The BURGER! I'm 5'10", with hands to match!
    LadyRemington J.

I'd give anything to delete a one-time less than 5* review. Why? Things happen. Mistakes happen, that was almost 5 years ago and they've been PERFECT ever since. Steaks, burgers, pasta, homemade sauces, cocktails , appetizers, FRESH Seafood! Most of all? The staff. My only request for any Supper Club type restaurant? Salad Bar! Oh well .. can't have everything!

Its a nice place in a small area, the wait was pretty long for a Saturday. Had to sit at the bar for about 45 mins.

    Nice birthday dinner!

I decided instead of going out of town for my birthday I decided to celebrate it here! Got a whiskey sour at the bar and after about 10 minutes I got seated at a table! I ordered mac n' cheese and bacon with chicken on top which was delicious! I then got a rum sour during the end of my meal! The drinks were good and the meal was excellent. They gave me a free dessert for being my birthday and got a piece of chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting which was really good as well! The other choices for dessert were different types of cheesecake. In all, the total cost for my birthday celebration dinner was like around $30 bucks with tip! The only complaint I could really find is that it got kind of noisy with a bunch of high school girls in the upper back making a lot of noise! Other than that, it would a pretty good place to eat and celebrate my birthday! Would recommend!

Great restaurant & lounge in Manitowoc. Their kitchen does an outstanding job on steaks. If you're into burgers, they pride themselves on their in-house 3/4 pound hamburgers which are outstanding... but for dinner, have a steak. They also have daily specials and usually several great menu specials for Saturday night. Tonight, I had one of the specials: A 20 oz. NY Angus steak (see the pic) dinner with soup or salad and choice of potato. They know how to make steak here. I ordered it rare. It came rare, but also had a good char and grill burns on both sides of the steak. The plus.... $19.99. Wow. Cheryl had grilled eggplant and pasta/marinara (see the pic). She said this place makes the best grilled egg plant. I'll take her word for it (LOL!). They also have outstanding deserts here BTW, usually house made, as was the Turtle Cheesecake (see the pic) we shared today. This place will never disappoint you.

The City of Manitowoc is not the place it once was, its seems some of the larger businesses that put this city on the map have either downsized or left town in the middle of the night while no one was paying attention. The downtown area and many of the businesses reflect this downturn in the economy and this old steakhouse give one the impression that times were better than there are today. It obvious as soon as you walk through the door that this place is tired, it's dark and mushy and the décor has been outdated for decades. I found the old bar was scattered with a few old timers sipping their draft beers and old-fashions from the same glasses that generations before them have, I doubt anything has changed here since this place first opened it's doors except for the names of the characters pouring the booze and serving the food. We were met upon arriving by a friendly hostess who walked up the step to the dining room like she's done a thousand times before with the same enthusiasm I'm sure. The dim lighting and dark décor is not the ambiance I needed for a business dinner and it's almost as if something was lurking in the darkness and was the subject of our conversation until our server arrived. She was friendly but direct telling us right up front if we ordered certain dishes it could take awhile like she was almost guiding to a lighter fare - well I was told by the hotel concierge that this was an old fashion steakhouse where the meat purveyor brought the beef here with the hoofs still on and that all the steaks were cut to order and the steaks were prime beef and cut thick before being prepared on an old grill that has seen more beef than a cattle drive in the 1870's so I wasn't buying the lighter fare story. I ordered the "sizzler" a mammoth sirloin that was served on a hot platter standing as tall as my drink glass with a pad of steak butter that flowed down the edge of this roast and smoked as it hit the plate below. I ordered it rare after reading the reviews before arriving but it arrived cooked perfectly medium at best, but I must admit it was tender and filled with flavor. Knowing it would be impossible to consume it all I concentrated on the beef and let my half eaten house salad and baked potato lie. Our server checked in from time to time to check on us and even smirked knowing eating this ginormous steak would be near impossible. I felt I was on an episode of Man vs Food and I'd certainly be the loser here. I left with the impression they delivered a good value and that I wouldn't be eating anymore red meat for awhile. This tattered restaurant deserves a visit if your in the area and the lighter fare suggestion may be worth consideration if your not famished...

