I went a few times recently on Sundays. I went for brunch and ended up not ordering brunch because I saw they had a buffalo chicken wrap on the menu and I needed it! I got a tequila sunrise to go with it!! Then I went with some friends and I got the espresso martini and it was really good!! The staff was super nice both times I was there. It wasn't super busy so I was able to sit right down both times.

Have a holiday party for a professional association here. Had the old fashioned and the first one was so good I had a second. The apps we ordered were good. We got the popcorn, the charcuterie board, the Brussel sprouts and the artichoke dip. All were good.

    Cheers!

This is a good (if loud) place to bring a group, because they have lots of larger tables. On the weekends they offer brunch in addition to lunch. Once we tracked down our waitress, our table mostly opted for brunch--3 eggs Benedict, the cheesiest cheese omelet any of us had ever seen, and the pulled pork. The kitchen was relatively timely, and the food was fine. I got the lemon dessert bar to go which was one of the better parts of the meal.

Wonderful dinner experience. Wide open and spacious setting with various tables and bar seating. Very friendly and attentive service. Great cocktails and draft line. Spinach artichoke dip was very good. Fresh with toasted bread and pita chips. Tasted good. The salmon was very good. Cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The mushroom risotto was a little firm but good flavor. Definitely recommend a visit here.

The Foundry is a great place for drinks & bar food. Upon entering, you are greeted with a bar. It looks empty when you enter, but there's lots of rooms and the main bar is in the back! It was relatively packed when we arrived on a Friday night. The service was impeccable, and our waitress was very attentive. We were a part of a 10 party group, and everything went smoothly! My husband had the crab cake sandwich & Caesar salad. I had the chicken Caesar salad wrap with fries. Everything was super tasty and flavorful! My wrap had a lot of different flavors and was pretty complex for bar food. My fries were tasty and seasoned, and I loved the small shape! Overall, The Foundry is perfect for elevated bar food and drinks! Its menu is diverse yet simple and perfect for a night out in the North Shore!

OMG. So Pittsburgh is a massively underrated foodie town. I found this out the easy way! I stayed on the north shore, and there were sooo many places within walking distance to our hotel. The Foundry was the "least busy," but it's all relative. (Every place was busy). This was unique, local flair with some farm to table specialties (their salad was seriously one of the best and freshest I've ever had, no lie). My husband got the sausage and pepper cavatappi. I got some fresh pierogi with kielbasa...I'm not even a kielbasa fan, but it was delicious. Okay, so when in Pittsburgh, you get pierogi. And my spring salad!! I dream of it. A few of my friends ate at different establishments, but this was soo good...I don't know if I can pass it up again,

My daughter and I had dinner at the Foundry before the Taylor Swift concert. We KNEW every place in North Shore was going to be slammed and prepared ourselves for long waits and less than stellar service. We were shocked when this wasn't the case. While we did wait in a long queue for a table, once we were seated, the waitress was fast on her feet. The food was served quickly. Everything tasted great. I had the pierogies and my daughter had the grilled cheese. Both were delicious. I also appreciated that they had a couple of Taylor Swift themed drinks. The "Champagne Problems" was yummy. We were seated in the front section which is a bar area with high top tables. I didn't get a chance to look at the back.

We had a great time at The Foundry on a Friday night. We went around 5:30pm and were seated immediately. I ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer and the crispy chicken sandwich as my entree. OMG it was so good. Literally cannot stop telling people about this chicken sandwich. The staff were so friendly and quick. I felt that the menu was reasonably priced. I will definitely return here for another meal!

I see no reason to give this place any less than 5 stars. We came here on a Saturday evening at 7pm. Six of us sat at the back bar until our table was ready which didn't take long at all. I ordered some kind of Winter Old Fashion and it was phenomenal (pictured). Service was quick and pleasant. Once seated , we all ordered the following : appetizers - crab dip ( the purée dip wasnt great and didn't have a ton of taste), meat and cheese ( simple, a bit underwhelming), and the Brussels sprouts ( DELICIOUS). Entrees included: short ribs, salmon, vegetable haluski, and chicken pot pie. Pictures are included for almost all of the food items. The entrees were absolutely wonderful except for the short ribs . The meat was what seemed fatty and tough. The dish was super small for being over $30 but should it have been delicious then the cost wouldn't matter. We did mention it to the server and she was wonderful about it. Sometimes dishes arnt perfect , but this did not take away from the great experience and other enjoyable foot items. Overall - I am excited to go back and dine again.

