    Maryland-Style Crab Cakes

Wow this place is BUSY! They are bumpin, probably because of their attachment to the resort. It's wall the wall people, even just waiting for a pick up order. We ordered the shrimp scampi, crab cakes, and the Granny Smith salad. The shrimp scampi was drowned in grease and butter, the crab cakes were good, but mushy and on top of rotted lettuce. The salad was okay. It's fine food for when you are at the resort, but I think the prices are too high for what you get.

Should say I loved what I ordered -- my salmon is cooked just right, the sauce was on the sweeter side but it's ok, the veggies were not overcooked and the fingerling potatoes were not overcooked. My hubby didn't really like his because it's not the typical chicken piccata that he was familiar with. He said it tasted like raw garlic and lemon. And the chicken didn't look like a piccata (light colored). He was trying to season it with salt and pepper to his liking but gave up eventually. I combined our order -- my fish and his fettuccine, and ended up liking it. They complement each other. The sweetness of my fish balanced his tangy fettuccine that's why I took a picture of it. Overall experience.. it was fair. Our waiter was attentive on the start when we were about to get our order then got tied up towards the end.

If your looking for mediocre food and terrible service then you've hit the jackpot. I hope you want French fries because that's about the only thing coming out of the kitchen that's fairly edible. FYI our Waiter didn't know what a dirty martini was! Never refilled our waters and My sister ordered a quesadilla and they didn't give her the sour cream and salsa it was supposed to come with! Taco Bell does better. On top of that the manager was rude straight to our face. He said he would get the check, we told him we need two checks and he said why don't you make it more complicated!!! Customer is not always right I guess...

Carrington Pub & Grill in Door County, WI. CHEESE CURDS-I mean, come on. When in Wisconsin...gooey, piping hot fried cheese? Does it get better?? Only negative IMO? Bottled ranch dressing is gross; get a better product or make your own! The generic Sysco ranch should be illegal in "fine" dining establishments. #ranchsnob FRIDAY FISH FRY-lightly battered cod, creamy slaw, homecut steak fries (think steak fry meets curly fry) and a side of tartar sauce. Freshly fried and hot, great flavor. TILAPIA-lightly battered tilapia with a baked potato. Batter is different than the cod, more flavor and lighter, but delicious. Two awesome sized fillets piping hot. PULLED PORK SAMMICH-this one is unique. The pulled pork is a combination of tart cherries and pulled bbq pork (when cherry pie meets the oinker)! It was uniquely satisfying to the taste buds, and I don't love cherry pie nor bbq but this was a different and exciting twist. Last, but not least, LIMONCELLO PASTA-Scallops and mussels pasta in a lemon butter sauce. I am glad I didn't order this, though I had planned to, as the first thing I noticed were that they were bay scallops and that's a turnoff for me in most pasta recipes. It's like ordering "crab" in my pasta and getting pollock imitation crab NO! But my friend said his was great, buttery and tasty, and a hint of lemon. Black mussels were plentiful. Cherry tart and chocolate lava cake to top the evening off. Tart was so hot it bubbled at the table, and chocolate lava cake I wouldn't call a lava cake but it definitely was chocolatey. When I think lava I think flowing chocolate, this was just chocolate cake (though very good). Outdoor seating required a reservation, unfortunately. I don't love outdoor seating but in this instance I was excited, then disappointed after finding out there were no tables open. Inside was a cool 50° requiring me to borrow my friend's jean jacket to keep from breathing ice . Staff all wore masks, server was kind and from Bulgaria, food and drinks were VERY PROMPT (no waiting around long for food here!)!!!

Please do yourself a favor and dine somewhere else. We got our food to go, as the weather was chilly and we originally wanted to eat on their beautiful patio. We got our food home, and my boyfriends Ribeye was GRAY! a $38 "steak frites" was disgustingly salty fries, a gray steak, and old wilted greens on top of it! I am livid we paid this much for such inedible food. He even tried putting ketchup on the steak to tolerate it... so gross. I ordered "the award winning" cherry BBQ ribs, they weren't bad. Not anything to write home about, though. Skip this place and go to Chop like we should have.

Amazing service and a view to die for. We so enjoyed our dinner there. They could expand their menu offerings some I think.

Let me start off by…read moresaying that supper clubs are a different monster than normal restaurants I believe this location is only open certain days during the week. Upon arrival we could see that the hostess or floor manager I am not sure which position she held was a little snappy and a little under pressure which of course is not the best way to start dinner. Upon sitting down after about a 20 minute wait we opened up our napkins and noticed that there was a hair and some dried or crusty food on a few of our napkins. The salt shakers look like they haven't been replaced since the creation of the facility however if I digress the food was very good and after being seated we waited for about 15 to 20 minutes before a server came to us but she was phenomenal once she took our table. We would try them again but I hope from a hygiene perspective they take a little bit more pride in cleaning the utensils and amenities throughout the restaurant

I recently saw Mr. G's advertised on a Travel Wisconsin page as one of those "must try" supper…read moreclubs scattered throughout our state. Seeing the ad coincided nicely with a planned Door County wedding anniversary day trip for my wife and I. It seems every time we visit Door County we are always traveling the west side of the peninsula. Mr. G's is on the east side and right on Hwy 57. This worked nicely in forcing us to drive south from Sister Bay with a focus on hitting Mr. G's. This place is definitely an old school Wisconsin supper club. Pretty certain the building hasn't had a full remodel in years and why would you when you have that classic look going on. Retro is coming back. So what makes a supper club. Sitting at the bar having an old fashioned or two. A cheese & cracker tray and in this case chips/salsa as well. A pre meal salad bar of course is a must for a true supper club. For our entrees we went with the full rack of ribs and the ribeye. My wifes steak was prepared just as ordered and had a hint of buttery goodness with each bite. They boast award winning ribs. They were fall off the bone tender with excellent flavor. The ribs come with two sauce choices (cherry flavor & original). I went with the classic and was pleased with the spice. My wife also ordered her entree with the potato pancakes which is not something always offered as an option. Our waitress Jean was attentive throughout and offered excellent input on the history of the restaurant and what to order. We had an excellent experience and may have to consider visiting the east side of the peninsula more often.
