When I pointed this out, she casually said it would "look like the pictures in 8 weeks." I was shocked and humiliated. During the haircut, she even told me twice not to cross my legs--something I've never experienced at any salon. I asked to switch stylists, and was told I'd have to pay extra, even though the issue was not my fault. Ruby then claimed that because I agreed to a graduation in the back--which she suggested--she had to ignore my other requests. I cried in my car on the way home, devastated. $160+tax for a ruined haircut and a traumatizing experience. I can only hope no one else has to go through this. Without exaggeration, this was the worst salon experience of my life.

Camille was recommended to me by my most trusted friend as a person who is amazing at cutting curly hair. While I have very straight hair normally, I was new to town and made an appt with Camille. That was three years ago and I am completely loyal to Camille for haircuts. She is A-Maz-Ing with cute short cuts/bobs and mid-length cuts....these have been the range of hair cuts I have had with Camille. Everytime I leave my haircut with Camille, people are complementing me like crazy. My favorite thing about my haircuts from Camille, is how awesome my hair looks as it grows out. Someone once told me that is the sign of a really good cut and now I get it! Camille is a great person with probably awesome Karma because she is just of those people that cares about people and acts accordingly. And she is a dog lover, so I enjoy chatting about dogs with her. Hmmm, I think that's it. I was just overdue to gush about my new haircut and the artist that made it happen. I mean, just chaos all over. So now that I'm vaxxed and about to take a trip back east to visit family I haven't seen in what feels like eons, I knew I needed professional help. And since I'm relatively new to Austin, I turned to Yelp for help in choosing that professional help :-) I absolutely love the cut and style Lynnie gave me, and, as I said, I felt like her task was extra challenging because of all the chaos I wreaked on my own quarantined head, ha. So I'm extra impressed with the end product! This cut is super cute and stylish and attractive and it feels very "me." I love it! Also, I love that Lynnie asked about how I style my hair at home, and maybe bc I'm lazy or maybe I'm impatient, I usually just let it air dry. So she gave me tips for styling it that way and then put me under the dome dryer to mimic the air dry so we could see how it looked after. I really appreciated that extra touch too-- it was so helpful to me since I feel like I learned some new tricks that I will actually carry out bc they're easy and don't require me to do anything time-consuming. Also, I felt very comfortable with Lynnie. In addition to clearly being so talented at her craft, she's a warm, friendly, all-around nice person who I enjoyed chatting with while she was making over my head :-). I was so looking forward to my first professional self-care experience post-vaccine (my husband is in a vulnerable group so I've been psychotically cautious for the last year so I wouldn't unknowingly give the virus to him). I was so looking forward to it that I could barley sleep last night! But at the same time I was nervous bc I am so easily embarrassed (I'm working on that), and I really was embarrassed about my hair. Lynnie put me at ease immediately, and her kindness and patience and warmth made the whole experience fabulous for me, so it was good for my outsides and my insides. I feel so good with this new haircut (I feel 10 years younger, maybe even 20!), and I feel so grateful for finding out about Lynnie. In case it's not already obvious, I will be returning again and again to be the lucky recipient of her talent, and in case it's not obvious, I highly recommend her as well... the highest recommendation I can give!
