I visited mid-day in a crush of about 30 bike riders, and the barristas handled it like absolute pros. The drinks kept coming out and the line kept moving. They also sold baked goods (absolutely giant croissants and huge slabs of rotating banana/zucchini bread). I ordered the Brown Sugar Banana latte, hold the whipp, iced. It was a really nicely balanced drink. The banana flavor wasn't fake and it wasn't too sweet. The decor inside is music-themed, with plenty of seats inside and an outdoor seating area. I had a great experience at this minority -owned local roastery and coffee shop! 4 stars but I would definitely visit again.

We were in the area after picking up donuts from the Thirsty Whale and were in need of coffee. This place has throwback vibes with coasters that look like CD's and some merch that looks like stereos. Quite place to work which we did see a few people doing. Staff was friendly and service was fairly quick - there was 2 people working the register and making drinks in tandem. We tried the banana cream latte and the sweet potato latte. The sweet potato latte was good but there was just a hint of the sweet potato. The banana cream tasted like a regular latte with whipped cream and some Nilla wafers on top. The wafers were a downfall in my opinion because the pieces that were crumbled ended up getting soggy and it was a very off putting texture. I ended up throwing away about half the drink because of it.

Great coffee in a nice neighborhood! The banana bread latte was perfect. Lots of great other options and fun add ons to your drinks. You can enjoy your drinks inside or outside with their patio seating. Service was good, definitely going back!

I loved this whole space. They have plenty of coffee options but unfortunately not so much for food. Inside passed the vibe check. There's outdoor seating with shade and street parking. They play good music that even plays outside. Friendly service and would recommend!

Good coffee and nice ambiance, a solid coffee shop in North Minneapolis. Has a nice small patio and indoor seating, and the decorations are great inside. Good coffee, I got a latte and it was very refreshing but ultimately didn't blow me away. Would go back and definitely enjoyed myself there.

An awesome spot to grab a coffee, meet a friend, or get some work done! A decent amount of street parking available directly adjacent to the coffeeshop. The shop itself is very lively, colorful, and well-decorated in records and other music themed goodies! Service is always friendly and quick! I went ahead and had the Banana Creme Latte which was DELISH!! Something eclectic and well-done, just like this cafe!! I'll absolutely be back for more WFH days!

This black owned business in the heart of North Minneapolis was a whole vibe from décor, to service, and menu selections. They sell coffee by the bag, wholesale, gift sets, and apparel. I appreciate their Urban Academy which trains under represented people get coffee jobs. Ambiance 4/5 As a 90's babe, this place was so nostalgic from the NAS homage to the vinyl's and music! The only drawback was it was bit smaller for our large group however a couple was leaving so we made due. Music was everything from Neo Soul to R&B! The patio was closed however would be nice in the Summer! Service 4/5 it was a bit confusing on where to locate the sugar and condiments, it was in the cut however we figured it out. For a small coffee shop, they had two servers, which makes sense. Friendly and helpful. Food/ Drinks/ Prices 4/5 Kenya Kainamui Medium Roast Coffee $24 | Pastry (can't recall) Overall: 10/10 Would recommend! Can't stop in for coffee, you can grab a bad from the website or Target!

I placed an order online and picked it up on the way. I was in a rush so I wanted to be able to grab and go. Honestly I wish I had time to sit and hang out at this place. The interior is so cool and the building is super interesting. The employee who grabbed my order was just the nicest guy. They were sold out of stickers and he was so apologetic about it! Highly recommend swinging by here, super cool location and the iced latte was ONE of the best I've had!

On a quest to try new coffee spots we ventured to The Get Down on a recent Saturday morning. We arrived around 11 and parked across the street in the grocer lot. Note that the coffee shop doesn't have any designated parking but street parking or grabbing a spot across the street in the lot seem to be pretty easy. Upon entering, we were somewhat surprised at how small the space was. There was one small seating area for two, a communal couch area and a communal table area, as well as three seats at the coffee bar. With only seven or eight people in there all of the seating spots seemed full and our group of three quickly determined we had to get our drinks to go. As we were waiting another four or five groups of singles or couples, came in to get coffee as well so it can get busy. Our coffee was served fairly quickly. The only downside was that they ran out of whip cream for one of our drinks. We got their specialty drinks. The sweet potato drink was tasty (4/5) the banana drink lacked strong banana flavor (3/5) and the strawberry drink was a favorite for my daughter (5/5). Customer service was good and patient as we made our decisions. They also explained the different pastries, which were all huge and look delicious, but we opted to not pick up any this trip. We grabbed a coffee and headed out and then we're happy to see you. There were a few tables outside. Even though we're fully in Fall, the sun was out and so we were able to grab a spot and sit for a few minutes while we enjoyed our drinks before venturing on. Overall, I liked the concept and liked the space, just wish it was larger. The drinks were good, although seem to be a slightly higher price point than other comparable, coffee shops. If you're in the area it's worth checking out.

