    Coffee!
    Tanim I.

This is my first time eating an (almost) traditional English breakfast. I say almost, because coffee. The rest was a BIG cheese omelette, a generous serving of chips, and peas! I wouldn't have thought peas would go so well with the chips and the omelette, but it does! The omelette was excellent, the chips were just right, and so were the peas. I was worried the coffee would be too strong without dream. Instead, it also was very good and just strong enough!

Whilst in England... having a full English breakfast is a MUST! My boyfriend and I tried two different types. My favorite parts were eating the eggs, beans, and toast all together in one bite. Super yummy! I am also a huge tomato lover, and having it fried was a nice touch. Considering I'm from Hawai'i (USA) I wasn't quite used to the taste of their sausages. Altogether, a very solid breakfast and really filling! I do wish prices weren't so steep in England :\ breakfast was equivalent to $45 USD for the two of us, not including any gratuity. Still a great little café! I would recommend.

    Full English Breakfast

Overall: Come here if you only want just black coffee or tea (don't expect cream/milk) for a quick stop. Food: English Breakfast-not entirely impressed with it. Sausage tasted like it was heated through the microwave. Eggs, bacon and hash brown were fine. Beans taste like they were re-heated out of a microwave Additional Notes: They did not have any milk or cream which was a bit of a let down considering it should be a standard for most cafés.

    Vegetarian Full English Breakfast

What a great little cafe! Super friendly service, diner atmosphere and reasonable prices! I had the vegetarian version of a full English breakfast and it was very tasty. Close to all of the airport hotels too, so a nice way to end my holiday. The menu has a lot of breakfast items as to be expected but also a selection of other things such as paninis and sandwiches. I recommend checking them out!

I have to say it was some of the best espresso and chocolate croissant I've had. Albeit a bit pricey on what you're receiving, the quality and grandiose more than makes up for it. This cafe has a limited menu featuring breakfast, pastries, coffee, and alcoholic beverages. We were there around 8am and the Louis Vuitton store adjacent to it was already open as well for folks who were in the mood to shop. The espresso was served in a beautiful glass adorned with the LV monogram symbols and the plate as well. Everything in each little detail was adorned with the monogram pattern. When I asked for sugar it was served shaped as a monogram flower. The napkin had a monogram flower and it was just so classy-ly done. What stood out to me was the croissant being brought by the chef himself and it was massive. There was powdered sugar sprinkled on top with the monogram flower shown in the sugar. The chocolate filling was made with some of the best chocolate one could have and the croissant itself was so flaky. It probably took me at least five to ten minutes to finish it because it was that big. Staff here was pretty friendly and I loved the touch of the bar decorated with three beautiful louis vuitton trunks. Take a moment to look around and appreciate the art, architecture, design, and interior decorating. It is all a blast.

We landed at Heathrow Airport during Christmas holiday while all shops were closedown, and therefore we are not sure about the situation in normal days. We ordered calamari and chicken wings for the starters, followed with the sea trout and lamb shank for the main dishes. And lamb shank was the highlight of the Christmas dinner. Hot and kicking chicken wings were also great! However, the waiting time between starters and main dish was about 40 minutes and was considered as a 'minus'.(in the end we went to the waiters and asked whether everything was alright in the kitchen...) In addition, the restaurant was next to a bar and the service was kind of separated - if you chose the seats in the restaurant, waiters would approach and take your order. If you crossed the unclear boundary then you should order directly with the bartenders. Our impression was that the waiters didn't aim to point out the difference even if we asked for a table and therefore unnecessary time was spent.

After a morning touring around London, we decided to visit St.Johns Wood where a good friend lives. We stumbled upon Fego at ~2:00pm on a Sunday and the waitress put together two tables to accommodate our 4-person family outside. Salads: my wife and I split a "Chili Chicken salad" with avocado, sweet peppers, hamoulli cheese, shaved carrots and a light dressing. The chicken was tasty with a slight kick and the cheese was rich but not overpowering. My daughter got a salmon salad with avocado that was similarly tasty and healthy. Sandwich: We got an Italian panini with prosciutto, mozzarella, lettuce, pesto, avocado on a ciabatta roll. The roll was toasted (nice) but the cheese not really melted, which would have been nicer. Still, a very tasty and healthy sandwich. Finally, our 6-year old ordered pancakes with blueberries from the kids menu and was very happy dipping into maple syrup and coloring his menu. Our family tends to make lots of special orders ("avocado on the side, dressing on the side, pesto on the side,....") as we like to share and have different tastes. Our waitress got them all correct the first time and didn't make us feel badly at all. In addition to our great food and nice service, the menu had probably 2-3 items we each wanted but didn't order so we'll definitely go back. A nice mix of breakfast foods plus salads, sandwiches, pizzas and desserts (which looked decadent). Hope others enjoy Fego as much as we did.

I have to say, the pancakes were a bit on the dry side though. Also, the eggs were sunny side up but didn't actually seem fried at all, as they were super soft without any crispiness. In addition, they didn't even add the slightest amount of seasoning on there - at least a few pepper flakes would have been nice (although there was pepper on the table, but still). The homestyle fries were well-cooked with a good crispiness though. The restaurant has a lower level with some seating as well as a larger upper level. It has a sort of old-timey kind of vibe, with wood panels along the walls and ceiling and a little performance stage in the back. It is conveniently located right next to the Canary Wharf tube station. My waitress was average friendliness and was only moderately attentive, as she never checked up on me during my meal. She also waited until I actually got my food to bring me my water. Overall, The Breakfast Club is a solid option for breakfast/brunch in Canary Wharf with pretty much any of the classics that you could want.

I just kept finding the wrong one, but TBC made it worth the wait. For those seeking "a little more conversation", stop at the bar for the friendly experience you'd expect. Today I headed upstairs to the VIP Section. Unlike my wife who never saw a pancake she wanted to go home with, I like a menu with plenty of pancake choices. And bonus points if not too many are "exotic" such as cake disguised as compote-smothered confectioners-sugar-laced trendy-named items. Just get me some sort of flapjack with or without fruit. Bonus points if you have short and tall (long?) stacks. And double-bonus if you print "flapjack" on the menu. Enough about the pancakes (my wife is saying). She doesn't even like breakfast so don't listen to her (she'd skip if I weren't always dragging her out somewhere for it). Her loss. But just one more pancake point: I got the blueberry short stack. It wasn't epic but it was a solid +6-7. That works, given my earlier frou-frou comments. I couldn't tell and maybe the maple syrup was imported from Canada (eh), but we are spoilt with our Vermont supply. So no points gained/lost there. I didn't get any baked beans (yes because this was breakfast), but my bacon was tasty as were my two Americanos (aka coffees). If I had for some reason wanted pre-noon beans...I'm sure they would have been lovely, along with all the other varied menu choices I didn't have room to sample. Service was fast and efficient, and they endured my lingering into late-morning. By the time I left it had stopped raining. Will wonders never cease.
