Great place! I chose to sit at the bar with a beautiful view of the bay below the ledge Carrington is built on. The bartender was helpful and friendly, and didn't disappoint with the recommendation of the fish. Interesting it was Cod rather than the usual Perch or Walleye for a Friday night fish fry. The serving came with three good sized filets with a nice light batter, and also included fries, slaw and rye bread. All of it was very good and very filling so I didn't request more fish. On Friday night, it's all you can eat! Next time you are in Egg Harbor, give Carrington's a try!! read more

This place is a hidden gem! It has the best view in Door County! I wasn't sure how good the food would be because the decor inside is a little dated and I thought it would be "pub" food. Well I was pleasantly surprised when I took the recommendation of our server Angela, she was attentive and kind and fast! I did notice that the kitchen seems far from the outside deck where we sat so I appreciated the staff who all seemed to be moving quickly. She recommended the "Shrimp Florentine" amazing massive grilled shrimp with sweet potatoes and veggies. It was so delicious! Not sure what the sauce was but mmmmmm..... I'm a wine drinker and they had my favorite bottle of Cab "Franciscan" which I was shocked to see for 1/2 the price you'd normally see it anywhere else. I love the places that don't offend your wallet just because you have a view and you're at a hotel. We didn't stay at the hotel but we may next time cause it looks so nice, with fire pits and pools everywhere. Overall this place exceeded our expectations, we will definitely be back!!! read more

The fourth is always a crazy time for resorts, but a good business will take that into consideration and staff appropriately. Today we tried to eat lunch at the Carrington, where they had one server and one manager trying to wait on about 10 tables. The server was new and didn't understand English very well. We waited about 10 minutes to place our order, and food took another 20-30. Once our meal came, we realized she made several mistakes on the food, including serving our daughter the wrong meal. Additionally, she failed to bring us silverware or ask us if we needed condiments. Instead of waiting for another 10 minutes to get silverware, I got up to help myself. After all that he food was marginal. When I complained to the manager, we found out they were short staffed because everyone else was in the parade. He apologized defensively while walking away and ignored me when I asked for his name. Poor management decisions all around. read more

Invited two other couples to join us for their comedy show/dinner. Buffet was just okay. Prime rib was way over cooked (Grey). Bar that charges resort prices was really weak on their pours. Ran out of several choices and refused to go get more. When I mentioned it to the manager, then they went and restocked. First comedian forgot the words to his song he sung. Second comedian was a little rough with his language. Third comedian was not that funny. Two couples actually got up and left. We'l never do that again. read more

We had a group of 14 (!) with reservations and were so courteously and promptly seated that we were impressed! Our waiter Vlad was a joy to have, witty and charming but oh so professional. With a group that size (he was only server for our group), one could easily see some slowness or confusion but no! All were served cocktails and menu items without hesitation. We even had to have seven separate checks and he came through like a champ! I will comment on my dinner only but rest assured that all diners (of 14 people, 11 of us ordered different things from fish fry to sandwiches to pasta to steak) enjoyed their meal. I had the half rack ribs with cherry bbq sauce (alternate was traditional bbq sauce), garlic mash potatoes (style of the day) and coleslaw. Ribs were tender but not overly cooked, sauce was so good I had to look up a recipe on my way home, Cole slaw was fine. Mash was slightly under seasoned and a bit firm (I prefer mine creamier) but were definitely homemade. Cocktails (I had a whiskey old fashioned sweet) were perfect. Large sized cocktail with enough booze that one was all I needed. No room for dessert. I'll save that for next time! read more

