Nice indoor space, love all the plants in the window. I was debating between the Nordic Latte and the Maple Bourbon Caramel Latte. The barista suggested if I was getting iced to go with the maple bourbon and if I was going for a hot drink to go with the Nordic latte. So I went with the iced Maple Bourbon Caramel Latte-- loved it and recommend! The wait time was a little long, but nothing too crazy.

I know Corner coffee has a few locations around the Twin Cities. I've been to one other location in uptown. They all kind of have the same vibe. Very chill and quiet. I got an iced sweet potato latte, my mom got the spiced orange matcha and my little cousin got a hot chocolate. The drinks were overall really good. I really like the matcha. I will have to come back and the sweet potato latte warm next time. This location is nested in neighborhood in north mpls. Not hard to find at all. They have a ton of seating inside, which is nice. The staff were nice. When we were leaving, looked like they were starting to get a bit busier.

Although I loved the coffee and the treats, seems the waitress seemed a little cold and rude. The place seems nice and cozy.

Cute spot with lots of tables. Great place to stop while walking in this area and could be a good place to work from since it is pretty quiet. The matcha latte was a little watery but affordable. Ice latte was better. Staff was definitely not happy we came in 15 min before closing, so we left quickly after getting our drinks.

If you like a savory nutty beverage like me, this is your place. Excited to find such a cute spot in my new neighborhood! They have a generous rewards program as well! Very easy online ordering through their website. If you choose pickup there are two options, curbside or regular. If you choose regular, there is a table right inside the front door they will place your drinks on. Just grab and run! There is a large outdoor bench area if you'd prefer to stick around outside, and the lake just down the road! I ordered the Bourbon Caramel Latte with almond milk. Very impressed by the flavors! Super well balanced and not super sweet. The Nordic Latte was spiced as you would expect, but not as impressive as the bourbon. Both were delicious and went down quickly. I will certainly be back as this is the closest coffee shop to my home! The only thing I will say is that the pricing is a little steep for the area, but if you get into their rewards I feel it will be more affordable. Street parking.

I love this coffee shop. I usually try whatever is on their specialty menu and today was the bourbon caramel latte and let me tell you!!! The 12 oz was perfect. It was sweet, I could still taste coffee which I love, and I appreciate coffee shops that serve their coffee in actual mugs when you drink them there. I've had their drip, afogato (they also sell ice cream) and their bakery items. I recommend the savory scone. This is a good place to get some work done - outlets are aplenty if you sit by the wall. They showcase new art every month it seems and usually have fresh flowers or live plants on their tables. Parking is on the street and fairly easy to find. I'm a fan.

An excellent bacon, egg and cheese, breakfast croissant and americano. The vibes were good to sit and chat with friends & there was more seating towards the back

The perfect Saturday spot! We were in the area picking up Thirsty Whale doighnutd, and knew we needed the perfect cup of coffee to go with them. Corner Coffee's website made ordering online a breeze. Their menu is interactive and easily customizable. You also get an email & text confirming your order was received and when it's ready. Their level of communication is great! I got the Nordic Latte - which is their vanilla flavored latte with a little bit of cinnamon and cardamon to add the perfect nuttiness. The only tinge of sadness was how small it was...it was gone TOO soon!

I ordered a egg and cheese croissant and a iced Nordic latte with oat milk.

It's a perfect setting to complete your homework, very calm, positive energy, and not to mention the staff are amazing. I didn't realize they were 10 minutes away from me so now I have a reason to finish my homework lol

This is hands down one of my favorite coffee shops. I wasn't sure what to get and the barista asked me questions and recommended a DELICIOUS beverage for me. The plants all look amazing and the other decor fits perfectly with the vibe of the cafe. Parking is fairly easy to find which is very helpful. There isn't a ton of space though, so planning to study or do work here doesn't seem like a viable option depending on the time of day.

How cute!! So glad to have a local coffee shop that has plenty of seating and later hours! Delicious seasonal latte for me today, maple and clove. Small selection of pastry-today was blueberry muffins (huge!) and cheese bagels. Mom and hubby got a honey and vanilla cappuccino and a chai float! All got a five star review!! Go support your local barista in the Northside!!

I stop into this place most weeks during my son's therapy appointments next door. The atmosphere is relaxed. The music is nice. The coffee is a little more pricey than some other cafes, but it's worth it for some of their signature drinks. I especially recommend the Nordic Latte and the Blue Mocha. Definitely check it out if you're in the neighborhood.

Chai is made in-house and is always fresh.

Especially since the cafe is music themed with cute coasters inspired by vinyls and the cafe itself is the ambiance of an old school studio. My Brown Sugar Banana Latte which I got cold tasted very faintly of banana and more of brown sugar which was a little disappointing, but my partner's sweet potato latte was very enjoyable served hot. Both drinks were on the sweeter side which is fine but not my preference. Would I go back? Backstory may have the most beautiful coffee shop interior I've ever been in…read more The second I walked in, I actually laughed because it felt way too gorgeous to be "just" a coffee shop. The soaring industrial ceilings, massive windows pouring in natural light, dark wood shelving, plants everywhere, books, artwork, vintage decor, and incredible lighting somehow make the whole place feel both grand and peaceful. It's the kind of space where you immediately want to cancel your plans and spend the entire afternoon reading, working, or simply existing. Every direction you look feels thoughtfully designed. One thing I couldn't find online beforehand was whether there would be places to plug in my laptop. Thankfully, there are plenty of outlets, making it a fantastic place to work. Even better, despite its size, the atmosphere stays calm and quiet. It never felt loud or chaotic. The drinks were excellent. I tried the Lime Creamsicle Iced Matcha and later ordered a hot matcha, complete with a beautiful heart poured into the milk. I especially appreciated that they use what tasted like genuine, high-quality matcha rather than the overly sweet, filler-heavy mixes that so many coffee shops rely on. You can absolutely taste the difference. I also picked up two pastries: an artichoke and cheese croissant (I think it was Gouda?) and the coffee cake. Both were delicious, but that coffee cake deserves its own paragraph. It was huge, incredibly moist and rich, and served in a large paper liner almost like an oversized cupcake. I'd happily go back just for that. If I had one wish, it would simply be for the menu to match the creativity of the space. The coffee, tea, and espresso selections felt a bit limited considering how unique everything else is. This seems like the perfect place to experiment with fun specialty drinks and elevated touches. Imagine pink peppercorn on a cortado, mint dust on a cappuccino, unique flavored cold foams, rotating seasonal teas, or other creative finishes. The environment practically begs for a menu that's just as imaginative. The staff interaction was fine but didn't really stand out. When I asked whether they recommended the Lime Creamsicle Matcha, the response was basically, "I mean... it tastes like a lime creamsicle." It wasn't unfriendly, just not especially engaging. The prices are definitely on the higher end, but between the stunning atmosphere, quality ingredients, and excellent pastries, I'd happily return. Backstory isn't just somewhere to grab coffee. It's somewhere you want to linger. If you're looking for one of the most beautiful, calming coffee shops in Minneapolis, this belongs at the top of your list.

We rolled in a little before 1:00 PM and had no trouble finding easy street parking (huge win!). The vibe inside? Mixed. Definitely not the warm welcome we hoped for and very unfortunate. BUT--shoutout to my bestie for treating us to a coffee date, because the drinks were solid. I had the piña colada cold brew, which was super sweet at first, but after a quick stir, it hit just right. My bestie went with the strawberries & cream cold brew and a matcha lemonade. Both were surprisingly good, but the matcha lemonade really stood out to me; so refreshing and unique. All in all, Backstory was a convenient and tasty pre-concert stop.
