Beautiful restaurant! This is a warm and cozy restaurant, spacious as well. The servers were polite and attentive as well. My wife and I met my brother and niece here for dinner and drinks. Wait did you say Camel? Yes. Yes I did! Like the menu says just try it, it's delicious. Had the camel tenderloin and the Maytag blu filet. Both were perfectly cooked, flavorful and the sides were equally as wonderful. Camel came with some of the best grits I've ever had and the chimichurri was plate lickingly good. The filet had golden fried potatoes and asparagus all topped with micro greens that were sumptuous. For dessert the pot d crème was exceptional. As someone who isn't a huge chocolate fan it says a lot that I ate the whole thing without putting down my spoon. All too often a touristy place like Door county serves up sub par food at ridiculous prices because they know you won't be back. Fireside is not at all that type of place and is excellent. This spot has a great variety on the menu! The restaurant itself was very clean. The chicken pot pie and butternut squash ravioli were both delicious and we would order again! The service was pretty slow which is why I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5. We do understand it was a busy night, but it did reflect our experience. Hubby and I had dinner here tonight. First, easy to get in for the two of us on a Monday night as the busy season is winding down. Reservation recommended if coming with a group larger than 4 during the busy season. The chef is from New Orleans, and does a great job combining creole southern flavors with midwest fare. Our first visit since they re-opened and moved a door or two down from their previous location. Food is still great! We went on a Sunday night after a 3:30 Packers game, so there were likely a few more people than usual showing up at the same time. There is a bar seating area and a bit more sedate dining area. Both are very casual. For this visit I got the Butternut Squash Ravioli, and my wife got the Shrimp and Grits that came with 7 shrimp. Both were fantastic...bold flavors and so, so, good. Everything we had were amazingly delicious. Prices are very reasonable for the amount we got. Started out with cheese curds very crispy outside and the Wasabi ranch sauce gave it a nice kick. The soup of the day was Chicken and vegetables. It was very filling and great to warm up as it is getting cooler at night in the fall season. Ended with the French onion braised meatloaf. It was stacked high with onion strings on top, next mashed potatoes, on top of meatloaf. There were pieces of breads all around that later soaked up the French onion soup. The meatloaf just fell apart very easily and melted in your mouth. My friends had the butternut squash ravioli. It is a lighter dish compared to the meatloaf. My wife and I were camping near Egg Harbor and walked by and saw some intriguing things on the menu, and it looked like a nice place, so we decided to stop back for dinner Monday night. We had a couple of nice drinks at the bar prior to being seated. The bartender and the owner chatted with us and were very friendly and helpful. We learned that the chef; her husband, was from New Orleans which explained some of the menu items. We shared an order of lasagna soup, which was creamy and delicious. I had the shrimp and cheese grits, which were awesome. My wife had the siracha salmon and risotto with asparagus and loved it. We ended with beignets; with sides of chocolate sauce and berry sauce for dipping. One order was 3 large beignets and they were better than the ones I had in New Orleans. We opted to sit outside since it was so nice out. They have a very nice wine list with options for all. We started with the wildberry and feta salad. one of the best in my life. So well balanced and delicious. I had the shrimp and grits and my friend had the camel bolognese. yes thats right - camel. It tastes life beef and was delicious. My family had a great dinner at Fireside. Great food and drink, and incredibly friendly service made this a fantastic experience. The restaurant had a vibrant, fun atmosphere. Far from a typical tourist trap, this felt like a restaurant that we would love to have in our home town, and we would be regulars. My young kids enjoyed their meals, including chicken and waffles that would appeal to most adults too. I appreciate that they didn't dumb down the kids food. My wife and I both went with a couple of their Cajun specialties, although I had a half dozen entrees on my short list. I had the jambalaya and my wife had the shrimp and grits. The calamari was a surprise and delicious. For dinner we got the sriracha salmon and pork chops. The salmon was well cooked but really lacked the sriracha flavor called out in the name. The pork chops were the real star. You get two HUGE chops and they are perfectly moist! Not a dry chop in this house! Our first dinner ever here in Door County and I should say that I love what I ordered. My husband loves his order as well. Customer service is fine and the waitress is attentive to our needs. My bourbon salmon dish was yum. All the ingredients complement each other. The sauce, the fish, the asparagus, the garnish, even the lemon rind I was able to include. Arrived at 5:45pm on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and