Wanted a basic diner breakfast and got it. Eggs came over medium as ordered; hash browns looked a little suspect at first--large potato chunks rather than threads, and a bit mushy in appearance. They weren't actually that mushy and the crispy bits had a nice crunch. Link sausage was dry, without much flavor--bacon would probably be a better choice. Coffee was decent, though server went MIA as I was waiting for a second refill. Overall a very clean space, with tables that can accommodate large groups as well as couples or singles. Hard to say much more about my meal here than "OK," so three stars. read more

This was one of our first stops in Ludington, and it did not disappoint. To my knowledge the restaurant has recently changed hands and name. I'm unsure if the food has changed at all but our experience was GREAT. The breakfast was about the best I've ever had while eating out. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, from the biscuits and gravy to the potatoes, nothing seemed like it came from a packet or freezer. Sign advertised buffet, parking lot was packed but no wait to be seated. Two adults & grandson in our party. Adults chose the buffet and grandson ordered chicken strips & waffle. The adults had time to get their food from the buffet, eat it and go for seconds before grandsons food arrived. Grandma was not pleased and had to go up to server area to ask when it was coming and told just waiting on chicken & waffle was drying out under warmer. The food-sausage gravy on buffet was flavorful & tasted homemade, the fried potatoes were crisp, loved the French toast sticks and can't go wrong with lots of bacon. Overall not a bad meal. My friends and I noticed this place on our way to Cartier Park campground and figured it would be a good place to stop for breakfast on our way out of town after a weekend of camping. We arrived around 10 am with a group of five people and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The place is pretty spacious but they aren't set up to have many large parties. Our server Jessica was great but they were just slammed so our food took forever to come out. If you're in a hurry I'd recommend going for the breakfast buffet for $11. It actually looked pretty good and everything on it seemed hot and fresh. I ordered a sausage, eggs, and cheese breakfast melt (sandwich). It comes on Texas toast with home fries and it was delicious! The bread was perfectly toasted and buttery, the eggs weren't over cooked and there was a good amount of sausage and melted cheese. The potatoes were very buttery. Waiting for a table and waiting to pay the bill was a bit of a hectic mess as there were tons of people crowding inside in both lines. There's not much of a waiting area and they were super busy. I think they were understaffed but everyone working there was very pleasant. I liked this greasy spoon diner but was a little bummed at how long the whole process took especially since we were all looking forward to hitting the road and getting home. read more

Hello everyone I have a sad and bad experience at this restaurant my son and daughter in-law are new to the area. They had just moved to Michigan from Indiana. I referred them to eat at this restaurant and they were treated very bad never attended them never asked what they would like to order, nothing at all. They waited for half an hour or more till my son decided to leave. The waitress when out side to see if they were leaving and said nothing then she went back in. Buffets gone bad. Your welcome to the food network for a new show idea. This place is built in location first, price second, and those who don't care much for quality. We entered with expectations low and hoping to be surprised and that didn't happen. We ordered off the menu, the server was shocked and I think we confused the kitchen. So those of you that have read my prior reviews at other establishments know that my reviews although critical, are also very candid, and honest. We visited this establishment while on a short Excursion to the area; it is quite a gem! As I've mentioned in previous reviews, rarely do you get good service and good food-- it's usually either bad food and good service or good service and bad food. This place breaks the mold; the service was absolutely outstanding first class, number one, top notch! Our server, Jessica, was probably the best server that I've had and 35 + years! The down-home style breakfast food was outstanding! If I could give six stars I would! If you're in the area and looking for a good breakfast, this is the place just make sure you get there early enough because when Prime breakfast hours start, it's packed! Old fashioned grandma's diner type atmosphere. Food was good and served quickly. Staff were friendly and efficient. Enjoyed watching the manager train the teenager on how to do her side work, watch for fingerprints on the glass front door and clean thoroughly. We've eaten here every year when we're in Ludington for our annual siblings reunion. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. During the night of Covid last Summer they followed the safety guidelines. I would highly recommend this restaurant for an inexpensive yet delicious meal. read more