SO MUCH FLAVOR. Then I switched to the San Fran noodles and wow. Same thing. The cook is really great at marrying sauces, toppings, and flavors. They have a talent because I don't think I ate anything I didn't like. Special shout out to their unique fried cheese because what was that? Amazing. Such a great meal. Service was good but I don't even care about that because the food was so fantastic. We were heading back to work so couldn't drink but their beer menu also looked amazing. I'm a sour drinker and seemed to have a couple good options. Highly recommend!

This place is advertised as gastropub food, which is intended and designed to be quick food to make. My inclination is that they wanted us to wait there as long as possible to keep ordering more drinks. It took so long I thought the chef had quit mid shift. Food: underwhelming and average. Nothing you couldn't make at home with minimal effort. Tasted greasy. Even if it was good, I couldn't have appreciated it because the wait was SO long I was starving and dizzy from low blood sugar by the time it arrived. Unacceptable. Will not go back and would not recommend. I'd only recommend in the event you're practicing intermittent fasting or on an intense diet.

Their other location in Two Rivers does a great job, but I think they are trying some different ideas here and might be working out some kinks with new staff right now. One example is the changing menus. On Saturday Night they do a Steak Night with a limited menu. I have to admit, my wife and I came in to try their pizza and it wasn't on the menu on a Saturday. We decided to stay and eat off their Saturday Menu, but we did see two tables of people come in, look at the menu and leave. Not good! The steak menu was priced (approx) $30-40, and I think it was a bit of a shock when you come in for a burger and fries or pizza! They also change their menus on Tuesday and Wednesday. All seems a bit confusing, but once the regulars are developed it probably won't be as big a problem. Right now, I'd say check their menu on Facebook be for you come in. Tonight we ordered the Smothered Chicken and the Ribeye Sandwich along with an Onion Ring Appetizer. The rings were a little overdone and kind of heavy with oil. Good size, but would only order them again if I knew they wouldn't be overcooked. The Smothered Chicken was on of tonight's "specials", so it wasn't in the written menu. The waitress should have told us it was Cajun Spiced when she shared the specials (my wife doesn't like Cajun). Would have definitely ordered something else. The bun on the Ribeye Sandwich was excellent. The steak was very tender, but maybe too tender. It just seemed that it was missing the normal texture expected in steak. Also, they don't have A1 Steak Sauce (which would have been great with this sandwich) which I thought was weird, especially since it was "steak night"! The only sauce they had was mayo based. They do something I've not seen before with the bill. They add the tax to each individual item before they total the bill. Confusing when trying to figure out the tip. I did find a price error on one of my items, which they corrected when I pointed it out. (Onion Rings were listed at $7 , but he computer picked them at $8.33). Probably a programming error or a menu misprint, either way, they fixed it!

THEN I had LOBSTER ! The chef made it so perfect, tender, like char grilled flavorful even. Better than ANY Red lobster (not putting Red lobster down ) WOW, I decided to tip HER too, the Chef!!! Seriously one of Manitowoc's best newer, classy but comfortable nice restaurants. Check em out, support their small business. Also, come summertime, they have outdoor seating available, TVs for watching sports, everything under the sun (nearly). Blessings to all!

Checked Yelp and read up a bit on Grizzly's; sounded interesting place…read more I was a bit confused with 2 Grizzly's but that was cleared up once we arrived. This is our type of bar/grill. We sat at the bar and quickly waited on by Darrel who is bartender and owner. There was a specials list for the weekend, New York strip; ribs and prime rib. The prices are a little high but what we seen the servings almost justified the price. We weren't quite as hungry to justify a steak or rib; thus we went with a side salad and chicken steak/w side salad. The salad was decent size and the chicken was covering over 1/2 the plate. My wife had just a salad. The chicken was tender and seasoned well. The sauce is a secret sauce of the bar! Drinks were good and priced well. While we were there I seen an order of ribs by a patron; they did look really good and by what I could tell he liked them but he couldn't eat them all. A patron sitting next to us ordered the prime rib; its smoked prime rib and flash finished over the grill that doesn't affect the finished doneness. It was huge at about 1" thick and done perfectly inside to the patrons delight. It's $40 but probably won't finish it all. Definitely when in the area will stop back.