there was a 45-1hr wait for the dining room but there was one table that could seat our party or 4 and a high chair in the bar area that served the same food menu as the dining area. The food was a solid 4 stars. There was an great prime rib special and 3 of us ordered the ribeye blue cheese type dish all dishes roughly $38 for a nice meat meal isn't bad in my opinion. We had the beignet and flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Those we could have skipped. I'd recommend if you can, always waiting for the dining room if you can. But have to say the food was good. Good meal - good location - friendly staff. This is a nice addition to the restaurant choices in Egg Harbor. Hubby had the Saturday nights only ribeye special which is basically prime rib. It was delicious! Perfect cooked, tender, flavorful, so good! And the veggies on the plate were also so good, crisp tender not over cooked and well seasoned. I ordered the Fireside salad which was good. The beets were shaved which is different than I'm used to but a very nice presentation. The salad was fresh and not swimming in dressing. I'd order it again for sure. When in Door County, specifically in Egg Harbor, you must eat here especially if you love cajun and southern food. They were so kind to accommodate our large group (6 adults, and 5 kids) on short notice. The restaurant is very big with indoor and outdoor dining. The staff was super courteous and got our space ready within a couple of minutes of walking in. We tried a few appetizers. The buffalo cauliflower was super crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. We also got the goat cheese apricots. This dish was ok since the apricots were a bit tarte. For the main meal the adults ordered the Big Easy Jambalaya, Monterey Shrimp and Goat Cheese Grits, Chicken Feta Florentine, Butternut Squash Ravioli, and Bourbon Sriracha Salmon. All the dishes were fantastic but the monterey shrimp and grits as well the jambalaya was the highlight for me. The kids ordered the parmesan noodles, southern fried chicken, and chicken waffles. The best dish here was the chicken and waffles. The portion size for the kids meal were big so it can easily be shared with two kids. One of the best features of this restaurant is that they serve all kids meal on a frisbee which you can take home after you finish your meal. They will clean it for you before you take it home. We also tried the beignet on their dessert menu which was comparable to what you would find in New Orleans. The owner was also nice and gave us a little history on the restaurant and the different items they have as season delicacies on their menu like camel and alligator. Our server Amir was very attentive to our needs. Overall, if you love cajun food, I would highly recommend you visit the Fireside restaurant next time you are in Egg Harbor. read more

We ate at Fireside Thursday night. It was amazing!! I had an Asian pork belly on Risotto. My husband had Jambalaya as the chef is from Louisiana and it is authentic. Spicy... others had the Bleu Steak and Florentine Chicken. All was out of sight!! The chef/owner and his wife came out to walk the crowded dining room to ensure we were well served and fed. When looking for a good place to eat in the area this place kept coming up. It is a hit with locals and the tourist. If you plan on going here to eat you better make reservations. The restaurant is nice and big. All servers are following the covid protocol by cleaning the tables between guest and wearing masks at all time. Restaurant is neat with good clean bathrooms. The owner was walking around making sure the food and customer experience was memorable. The owner stopped by to explain the different menu items and give her recommendations, especially the special of the month which was a camel. Earlier they had alligator meat. Our server Emir was great and made sure food came out just right and we did not have any complaints. We tried a lot of food and everything we had was very flavorful. The salmon was cooked just right with nice spice on it. The Chicken feta with lemon flavor was finger licking good. Their jambalaya was just like eating in New Orleans. After talking to the owner we found that the chef is from a place near New Orleans hence the food quality was just like eating an authentic southern food. Kids ordered chicken and waffle from the kids menu and were surprised by their plates being a Frisbee. Basically after the kids are done eating they can take their Frisbee as a souvenirs. This place earned 2 stars because of the service. Food was amazing!! We were seated on the bar area because it was extremely busy. Our server approached our table and took our drink order. We ordered the Bayou Alligator immediately before he walked away. He came back to ask if we were ready to order and we did. He came back with our dinner quickly but we had no drinks not even water, no silverware and the appetizer hadn't even come yet. He said "oh it didn't come out yet"? We still wanted to try the gator so he said he would check on it. How did you not know it didn't come out yet? You should be checking on that! You would think that something would've been accommodated but nothing was. Didn't even phase him as being an issue so our experience was backwards.
