    Mini-burgher w/ fries and gravy.

We liked this quaint little dinner and often stopped on way to Door County in past. A few booths and counter space with good selection of soups and diner food. Often crowded with mostly locals. Doesn't open until 10am during the weekday we visited but not sure about rest of week. Dailey specials. The gravy seems to have gone down a touch and not quite the same as remembered. Would recommend a try. Cash only.

Sloppy Joe special. Split soup. Yummy!

We were hooked when we read homemade soups and that's why we pulled in. Since our visit I have put off writing this because as it has been said, if you cant say something nice....but it was the lack of attention to cleanliness that has bothered me since that visit. We sat at the counter in the small roadside diner on the edge of town. It was noticeably well supported by locals and another couple who found it the same way we did. The counter made for very tight quarters to work within but as they cooked at the grill in front of us and served they seemed to make it work. We ordered 2 bowls of chili from the selection of soups and it was as we waited that the lack of attention to anything clean within view became bothersome. Dirty trash can up against the counter we were eating from, filthy handles on the refrigerator in front of us and a grill that looked like it couldn't remember being cleaned. Maybe it was exceptionally busy and being a small s and led to the in attention but I can't remember seeing a place so unkempt. Look before you order.

    Best cheese burgers ever:-)

Stopped for the first time since it's been Connie's on Saturday. Already stopped back Monday. My kids think it's the best cheese burger on earth. Raw fries are super! Yum. Can't wait until next camping trip to the area.

Nolan had to have a "rainbow shirt" like the pretty girl he was smitten with :)

Great food. Super friendly atmosphere. My son had to have one of their 'rainbow' tie dyed shirts! Chili was yummy and Connie is right in the kitchen. :)

Is there anything at Connie's for vegetarians?

There was limited seating, but we got a Seay at the counter no problem. They have a pretty decent breakfast menu and a typical lunch menu including several soup choices. I ordered what I came for, a cheeseburger. I watched them make it on the grill. They started out with a handful of fresh ground beef. Then they smashed it nearly paper thin. The patty was thin and big around. They put slices onions and seasonings on it. When they flipped it over, the onions were grilled into the burger. They also pit a slice of cheese and the top of the bun on.. when it was finished the put it on the bottom half of the bun with the condiments. This burger was very good. What put the burger over the top was the fresh baked bun they used. I was told their buns are brought in fresh daily from a Bakery in Two Rivers. This will be on my best burger list.

We stopped in for lunch, it was busy the tables were full so we sat at the bar. After reviewing the menu, I decided on the cheeseburger boat. It included a cheeseburger and fries. They have an open concept, so you can see the cook, making the deliciousness right there. They use fresh ground beef and the buns are from a local bakery. My burger was cooked perfectly and was delicious! The fries were crispy and golden. We can see why this is a local favorite and will eb hack when a burger craving strikes! FYI-They are cash only so be prepares if you visit.

This place is advertised as gastropub food, which is intended and designed to be quick food to make. My inclination is that they wanted us to wait there as long as possible to keep ordering more drinks. It took so long I thought the chef had quit mid shift. Food: underwhelming and average. Nothing you couldn't make at home with minimal effort. Tasted greasy. Even if it was good, I couldn't have appreciated it because the wait was SO long I was starving and dizzy from low blood sugar by the time it arrived. Unacceptable. Will not go back and would not recommend. I'd only recommend in the event you're practicing intermittent fasting or on an intense diet.

It's a weathered looking bar/restaurant which just adds to its overall flavor. The restaurant is long and spacious. We were quickly seated and waited on. I had the bowl of spicy Noods and my wife had the spring roll bowl. Both were very good but I liked mine the best. Nice little gem in the heart of Manitowoc. Hopefully will stop again!