Super cute place! I got the scone which was great and the For the Love of You Latte with oat milk and maple syrup flavoring. It was very pretty on top and delicious. There was only one person working behind the counter but honestly she was fairly fast considering how busy it was. The music and vibe were super chill. I would definitely come here again!

Real lovely experience. Good variety of coffee, tea, and even some items in cooler (kambucha, water, juice). I got a coffee with vanilla, and my boyfriend... one with caramel. Neither flavor was strong in our drinks but they were still good. We got monkey bread with caramel and pecans....it was huge and I think worth the price. However I do wish they had smaller sizes. A variety of seating, but dont be surprised if you're situated close to strangers (ie at communal table). Know that its a cashless business, and finding parking is pretty easy. Anyway, a real nice place, with nice staff that I was happy to finally try.

We love to see a new black owned and operated business pop up! This is exactly what North Minneapolis needs! I've been tracking this coffee shop since last summer and I'm very excited they opened a store front! The coffee was delicious, the staff was friendly and welcoming, AND they even gave me a doggy treat for my pup in the car. I also really liked the atmosphere of the store. Plenty of room to sit and read or work and the art/ambiance is pleasant. There's also an "incest in our future" spotlight! You can directly donate to young African American scholars to invest in their future. HOW DOPE! I love this place!

Note: this is inside Wicked Wort brewery now! It's a HUGE space, which is honestly nice because there's always seating available. Great use of shared space. Has an industrial feel to it with the exposed ceiling and dark wood elements. Service was great and helpful! Very friendly, neighborhood vibes. The barista knew most of the people ordering after us by name AND order - you can tell a lot of people come here often. Quite a large retired and elderly population came here for breakfast on the day we visited. Prices are very affordable for breakfast! We got a burrito and burrito bowl for $8-9 each. You can't get hardly anything for under $10 these days! Latte prices were more standard, but we got specialty items. These weren't our faves: the vanilla bean latte was quite sweet, and my peppermint matcha didn't taste much of peppermint (and I'm not sure they're using very good quality matcha). But our breakfast more than made up for it! Food was out quickly, and the rest of their lunch menu (and ice cream) looked great too.

On the way out, I wanted to get dessert and got the cookies for 2 for $1 and a black drip coffee to go! Yummy! I LOVE this place!

There is a small parking lot on the side of the building and they had a cute sign out front. They are located on a somewhat busy street, so this could make or break some of their business. Ambiance: Inside was huge! This would be a great place to meet with a small group as they have different areas inside to sit and converse. It wasn't very busy when we were there but it was around 1 on a Tuesday. They have a bakery, ice cream counter and boba. They had a bakery case that looked really tasty, so we decided to get 3 items to share. - Lemon macaron - perfection and had a gooey chewiness. We could eat a ton of these. - Eclair - I don't think I've ever had an eclair and now I am questioning why! It was chilled and the perfect amount of filling to outside pastry. The chocolate falls off when you bite it, so eat over a napkin to not lose any pieces. - Chocolate croissant or pastry. I think it was Nutella and it was incredible! Flakey, gooey and everything you'd want it to be. I'm sure you could warm it up and it would elevate it further. Yum! We both got a fruit tea and it was a lot. Sadly, I wouldn't get again as it was too sweet and my boba tasted like ramen noodles. (It actually made me hungry for ramen). My teen got the strawberry milk tea and even said it was sickly sweet and she needed the ice to sit. Overall, I didn't love the boba... but I would recommend the pastry! They also had some decadent looking muffins and cake slices. If in the neighborhood, stop in! I think they should make a Macaron ice cream sandwich! I was a bit shocked that they had to put signs on some of the lower tables for people to not put their feet on them. In a cafe/food establishment that should be common sense but I definitely get it.
