    Veggie omelet

In downtown Ludington. Building is wierd it's pretty big but they use a lot of it for storage. Food was good. I'd go again. I had the veggie omelette, was good but had way too much veggies in it compared to egg veggie ratio. Service was ok she was a busy little bee lol.

Cleared our plates and the waiter exclaimed, "Wow, we won't be needing any boxes today." I felt very accomplished.

Wow. Just wow. I have being going to Old Hamlin for many years now and the service never disappoints. All of the waiters hustle to bring out the food and treated us with the kindest spirit. The ambience is very old and musty but I love it. Plus the food was amazing, My family and I will definitely be back in the future.

How rude the old Hamlin is to people My mom left a $5 tip for five people because that is all she had left.

The Old Hamlin is not a great place to eat the people are very rude there and if you don't leave a big enough tip they will yell at you My mom only had $5 left to her name and she left it as a tip she left crying this is how they treat people Yes I did take a personal phone call but it was very quick My son only asked me one question it did not make anybody uncomfortable and the lady came out screaming at me I would not recommend eating here The food is not great The spaghetti has no taste The meatballs are not fresh and the service is crap!!!!!!!!! They like to make kind of ladies cry!!!!!!

Old Hamlin hit our radar the weekend we were in town and will be our go to when we visit Ludington. Service was fantastic! Food fantastic! And you will not find a water spot on any of the silverware. When a restaurant pays attention to details like that you found the place. The salad bar was super fresh and we ate there four times, tried various dishes and were not disappointed. Laid back atmosphere. Prices were very reasonable for what we had.

    So good coconut cream pie

Absolutely loved this restaurant. The pictures on the walls are a wonderful tribute to Ludington history. The food was AMAZING!!!!!! A must try is the homemade bread! We got the turkey sandwich' could have shared it because it was a very generous portion. Our waitress was very friendly & helpful. She made sure we didn't want for anything. And don't forget the pie!!!!! OMG!!!!! Seriously sooooo good!!!

The best chicken soup that you've ever eaten from a restaurant if you like homemade bread, they make homemade bread every day for toast

Then, you pick up your bag of food at a little window outside, and then find a place to eat outside or take it home or to your hotel or wherever. If you're dining during decent weather, you can take your food to one of the tables located in the plaza. So, now you know how Keeper's Fish Shack works. Hopefully, I've saved you from sounding like a bozo like me, when I said, "This is a to-go order" when you order. Because duh. All of the orders are to-go orders. I ordered the blackened North Pacific Cod Tackle Box. Tackle Boxes come with fries, hush puppies, coleslaw and sauce. The fish was very tender and flaky, and the spices they used were just spicy enough to give it oomph. The hush puppies are a definite must-order, and I say this as a person who has neutral feelings about hush puppies. My husband got the Fried Shrimp Tackle Box, and he said that the shrimp were perfectly fried: not too much batter. They have a kids menu here: your choice of fried cod bites or chicken tenders. We got one of each, and my kids really liked them, especially the cod bites with a little tartar sauce. The kids meals come with apple sauce and fries, but no drink. When you go into the shack to order, look to your right and you'll see refrigerators with lots of different beverages, including local Michigan beer in cans. It was nice to drink a local beer while enjoying our fish meals outside in the plaza. When we visited, the farmers market was happening in that same plaza and there was live music, too. That's the best way to experience fish at the beach, if you ask me.

The food was served quickly and piping hot. I got the fried perch tackle box. I really wanted to add a piece of another fish like blackened mahi mahi, but they declined. With my tackle box and my husband's, the total was upwards of $50. The portions were small, especially the fries for that price. With it being a walk up restaurant, you aren't paying for service. While the food was good, I probably won't make a second trip.