Starting with the drinks - has the triple berry mule and it was delish. My entree was the line-caught walleye and it was one of the best I've ever had. It was lightly breaded, but the flavor and seasonings were amazing - not fishy at all, which is what I like. My girlfriend had the ribs and thought they were out of this world, dell right off the bone and wasn't a whole lot of fat, not to mention the cherry bbq sauce - even the fries were amazing. Buyer beware!! Giving them a one star is being to kind. Never again. Under staff, rude and switch prices when menu says a different price. Their prices are not the same online to the prices at the restaurant. They wouldn't honor the online prices. Said they were old . I think they should of honored it and get their web page up to date. The location was a little tricky to find at first, but once you do, it is great! The view is absolutely SPECTACULAR! However, if you do sit outside in the summertime, it will smell like manure - not overwhelmingly so, but still a bit. The service was nice. We had a nice waitress that was back and forth, asking how our meal was and if we needed anything. We even got a free glass of their house wine when you mention Yelp! The food was delicious. We has the Rachel Sandwich, the Ranch Chicken Club, the Four Cheese Pasta, and the Landmark Sandwich. We are recommending this place to all of our Door County friends! read more

I feel bad for this place. Lots of seemingly clueless, but trying to be helpful, staff around, but who is really running the show? This place begs for some real leadership. Great views in the outdoor seating area, but food is way lackluster. Service was very slow; I chuckled to myself listening to two different servers in a row apologize for the wait for various items. We were told a diner couldn't get mac n cheese, a standard side dish, without ordering an entree, but was then given a baked potato side no problem. It seemed that requests out of the usual were dealt with in an abitrary manner, just decided on in the moment. This place was crowded which was unfortunate for everyone from the disappointed diners to the harried staff. For being a go-to and on-site dining spot for an entire, year-round condo/resort community, this place better get it together! read more

Open to the public, frequented vacation / resort area, but NO PETS. Really disappointed, and a missed service opportunity. No notice was posted about pets, and inconsistent direction. Looked like a great place for dinner and drinks with outdoor seating. Would have spent a couple of hundred dollars. Asked the host about a pet policy if we sit on the patio, and he said no problem. So my wife and I sit outside with our 4lb Yorkie, and start figuring out our drinks and dinner. A server then comes out and asks if the dog is a service dog, which it isn't. This was perhaps one of the worse places I've ever eaten! Ordered the filet tenderloin, everything came to the table cold. The waitress took it back, returned after a few minutes and it was slightly warmer: gave up and just tried to eat it: still horrible! No flavor and just slightly warm, vegetables were cold, baked potato came back warm but not hot. Salad was horrible too, there were black spots of rotten lettuce: we alerted the waitress and she did nothing; not even offering to take it off the bill. Just was there, my steak was cold and wasn't seasoned and didn't have any flavor at all, it was as if the steak had been sitting in a cooler for awhile.. A friend had the same with his steak. No sorry from the staff only offered to reheat. The jumbo shrimp were not jumbo either. The presentation of a $25 dollar steak plus the $5 for the shrimp is very lack luster. Had the Sangria and it tasted like Koolaid I have been to this restaurant every year as we come up for the triathlon and stay at the Landmark and it is always the same.. crappy at the best. How the hell is this place getting good reviews?.. This is by far the worst restaurant I have been to.. Service was just as bad. The food was good. We called to make a reservation for 7 and arrived at 6:45. Our table wasn't ready until 7:20 so the hostess suggested to get a drink at the bar. As soon as we sat down, one of the female bartenders with pink hair loudly said we'll get to you as soon as we can. Understandable- as it was a busy Friday night. However, the longer we sat there, the louder she got and continued to complain how busy they were. She was basically yelling orders with a poor attitude. A group of 7 elderly women come over to order drinks and she was extremely rude and condescending to them. While one woman was ordering and said it was going to be separate checks, the bartender said it's going to be much longer (after one of the other ladies said to put it on one tab) and shouted out the price. Because of how she was acting, we left the bar. Once we finally sat down at our table for our meal, we could still hear her yelling and even swearing in an Extremely unprofessional tone! We understand that it's a busy night and we were more than willing to wait; however, being so rude to customers is unacceptable! I would not go to this place again because of the service and I would not recommend to anyone else staying in Egg Harbor. read more

