My husband and I waited for 10 minutes to be seated, we were the only ones waiting. Nobody ever came to seat us or check the tables. 2 employees poked their heads out, saw us waiting and didn't help us. It wasn't packed or super busy. When the flipping Egg first opened it was fantastic. I really enjoyed having breakfast there. The last three visits to the Flipping Egg have been lack luster to say the least. This mornings visit will be the last time I eat there. The bacon was limp, my over medium eggs had runny whites, the hash browns were little more than shredded baked potatoes, they showed no signs of having been on the grill at all. We stopped in on a road trip to Lubbock. The pros: They have friendly staff. The cons: We waited longer for our food than most of everyone that got there after us and the food tasted like it was made yesterday. The German pancake wasn't horrible. Too bad I can't give it less than 1 star. Service was terrible, food was even worse. No clue how to run a kitchen when at least 5 large tables seated after us got their food and half of them already left. Food finally comes out after an hour, fries looked like they had been put in the fryer more than once and just thrown on the plate with the rest of the food. It's a diner so I don't expect precision-like presentation, but I'd at least expect edible food. At least they comped it, but with the waitresses' attitude, overall terrible service, and lack of caring about what you're serving, don't just stay away. Stay far, far away. Well as we got here our hostess seated a couple before us and when questioned she said that the lady had come in and then gone out side to get her baby out of the car, so I guess this is either a place that you can leave your child in the car unattended or lie to the customer that you let the people go ahead of. Figured we would give this place a chance since it is always busy on the weekends. Thought the portions were small, food was overpriced and tasted very bland. I ordered a side of hash browns and they came on a coffee saucer. I ate the entire portion of potatoes in one bite. I don't recommend this place at all. So very disappointed in this place. My sisters and I went for breakfast at 9am on a Friday and it was full. We were seated promptly. A server arrived and took our orders.....everything is going okay. An hour and thirteen minutes later we still don't have our meals. I finally call our server over and cancel our orders. I asked to pay for our drinks and they charged us $2.80 each for a small glass of soda. Nope, we will never go back. read more

The skillet... delicious, cheesy and rich hash over biscuits smothered in gravy with eggs on top. How can you beat that? I only wish I ordered the skillet with Texas hash but next time. I've eaten there twice now. I had the German Apple Pancakes the first time. It was amazing, but in a party of 6, we had 2 orders of that and therefore, it took about 30 minutes extra before our food was ready. So my advice regarding that choice is that if you're interested in it, call in that order on your way to the restaurant, then have the rest of the party order when you get there. On the 2nd trip, I had the Senior Plate which consists of 2 pancakes (Buttermilk, Sweetcream, or Wheat), 1 piece of bacon or sausage (You can have ham for a little extra price) and 1 egg fixed any way you like. I got a fried egg, bacon and Sweetcream pancakes. These were amazing pancakes and definitely what I think I will be getting the future. They have a huge variety of items on their menu including chicken and waffle sandwiches, chicken fried steak, every single way you could imagine fixing an egg, and various types of hamburgers and sandwiches. The prices are very good as well ranging from $5-$10 depending on what you order. My husband loves it. They have terrific service and multiple people will help you. They are very family oriented there and I think this is a place that I could see us eating at nearly every weekend in the future. It certainly is better food, service, and prices than IHOP and Denny's. read more

Attempted to go to Abi Haus but they were packed with hour wait. They recommended Flipping Egg. Showed up at 10:30. They said 20 min wait. That was just about right. Got seated about 10:50. Sat down and ordered. After waiting approximately 40 minutes, we watched as tables who were seated at the same time as us received their food, ate, paid and left. Still no food. I told the waiter it had been too long and that we would like our check. Five minutes later he rushes out with our food. I told him that we weren't interested in the food as we had already asked to pay up and leave. He gave us our check and apologized. I looked at the check and they charged us for the food. This encounter probably could have been salvaged for us to maybe visit again but not after they had the nerve to charge us for the food. I would have gladly paid for the coffee but not for food after having already informed them it was too late and we no longer wanted it. We will never go back. Avoid this terrible business at all costs. Suffer the long wait for Abi Haus or go to Cracker Barrel. read more

The new manager/ hostess on June 23, 2018 was not only rude and seem to be on a power trip but she was also not willing to accommodate a very simple request of mine. I get that not all requests can be granted but being beyond impolite isn't necessary. We usually love this place--today we took my in laws for breakfast and ordered a cinnamon roll (usually delicious) and the cinnamon roll was just not good... the texture was different and the icing was different. I asked our waitress if hey had changed the recipe and told her it wasn't any good, (our waitress was very sweet) she got the manager who came out and said they couldn't comp it because they didn't change the recipe. What?? I didn't even ask her to comp it?? I just wanted to tell her that it sucked and they should go back to the old recipe. Even if they "didn't change the recipe", it was not good. And honestly, to keep a customer, you couldn't take off a, what, $3 cinnamon roll? The manager was just really weird, defensive and rude about it. She offered to get us a box to take the crap roll home. I said no thanks it was too gross to eat. Seemed silly to I was embarrassed to say it had been our favorite place. Have ate here 3 times now and I think I am done. Kept hoping each time it would better. Have tried eggs and those are good, but hash browns not crisp enough and tasted like onions? Maybe onions on grill at same time but they had a bad taste. Biscuits and gravy ....bleh. The biscuit was rock hard...almost needed a knife to cut. Waffle was blah as well.....dry and not even warm. Each time I have came the service has just been ok. This last time we went, that was not the case. one of the many issues we had was that we ordered chips with the burger when we finally got our food had fries instead of chips.