I made reservations in advance since we had a show at Stage AE. For those instances, it's the perfect spot! It's right across the street and there is a large parking lot behind Tequila Cowboy (also right across the street) so parking is very accessible for both dinner and a show. Service was very good, she was attentive and I have zero complaints there. We weren't drinking so I have no comment on drinks. Food...we ordered the chicken pot pie and the kielbasa sandwich to split. The chicken pot pie was VERY rosemary-forward. There was lots of the sauce but not much in the dish! It seemed empty...The puff pastry was nice and there were chunks of chicken, instead of the normal shredded you get in a pot pie, but it was not seasoned at all. This dish needed so many more elements to make it good enough to order again. More vegetables and chicken that was seasoned itself would have gone a long way. It was fine enough to eat but not $23 worthy in my opinion and I wouldn't tell anyone to order it quite frankly. The kielbasa sandwich was very mediocre. Anyone could have made this at home and it was nothing special AT ALL. Basic and boring, but my dad would have enjoyed it since he is the pickiest person at any restautant HAHA

    Steak YINZER SALAD (AGF/AV)

Stopped in after visiting a museum nearby. My kids got burgers off the kids menu and my husband got the classic burger. Those were "ok" according to them. I got the steak salad which was 20.00. The steak was steak-um and I had to search through all the spring mix to find roughly 2oz at the bottom of the plate. I would not have ordered it if I knew. The service was good and the environment is clean and seems like it could be fun. I did not get a cocktail but they have a decent drink menu.

We had a reservation at 5, but it wasn't needed for our particular night. The location is very convenient to Stage AE and the stadiums. The modern industrialist feel was really nice, and the touches of Pittsburgh decor was a fun touch! We got the Salmon BLT and the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. The food was good, but each item had its issues. The piece of salmon was small considering it was called a Salmon BLT, and the chicken sandwich was a bit over done as I felt it was dry. The flavors of both were really delicious, though. Our server was very attentive and very sweet, and checked on us many times while we were there. She also didn't push us out after we finished our meal. She even refilled our drinks after our bill had long been settled. We would like to come back over the summer and enjoy the outdoor seating area!

One of the better options on the North Side for brunch in my opinion. Also one of the few places that takes reservations which is nice. The chicken and grits meal was incredible. I wish the menu was a little more expansive for brunch but usually can find an option for everyone, and they have rotating specials. The back patio in the summer is also a plus!

    Is this place dog friendly?

I can confirm that having a dog while sitting at an outside table is allowed but I doubt it is allowed inside

    Is it Casual atmosphere?

Yes! When we were there, we saw people in T Shirts and shorts, and others in dress slacks and polos. I'd say wear whatever you want! :)

We sat outside, which was first come first serve. It took awhile for anyone to approach us but I was in the restaurant industry for some time so I surely realize it happens for many reasons ! My friend ordered two speciality drinks which we were then told they didn't have the ingredients to make those cocktails...Okay - it happens no problem . We then ordered food from the brunch menu ( also out of the first item we asked for , there are only about 6-7 items on that limited menu). We asked if the regular menu would be available that day and we were told "no not on Sunday's." We proceeded to order and consume the hot honey chicken and waffles( good but not much of a hot honey taste and be aware it's BONE IN chicken), French toast with berries ( delicious ), and the shrimp and grits (made to perfection). I ordered the Texas medicine beverage , which was exquisite! (Tequila cocktail, Pictured). We also had the Petal and Pearl , gin and procecco cocktail ,not pictured but very good as well. After we ate, we moved to the bar to grab one last beverage. Again, it took quite some time for someone to approach us, which was odd because many of the girls were making eye contact but walking by us. Finally a gentleman with curly hair came over to take our orders - thank you. We noticed people at the bar were eating wings and food that was not listed on the brunch menu. When I asked how they ordered that, they said the regular menu starts at 3 on Sundays! We were extremely disappointed our original server did not tell us this nor was enlightened that the menu was released at a later time on Sundays. Concerning. It was nice to sit on a roof top in Pittsburgh on a sunny day. They have the atmosphere done with perfection. The food seemed delectable and the beverages done with beautiful presentations. I really hope to give this place another chance and revise my review !

I've heard so many mixed things that I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed every aspect of my experience. It kind of has dive bar vibes but the food and drink options are definitely on the elevated side. They open at 4 on Sundays and I got there around 4:15. It was already pretty busy (and by the time I was leaving, every single table and bar stool were occupied). They have standard booth seats along the windows, hightop tables in the middle and bar seating along the bar that curves along the back of the restaurant. I chose to sit at the bar since I was by myself. I was promptly greeted by the bartender. They don't hand you copies of the menu, you have to scan the QR code to access. It is easy to read and follow with sections for drinks, specials (this time they were Wicked themed as a nod to the show at the Benedum) and a sushi section. I ordered the street corn dip. The chips were a bit overcooked and the dip was just OK. I thought it was pricey for what you got. The star of my meal, though, was the patty melt. It had the burger, a bacon jam, caramelized onions and was absolutely delicious! It was served with fries. I considered ordering sushi but wasn't sure what to expect. The patrons sitting on either side of my ordered rolls and they were a nice size and looked delicious, so that is something I would consider ordering in the future. It was a place I'll likely be back to because of the proximity to the theater (although their prices definitely reflect that). Just note how crowded it always is and give yourself plenty of time if you plan on heading here for dinner before the show.