I would not eat here again. 1) Took forever to get waited on after being seated. 2) They have a popcorn machine in the lobby and I was never offered any while I waited. 3) My salad was included with main course, but rather being served first, it was served with the main course. Wonderful view, delicious drinks, quick and helpful staff. If you're only looking for drinks and a view, I'd wholeheartedly recommend this place. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre and overpriced. During my stay in Egg Harbor, this is the only restaurant I truly regretted going to (not to mention the most expensive one!). I tried the Butternut Squash Soup, Garlic Breadsticks, Apple Walnut Salad, and the Four Cheese Pasta. Soup ($4.50): Not bad. A little bland, but it tasted much better once I added crackers. Breadsticks ($8.99): Pretty good, but appears to have come from the freezer. The breadsticks themselves were tasty, as was the marinara sauce, but the cheese sauce was... odd. It reminded me more of a tasteless nacho sauce rather than something that goes with an Italian-style appetizer. Overall, you can do worse, but it's too expensive for me to justify getting again. Salad ($11.99): Also overpriced, this salad consists exclusively of iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced apples, raspberry vinaigrette, and way too many walnuts. Fortunately I like walnuts, but when the salad was delivered I couldn't even see the lettuce. It was my favorite thing I tried, but was still just average. Pasta ($13.99): The worst thing I tried. Please do not order this. The sauce reminds me far too much of Chef Boyardee. If you can get past the overwhelming taste of canned ravioli, you get to enjoy a decent helping of Kraft shredded cheese. We ate lunch here yesterday. Food was fabulous! I ordered a salad with a side of salmon and sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries are waffle fries! Yum! The salmon was the best piece of seafood I have had at a restaurant in a long time! Wow! And everyone at the table LOVED their side salad and I loved my meal sized salad! Full of leafy mixed greens, fresh mushrooms, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion. Just fabulous! Both my children were able to have gluten free buns for their hamburgers as well as regular and sweet potato fries. The cheese curds and margaritas were great, as is the view from the patio. However, they have some really unethical business practices. We ordered 6 Caesar salads, which the menu clearly states includes your choice of crispy or grilled chicken. They still charged us an additional $6/salad, for a total of $21 each for a small Caesar. When I pointed it out, the waitress was very confused, spoke to her boss, came back and said that the menu was wrong and the chicken was an additional cost, but they would not charge us for it this time as a "courtesy." She brought a revised bill, but when I gave her my card, she added the extra $36 back on the bill before running my card. When I pointed it out afterwards, she argued with me and told me it had been taken off. When I showed her the line item that included the extra $36, she said she'd need to speak to her boss again. She came back out 15-20 minutes later, and said that they could not void the transaction and rerun it (which is not true). She then offered a round of drinks "on the house" to make up for it -- but in fact, we paid for it out of the $36 we shouldn't have been charged. All in all, I wasted an extra hour at the end of the meal, just to be charged $36 (plus tax) without my authorization, and given a drink that I didn't want. I would not go back, and would recommend avoiding this restaurant unless you want unauthorized charges on your bill. There are too many other good local restaurants who are honest (and delicious). read more

We were looking for a nice place to eat after getting into town and getting settled in our hotel room. After striking out trying to call a couple of restaurants in Fish Creek, we decided to bop on down to Egg Harbor and onto the grounds of the Landmark Resort, where you will find Carrington's. It's family-restauranty casual, and the menu is not spectacularly upscale, so this fit our expectations as to being no-hassles and getting reasonably good food. And this was the case; whereas a more image-conscious place might prepare you a decent walleye filet with the usual fixins, Carrington goes one better and gives you the other half of the fish. I had a LOT of really nice walleye for dinner. Service was a little frazzled but never got things wrong or got to our table with less than a smile and the right stuff we ordered. Overall, we had a nice, relaxing dinner. It was a bit of a drive from Fish Creek, but certainly worth it. (GPS user's pro tip: if you are heading here from downtown Egg Harbor, and have driven a mile or so out of town, when you get to the Y intersection, take the road that goes uphill. My GPS was distinctly unhelpful.) read more