Stopped by for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The pancakes were huge and much tastier than IHOP's pancakes, the eggs and potatoes were perfectly cooked, and the bacon was nice and crispy. This is has been around Ludington for a very long time. It's pretty predictable for a diner. Is the food healthy? No. However, it's consistent. The service is very good. There is plenty of parking. We stopped here for our first time while on vacation in Ludington. We noticed that the parking lot was constantly full so it must be worth checking out. This place has the classic look of a plain old 80's diner. We entered and found outdated decor but I have to say, we were very impressed! The restaurant was squeaky clean and larger than it appears from the outside. Mostly booths with a few tables. The food was plentiful and delicious. I had the western breakfast(steak n eggs) which was cooked perfectly. My wife got the western omelet which was equally delicious. There's also a breakfast buffet with all of the typical breakfast meals. Staff was super friendly and attentive but not hovering. Prices were just a touch on the high side but the cleanliness and quality definitely justified the cost! For our two breakfasts and two coffees we paid $28.94 (not including tip). I have only been to the Kuntry Kubbard for breakfast.. but I'll tell you what, a all you can eat style breakfast buffet is amazing! Fresh Bacon, pancakes, French-toast and little crunchy potatoes... The service is on par very quick on refills and quite friendly to be honest. I have went about 4 times to their dinner buffet and that's not bad either. Second time visiting this restaurant and it has not disappointed! We ordered the fresh fruit plate with cottage cheese - WOW! What a big, beautiful plate of fresh fruit: pineapple, orange slices, grape bunch, blueberries, strawberries, watermelon, canteloup and bowl of wonderful cottage cheese. Our waitress, Arielle, was so sweet and attentive! We saw a cheeseburger platter with fries go to another patron, the burger was huge, the fries were plentiful and both looked amazingly delicious! Stopped for a quick lunch on our way north. Everything was very good. The only issue we had was the Salad Bar is $7.99 and Soup was an extra $2.99. $11.00 seemed a little high, but the salad bar was very good with a lot of different items. read more

They are now closed until spring. Tried to go there yesterday and it said "closed for winter see you next spring.

The perch and salad bar were outstanding. Everything was home cooked. Great restaurant.

Oh my god!!! Okay firstly the service was fantastic in every way!!! But... This place is slammed with locals who leave happy and full. For the life of me I cannot explain this in any other way then to think that Ludington really doesn't and probably never had any decent cuisine anywhere - see me comments on Sportsmans Club. The food... It was not bland but bad. I ordered pasta and chicken and my chicken was not cooked and the sauce on the pasta was just about the worst I've ever tasted in my life. My wife got the fried chicken and clearly it was cooked the day before and pulled from the fridge and microwaved. My cousin (he's a chef) and his wife went for the buffet. According to them everything they tried had a bad flavor and strange texture. My cousin even went as far as saying that the buffet trays looked dirty and that he would never eat there again. Frankly I was shocked I didn't come down with campylobacter during the next few days from my meal. I'm thinking if I opened a real place to eat up here I would be richer than ****! I just noticed that the local McDonals and Taco Bell have some of the highest ratings in town - if that does not say it all I'm not sure what else could. read more

I expected a little more "homey" food I guess from this place. The waiter I had was very nice and the lady who was seating everyone was very perky but in the best way. The people working here are the only reason I put any stars at all. My mother got the ultimate oatmeal and you could tell that if was made from a bag and the microwave. I got 2 blueberry pancakes and I found 4 separate Pieces of egg shell, the blueberries were frozen and you could tell because they were crunchy, the pancakes were also not fully cooked. I also can't go without mentioning this poor family. This family had a baby and needed to change It's diaper, the parents went into both restrooms and there was no changing table or anywhere to change a baby. We stayed at the campground across the street and needed a good breakfast before we headed out on our trip back home to Florida. Since this restaurant was right across the street we decided to try the breakfast buffet. What a mistake. The food tasted like it every bit of it came out of boxes or out of the freezer, nothing tasted homemade, it tasted terrible. The scrambled eggs were rubbery, the little potatoes were very obviously from a frozen food bag. It cost $20 for the two of us and we figured it would've been better to just take a $20 bill, set it on fire and throw it to the wind. We would've had a better breakfast for less money if we had just gone to McDonald's across the street. We do not recommend this restaurant at all, stay away. On the flip side, the servers and the personnel who worked there were extremely friendly, happy and smiling.... In fact, almost syrupy-sweet.... probably because they know the food is not good and they are trying to make up for it. Plus I'm sure they know that they're not going to get tipped because the food is GOOD, the only way they're going to make tips is by being extra sweet. Great home cooking food. Fresh and hot. Waitstaff is friendly and attentive. It's real down home food. If your looking for fancy, pass it by. But if your looking for something you would get at granny's house, you came to the right place. Came in at 3:30 on a Saturday and everything was fresh and hot and ready to eat, on the buffet. That never happens with most buffets. Usually it half full and has been sitting there since the lunch time rush. Or it's only half a buffet ,because new stuff won't be added til dinner starts. That there waitress told us that the buffet was mighty tasty so we mosied on up there and filled our plates with biscuits and gravy, hotcakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, and hash browns.
