    Harvest wrap.

This is an excellent change of pace for my husband and myself! My husband had the fish ( like sea bass) and I had the Harvest wrap. Both tasty and filling. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. Staff/Leslie was amazing and very attentive! Will be back and the desert was scrumptious! A++ and . Thank you!

Ordered to-go for lunch so I could try out their burger for the Burger Brawl and it is SO GOOD, wow!!! Look at that picture, heavenly! As always, the staff is friendly, personable, and quick. I've been here at least 40 times, I have had meetings here, date nights, drinks with friends, ordered catering, and I've never had a bad experience. They're great!!

In town to see family and looked for a place to eat with a variety on the menu. We didn't know it was happy hour but that was great. Tried the ahi appetizer. Yum. Steak and potato quesadilla. Delicious with the avocado aioli and horseradish. Ordered the southern hot mess 1/2# burger with pimento cheese and a fried green tomato drizzled with spicy Russian and lettuce/ tomato. Can with great house made chips. Crunchy with a misquote flavor. Then the stuffed avocado on a bead of lettuce and a Rueben. Finished it off with the pecan pieces with vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream, bourbon chocolate cake and turtle topped vanilla bean cheesecake! Bagged up the leftovers. Yes! Go here to eat. Staff is very friendly, clean and cool decor.

We were looking for a place for a Saturday night date night. We found this spot and were able to get a reservation at 5 PM in the bar. We were greeted right as we walked in the door, shown to our table, and instantly welcomed by the 2 wonderful servers in the bar. It was happy hour, so we ordered the Prickly Pear Lemonade & Old Fashioned from the HH menu. Both were great! My husband ordered the Ahi appetizer and said it was amazing. He also ordered the special that night which was a quail dish; he loved it. I had the Farmhouse pasta and it was fabulous. The second a drink was close to being empty or a plate was finished, someone came and took care of it right away. The staff were so friendly, the male server in the bar (I am blanking on his name) chatted with my husband about college football. He knew we were from Seattle and he was a huge Cooper Kupp fan. We really enjoyed visiting with him. We rarely order dessert, but they had a glazed donut with vanilla ice cream and caramel that was to die for! I can't wait to go back to Abilene just to eat at Cypress Street Station. It was the best meal of the trip.

We love Cypress St Station, the food and drinks are amazing, service is always spot on and the restaurants is beautiful inside. You need to go for date night.

What an unexpected find in Abilene. Very tasteful restaurant with attentive staff, especially bartender Chloe. We were greeted separately by what I assume were the owners, asking how everything was. Happy Hour menu had some tempting offers. We got the bruschetta which had loads of tomatoes but could have used a bit more pesto & Parmesan. The entree salads were simple but with very fresh lettuce. The chicken atop was plump, hot and perfectly cooked. Some added onion would have been nice. Dressings were very good. I recommend this spot in downtown

Visit #1- Oct 4.22 I came here for late lunch, and there were no crowds. The service was fast and very attentive. I ordered the Rainbow trout and substituted fries for a double salad. I must say that I was not super impressed since the fish was not fresh and drier than expected. The salad tastes precise how it looks in this picture. I will give another chance to this place since they have a diverse menu. My first impression is not the greatest, but second chances are essential in all relationships. Visit #2- Oct 10.22 I visited Cypress Street for the second time. I believe we all deserve a second opportunity. I ordered the special of the day, which was Mahi Mahi. I liked the plate in general. The fish was well-cooked, and the pasta was tasty. I think the fish could have had a bit more spices to remove the solid fishy flavor, but it was ok. I do not believe this dish should be almost fifty dollars. I will give this place a third chance. I am not impressed by the venue or the food, but I am impressed with its prices. Visit #3- Oct 18.22 A couple of friends invited me for lunch at Cypress Street for my birthday. My salad was the special of the day. The waitress did a great job in describing the dish, and she was correct; the salad was delicious. Of course, we had a good time in conversation. The venue is always busy but not loud. We finished our food and requested the check, which Amanda, the owner, brought in person. Amanda was very generous and even offered free dessert for my birthday. That type of hospitality is what makes businesses stand out. The third time was charm.

I usually avoid going through Abilene but when I saw Grain Theory pop up on an online search, I was sufficiently hungry and needing a rest so I decided to take a different route and headed to downtown Abilene. I was pleasantly surprised at the cute downtown, even more excited to find a fashionable brewery with good food and chill vibes after a long day of driving. I had dinner in the outdoor area as the sun set, and this was a lovely way wrap my day.

Located on the second story of a beautiful building in downtown Abilene sits Grain Theory, a brewpub and coffee shop towering over the city. It is a mixed indoor-outdoor space with plenty of shaded outdoor and cooled indoor seating. Looking at their tap list, my girlfriend and I were impressed by their unique beers to try. I started with the Strawberry Peach Tonic (Fruited Hard Seltzer) and she had a Bella Rose (Rosé IPA). Both were served in cool glasses, with mine being tall and skinny and hers being almost like a wine glass. Shocking to nobody, mine was quite fruity while her Rosé IPA was hoppy with an underlying rosé flavor. Next, I ordered their Oktoberfest (German Märzen) and she had their Season's End (Belgian Dubbel). She described her drink as tasting like a Biscoff cookie. My Oktoberfest was quite malty, and I was a big fan. To close, we both ordered their Luscent (Belgian Table Beer) because small beers are back in fashion and I wanted to try it. It was obviously very light but still had a good flavor that was very bready. Nice and easy to close out our drinks with. They also have food and coffee that we didn't try, but the food looked sensational from what we saw others eating. They also have plenty of board games and card games to play while you're at the brewery and many beers available to take to-go. My only minor complaint is the lack of TVs in the brewery. Maybe it's a purposeful decision, but Texas Tech was playing football, and it would be a great place to watch the game. The bartenders are very friendly and willing to let you try and sample as many beers as you need to make your decision. Grain Theory feels like the kind of place every small Texas city wishes it had. I am very excited to come back here and try more beers, especially with how excellent the space is. RIYL: Cool-shaped beer glasses or a rooftop bar

Our server was friendly and energetic. She took us through what they have. Sides are communal, there was bread, beans, mash and cream corn. These were unlimited and free but not to be taken away. My husband has the chicken fried steak. It was the size of the dinner plate. He said it was super tasty. The batter was light, and steak was moist even though it's well cooked through. I had the lunch size catfish. Chose the tartare sauce. The batter was also light and fish was flaky. I took a bite of the chicken tender (our friends ordered), it was moist too! We finished lunch with a cherry cobler and their homemade fresh cream. If was to die for. Gotta try.

I felt that the cream gravy was lack-luster and needed more seasoning. The chicken and dumplings were on-point and the sides we selected (mashed potatoes, corn and green beans) were delicious. I do wish that they had regular size spoons (or teaspoons) available. i did not like using a giant serving spoon to eat. But that did not detract from the taste of the food.
