiny place with counter space for maybe 10 and I'm guessing 4 or 5 small tables. Not for a group! They also do not take credit cards so bring your cash! So nice to have these little diners still around. This one is on Hwy 42, so if you are heading to Door County, this might be a great stop to get good reasonably priced food before you get to tourism central in Door County! read more

We liked this quaint little dinner and often stopped on way to Door County in past. A few booths and counter space with good selection of soups and diner food. Often crowded with mostly locals. Doesn't open until 10am during the weekday we visited but not sure about rest of week. Dailey specials. The gravy seems to have gone down a touch and not quite the same as remembered. We were hooked when we read homemade soups and that's why we pulled in. Since our visit I have put off writing this because as it has been said, if you cant say something nice....but it was the lack of attention to cleanliness that has bothered me since that visit. We sat at the counter in the small roadside diner on the edge of town. It was noticeably well supported by locals and another couple who found it the same way we did. The counter made for very tight quarters to work within but as they cooked at the grill in front of us and served they seemed to make it work. We ordered 2 bowls of chili from the selection of soups and it was as we waited that the lack of attention to anything clean within view became bothersome. Dirty trash can up against the counter we were eating from, filthy handles on the refrigerator in front of us and a grill that looked like it couldn't remember being cleaned. We love going where the locals go. Connie's is just that. It's a very small diner with a couple of tables, 3 booths and several counter stools. It looks very '50s. Connie's only accepts cash for payment. Come prepared for this. You can watch your food being fixed on the grill. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and my husband ordered the Trivers Twin - a burger patty & a brat patty. Both were perfectly cooked, juicy but not greasy. Abbie, our waitress was friendly and answered our questions about Two Rivers aka TRivers, being from MD we needed an education. One of the regulars joined in on the conversation, too. Connie bought the diner in 2012 and changed the name. It was formerly Phil Roher's Restaurant and was highly regarded. Connie did a makeover inside and created a fabulous 50's motif diner. We had breakfast here. Everything was fresh, including a hamburger that my son decided to have! Excellent variety and even better service. Great burgers, good malts in old fashioned tall glasses, fun 1950's inspired decor. My only complaint is that you pay a lot for sides and the serving sizes for side orders are very small. For example, $2.50 for about 15 French fries. But overall, great food and good service. read more

So the diner is a very small locals place. There are pictures of elvis everywhere and I did like the bar stools and counter. The menu is extremely limited with hamburgers, not a large assortment of sandwiches. They are praised for their homemade soups but I was not able to try them they did smell good. I ordered the chili cheesburger and fries. My co worker ordered the cod sandwich with fries and a bowl of chili. My burger was good for the fact that it had a homemade patty with very little fat in it. It was very thick and tasty. The chili was very bland, the onions tasted liked they had been sitting out for a long time because they were super strong. The fries were nothing special. My co worker said his food was average and the chili was utterly bland. About an hour later I could feel the ball of grease in my stomach it was so heavy and horrible. Our waitress was nice but they also serve as the cooks. Its run by a mom and her two daughters and they all serve as cooks, bussers, dishwashers and waitress. Its quite the strange set up. My in-laws took my wife and me to Connie's for a light dinner. I'm glad they did. Two of us had the fried egg sandwich, my wife had the grilled cheese and mama bear had some soup. The food was just like my mom made. It was down-home hardy fair in good size potions. I got the Tuesday special, beef tips over noodles and it was awesome. Lots of tips and mushrooms poured over egg noodles with a rich gravy. It came with green beans and a nice slice of homemade bread. All for $7.50. Now you can't beat that. read more

I love this place. I went there ever since it was Phil's. They have the best food. My two favorite workers are the owner connie and Abby a waitress. They are so friendly and it is a great atmosphere to eat at. They care about what they put out. If you are a regular it is a great place to talk to the workers and make jokes. They just make you laugh. I love this place. Connie buying it was the best thing that happened to that little joint. So glad I live in two rivers so I can go there whenever I want. This is a very small "locals" diner. It's not gourmet food, it's not farm fresh or organic. Don't ask about gluten free options or look for non-GMO anything in the menu. It's a greasy spoon with great raw fries, hamburgers and shakes. What they do, they do well but keep in mind, you're in Two Rivers.
