I love to try BBQ places. So I saw that this place was close enough to head for a meal. I viewed the menu beforehand and had my meal picked out. The sampler platter, 3 bones and 3 meats. What I got was a sample. First off there was only 2 bones, but all the other meats were just a couple of small slices. It was easy to finish everything and we were still hungry. I have never gotten so little food on a BVQ sampler platter in my life. I have been to some higher gourmet BBQ places and paid maybe a couple dollars more, but I always left with leftovers. The smoke was weak and they automatically sauce items instead of letting you taste the meats and adding your own sauce. This tells me that they are hiding something. Doesn't take an Einstein to figure this one out.... as long as you can find them, currently your best bet is to notice on the north side of 10, an auto type 'strip business' building with a LARGE front parking area, then you'll see a huge pile of wood on the left side of the building near the front, that's it! The most glorious lean, smoked ham and brisket! And I despise fat.... ! The pulled pork, delicious; and finally the smoked turkey.. I am NOT cooking turkey this thanksgiving, I'm gonna get about 6-7lbs of Markos smoked turkey, make some homemade cranberry sauce and giblet gravy, and save myself some time and cleanup! Smiling and NICE owner and waitress too! Very small seating area, so not a good idea to bring in a large eat-in party. My wish is that they'll bring this BBQ to Two Rivers! I made a suggestion of Brunswick stew and have Texas toast available for an add on. Also, a family meal/package wouldn't be a bad idea either. It took me about a 1/2hr to drive here from TR, but I'll gladly drive it, the BBQ place in Manitowoc is run by very rude folks, 'closer, but no cigar' !!!!!!! Have truck, will drive! Disappointed. We were excited to try Marko's and had heard good things. We picked out a sampler dinner, and a full rack rib dinner. We tried 3 sides...waffle fries, potato salad and baked beans. There were a number of things that were disappointing: Portion Size: Quite light. We have ordered rib dinners before from Neenah and Menasha outfits and the bag was so lightweight from Marko's that my daughter thought maybe something was missing. In the end, it was just that portions were on the small side overall. The qty of the meat in the sampler was fine, the rack of ribs in the full rack dinner was the smallest full rack I've ever seen....it all fit perfectly in the take-out WITH the sides....many restaurants can't fit a full rack dinner in a standard take out container. While the bean and potato sides were typical, the fries that came with the dinner was miniscule. Literally about 4-5 waffle fries at most. Finally, we saw on their website that they have multiple sauces, and I had wanted to try the spicy...when my daughter picked up the dinner, they did not offer any sauce nor was there any extra included with the order. Not a deal breaker, but would have been nice had they asked us about needing/wanting sauce. Quality/Freshness: In the sampler dinner, the pork belly tasted OLD and was not edible. This amounted to a 3rd of our meat in the sampler. Freshness on everything else was fine. Taste: The beans seem to have cinnamon or something, kind of an odd bean taste. The ribs are not unctuos or meaty. When ribs are great, we always eat more than we should....one or 2 ribs past full. In this case 2 out of 3 of us didn't even go for a 2nd helping. I can't say why this was, but they are just "ok" and my own oven ribs are better than these. Also, the cornbread was just "meh". Potato salad was "ok" but nothing I'd order again. Cost/Portion ratio: We spent $65 on the two dinners and luckily, had ordered a large portion of fries added on. The three of us ate with some rib leftovers, but only because we weren't enthusiastic about the taste. It is expensive for what you get. In Neenah, Bay Point Bar & Grill's Thursday special rib rack is priced similarly and you get two large containers...one for the ribs and one for the sides. WAY more food in that order. read more

Two Comments.. Terrible Food. Terrible Family Environment. First off the BBQ was very very mediocre. Have you ever had the frozen Jack Daniel's pulled pork that you can get at the grocery store? Yeah just buy that -it's way better then this place. The sides were stale and unappetizing. The BBQ tasted like it just came out of a microwave and the sauces were not anything I would ever recommend. Too sweet and not enough varieties. Secondly, the place seems friendly and welcoming to family's -it is very much not. We were the only patrons in the restaurant for its last hour and my sister has a 1 1/2 year old boy. I was in town because I moved far away from work so we just visited our grandma at the assisted living down the street and went to grab a quick dinner. The night was going perfectly fine until as babies need, a changing was in order. My sister and her boyfriend looked in both bathrooms to see if there was space to change, there was not. Since it is very cold outside in November and no one was in the restaurant my sister decided to change him on her lap with her boyfriend and grandpa to assist. We immediately were yelled at by a young woman at the counter saying that you cannot do that in her because it is a restaurant and there are people eating here. First off, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Secondly, the changing was being done on my sister's lap with a changing pad and plenty of extra help. My sister, boyfriend, and grandpa ran into the bathroom and I told her how rude it was to feel so I unwelcome at the establishment. If you don't have a changing table or you are not family friendly please state this at the door so we can better plan ahead. We were very courteous in what needed to be done to change the baby, but this young women's attitude was demanding and mean and ruined the night for us. Again if you don't want family's with small children in your establishment you should say it at the door, not after we paid for your overpriced mediocre BBQ. read more

Nice place, looks like they are trying to upgrade as they go along which is great. A little quiet on a Thursday night in the town of Brillion as we were the only ones dining in but it was pretty cold outside. There were a few take out orders while we were there. My husband had the 3 meat sampler and I had the burnt ends meal. My husband said the portions were a little small on the sampler plate, he said everything was ok but he did miss a little more of the smoke taste that he had hoped for on the 3 meats. My burnt ends were also ok but swimming in a juice that made them taste more like pot roast than a smoky partially crispy burnt end (don't get me wrong I like pot roast). Suggestion is to let people know you put them in a sauce so they can make the choice to have them naked. Great corn bread and beans, mac n cheese was a little separated and not creamy like some of the other reports said or the pictures that are shown online but was not bad. My husband and I are major foodies and have had BBQ all over the country, this was just ok for us. read more
