This was a tough review. I was really excited about eating here because of the great reviews and proximity to Heathrow Marriott. The service was ok, the host was great and explained that you order food up front after you decide from menus and drinks from the bar. It may seem awkward but is actually makes for a quick exit. The real disappointment was the food. We started with the calamari. That was pretty decent. The fry was similar to mozzarella sticks, the portions are huge so easily shareable. I ordered the 18 oz t-bone (medium rare), chips and cesar salad. Plenty of chips, they were longer hot and little soggy by the time they got out. The steak was the real disappointment. The cook was rare bordering on blue with very little seasoning. Additionally there was no sear on the steak and it was real tough. The fibers were present through the meat and it was poorly trimmed resulting in almost a fourth of it being inedible. The cesar dressing was real mayo forward. The atmosphere was great with plenty of folks and you could tell weekends are fun. This may have been an off meal but my food on this trip was not representative of the reviews. read more

The ambience, good and off course beverages were outstanding! Tried something new, the beef stew pie was actually flavorful although needed a touch of salt (like most of the British joints. Although the bar and patio are self service the food was delivered with a smile and the bouncer - although a solid brick wall of a man - made us feel invited. Once in a blue moon does 5 stars not do justice. This is actually a 6!!! The good was tasty, and perfect - and very reasonably priced. The staff went above and beyond, warm, friendly welcoming and checking to make sure that you are happy (YES!!). I got to talk with owner when I entered at 6.40pm and we chatted - what a great, caring, friendly host!!! In terms of the ambiance? Happy, bubbly and yes it could be romantic too!! If I could give this place a 6, I would. By thunder and Jesus lads, this pub is great and the staff top notch. Neither of them, however compare to the food the cook lays out for you to savor, . We ate there 2 of the 3 nights we were staying near LHR Airport and the only one we missed was on Sunday, when they are closed. (Check out the White Hart, where we walked after discovering that the Pheasant was at roost on Sundays.) They have outdoor seating, as well as indoor. You order at the indoor window from the chap who seems to be owner-in-charge, and they bring your food to you. Drinks are ordered at the bar. Check out the pics. Eat well. Cool place around the corner from our hotel. Some really great reviews so had to try it. The menu is large so grab a pint and look it over. A bonus for a pub they also have wine and cocktails! We started with some fried mushrooms. So good. Crispy and cooked perfectly. The dipping sauce was so good. Next we shared the chicken and mushroom pie. OMG this is a huge plate of food. Piping hot. I'm beginning to master the ways of "pub ordering", at least enough not to get laughed out of the establishment. I do appreciate getting the quick tutorial once they hear my foreign US accent. All was tasty here at The Pheasant, with pleasant company and nice service. Determined to inhibit those "bad cholesterols", I opted for fish, and was advised the salmon was "lovely tonight." Who could resist that? My little side table was a good spot to take in all the views, and I always enjoy the neighborhood factor when popping into one of these myriad establishments. Drinks and conversation were flowing, and you can come here 20 times before you run through the menu. I was glad to escape "Heathrow's Edge" to find something down a lane. This place has very good food! The service is a little slow but for what they lack in speed they make up for in quality. Meals come out presentable and VERY hot! We ate here on our last night in the UK. Restaurant was in a 10 min walk from the Hotels along the main road near Terminal 5 Heathrow. We loved every mouthful, it was delicious. As a Brit this is what I wanted, as I can't get this food back in the States where I live very easily. Our family was in food heaven. Accommodated me without a reservation on a Friday night. I believe the gentleman that helped me was the owner. Quite a pleasant man. Unique dining area inside the building, multi level maze! I choose the Chicken Supreme dish with ratatouille and a billon little potato slices. If you are stuck in one of the hotels on the main road by Heathrow this is a pleasant 7-8 min walk. My son and I came here on a Tuesday for lunch prior to flying back to the states. The place has a nice ambiance and feel about it and the staff were very friendly and attentive. We both ordered the chicken and mushroom pie which came with peas, fries and gravy. To my surprise this was a very large portion which filled the plate. The pie was made with nice chunks of white breast meat in a rich sauce and mushrooms encased in a puff pastry shell and it tasted delicious. I can most definitely recommend this restaurant and hopefully can go back again next time I'm in the UK. read more

We came in just before 6 on a Saturday. They asked us to hangout in the inn pub and wait until the restaurant opened at 6. Had a beer and watched great looking food go by. At six they let us know the restaurant was open. We were asked in the restaurant if we had a reservation. We did not know we needed one so we did not. They said they should be able to accommodate our party of 4. In minutes they took us to the very top of this multi level A-Frame type of building. The seating was fabulous with different size tables on different levels making it very private or family friendly. We had the sausage and mash, the Aberdeen Angus cheese and bacon burger, chicken and mushroom pie, and the Steak and Ale pie. The food was the best. The servings were enough for 2 each. We are leaving tomorrow and felt guilty about leaving so much leftover. The service was exceptional. We didn't wait for a thing. 3 different people stopped by and took care of us at different stages. Prices were very reasonable and especially when you figure the quality, taste and amount of food. This place was busy and I can see why. If you are staying anywhere near the airport this is a place you must stop by. If we are ever back in London (and we will be) we will definitely be back! Stayed overnight by Heathrow airport and luckily found this spot. Charming, local spot with a very welcoming staff. We loved our evening of Guiness pints and delicious food. Sat out on the patio as they were so busy but it was lovely and the fish & chips were top notch. Everything we ordered was so good. Then again I'd hardly call myself an expert on England, and it should be all that surprising considering how close to the airport this pub happens to be. Anyway, yeah, it's a pub, but it also happens to have accommodation attached to it, something that I haven't really seen with many of the pubs in England. Our flight was canceled at Heathrow Airport. We stayed at a hotel nearby. While there, we walked about .4 mile to the Pheasant Inn for a late lunch. My wife ordered the Gammon steak with chips (steak fries) and peas. The Gammon steak came with two large slices of fried pineapple. My wife loved the meal. I had the Baby back ribs meal with fries and coleslaw. The portion of ribs and fries was huge and I could not eat it all. The ribs were fantastic, and as good as any ribs I have eaten in USA. I also had a delicious pint of Doom Bar Amber Ale. The pub/restaurant is a large converted home in a neighborhood. The staff were very nice and attentive. The bartender gave me samples before I chose my pint of Doom Bar. I highly recommend you get a meal and a pint at the Pheasant Inn. read more

Best t~bone in the area! I been eating at this place for 20 years of my traveling for work. It is the best pub\restaurant in the LHR Bath rd area hands down. The lamb shank is money. The steak or chicken pie is fantastic. I've had their baguette sandwiches and their curry's and have never been disappointed. The beer is always cold and the staff is always bright and cheerful. My buddies say the fish and chips are great. I love their curly fries and the chicken nuggets are on point. You can't get your burger anyway other way than well done, I like mines bloody so I don't order burgers in the UK. But, maybe they changed the rule, ask.
