Nope. Don't do it. Took 2 HOURS for our food to come out. It's almost comical..,.but we are so tired. So, not so much.

Let me tell you how good the food is! This was tasteless. In all honesty, the wait staff and maître d' were friendly and helpful. I have no complaints about the people working there. The corporate architecture of these "gourmet" restaurants is frankly appalling. OK, I know that this is a Hilton hotel at Heathrow airport. I know they strive for perfection. But if one looks back at my other reviews, and bath or in London or even in some small town in the middle of nowhere, you will see that I have a taste for quality and craftsmanship when it comes to food. Of course let's not forget my reviews in New York City, Iceland, Italy (Tuscany, Rome, Sicily and Sorrento), Southern California, Costa Rica and Paris, but I digress! The wine: over priced and generally hardly a variety for the table of a fast food Restuarant, this was with the exception of the screw top red from Multicino. Italy. The Chianti reserve was seek and the second bottle, sent back after being taken off life support..... So, the food beak down: MammaK : lamb skewers and sardines (Two separate dishes). Meh... not a lot of pizzas with the exception of the lamb, kind of tasty. Glammom: Gnocchi- she liked it, she said the gnocchi was tasty and the toppings enhanced the experience. Me: Arancini balls - risotto, peas and I don't know what else fried into obscurity - absolutely tasteless. I then moved to the cod on greens main - I NEEDED TO PUT SALT ON FISH! Call me a snob but this dish is not to hard to bring life to...fail. Yes, the cod was cooked well but considering the entire country of England manages to do fish and chips utilizing cod, I can't imagine this is a difficult talent to acquire. So ok.... Bottom line: stay jet lagged, my friend.

The food was surprisingly good and a nice step up from the more informal Oscar's within the same Hilton. On this visit, I started off with their special appetizer of the day, an excellent brown crab (I was told by my Brit colleagues that it's basically a small Dungeness crab) which came de-shelled and stuffed back into the main carapace for easy picking. The crab meat was sweet and fresh, utterly delicious. It came with a nice lemon-based sauce that complemented the dish well. I followed this with a main course of another special of the day: a River Test rainbow trout filet that was also very good - fatty, luscious, and surely chock full of omega-3's! It was accompanied by a side of al dente asparagus and a good Hollandaise sauce. Wait service was also very attentive and cordial. A satisfying meal!

Not much of a demand for comedy writers/improv comics over there. I attended graduate school (MFA in Creative Writing) at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and I experienced some anti-American sentiment there. Consequently, I expected the same in the UK. Never saw it. Quite to the contrary, I've never been treated so well. The British treated me better than my own family, which might not be saying much. One day while my British girlfriend (We've since split up) was at work I walked over the Old Manor Pub in Walton-on-Thames during the lunch hour. I expected either anti-American sentiment or at the very least, a cold shoulder. Again the locals and I had a great time drinking your superior British beer and exchanging anecdotes. I've never had so much fun with my clothes on! I would love to email the Old Manor Pub but can't find an email address anywhere. Does anyone know how I can email them? This is a pub you definitely want to spend time in. If only that British lady hadn't dumped me I would be spending my weekends there today instead of Hollywood. I love the UK. It's the closest I'll ever get to Heaven. Sincerely, Tom Neuhoff World Humour Hollywood, California