We thought the setting and view were wonderful for lunch. The service was the worth possible. There was only person seating people, taking orders and carrying out the food. We waited 45 minutes to get our food and when we did my soup was a tiny "bowl" and it was cold. There was no meat or cheese in my husbands chopped salad. I was astounded at had bad it all was. My husband had to get on a business call in an hour and a half and we thought we had plenty of time. We had to wolf the food down and I had to go into the inside of the restaurant from the patio to get the check so we could leave or we would been delayed at least another 15 or 20 minutes more. We checked in the afternoon to see if reservations were taken for the evening meal. No, they do not, but they were helpful on when was the best time for a short wait, if any.. 6PM. Great, we arrived at 6 and were told it would be a half hour wait for a table on the deck. They took our name, handed us a buzzer devise and we went to the bar. My wife order a glass of wine, which was fine. I ordered a very dry Martini. The bartender had to ask me how that was made. I taught her how. We waited, well over half an hour and the back deck was empty. Some tables were set up for up to 6 people together and they along with a number of two-tops were empty. We saw people whom arrived after us and were a couple arrive, sit at the bar for only a few minutes and then were seated. This happened with 3 couples. Perhaps they have a policy involving guests of the hotel, but we were never asked if we were. I'd like to have that explained to me. After 45 minutes or so, our buzzer went off and we were shown to a table. Nice view of the lake. This next part of the event was no fault of anyone at the place. It started to rain and heavy winds, an umbrella lifted up and landed on the deck and headed right for me. At that point we went in. Once inside, we were told that we could have a seat in the lobby if we could find a table there. OK, lots of people waiting, using all the tables in the lobby.. What then? We headed for the bar on our own, and were told we could be served there. I ordered the (From their menu on line) Tenderloin Fillet Thick, center-cut top tenderloin steak. Well-flavored, lean and tender. You will not be disappointed. $21.99 My wife ordered Southwest Tilapia Seasoned tilapia fillet baked to perfection. Topped with freshly-made Pico de Gallo. $16.99 We waited again, a long time for our food to arrive. They bring in all of the food through the front door of the establishment. I suspect that this is because they cater events and have the kitchen My steak was not to my order of medium rare. It was well done, dry, chewy and yes even cold. It was served with stir fried mixed veggies that reminded me of something from a bag of vegetables slightly fried in olive oil. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper. I would have asked them to re-do the steak, but did not want to wait another 25 minutes to eat. The entire meal was missing a sauce. Thinking back, I should have asked for some steak sauce to try to put some flavor into the steak. It was lifeless and bland. I'm sorry for the cow that was lost for that steak. It deserved better. The baked potato was, well, OK, hard to ruin that, except for serving it cool like the rest of the food. So, actually, I was dissapointed. My wife experienced the Tilapia to be overcooked, dry and yes, cold. While it had a sauce, it was sparse and not very tasty. She though the same thing about her mixed vegetables and potato. We did enjoy the breadstick. So, we spent nearly $40.00 plus drinks on lousy food and tepid service. I suspect two things are involved. Sysco center of plate, portion controlled food is being purchased and sadly, mis-cooked. They provide a quality product, but you have to treat it with care. Secondly, the distance between the kitchen to tables is lengthy and they do not, as we saw, put the food under a clouche so it gets cold. As for the service. I think they have not properly trained their staff. For example, the host came in and asked the bartender to help him with a difficulty he had working out a tip on a shared table. She was gone for about 15 minutes, while we were finishing up our dinner and awaited the check. We had to ask another server to find her and people had been waiting at the bar that length of time. Another server stepped behind the bar about 10 minutes after she left, trying to at least serve beer. Again, he had to ask how a drink was made each time. Would I go back. I had a mediocre experience here in the past. I went back this weekend and was glad to see that things have improved greatly. The menu has a lot of diversity for a pub/grill. Service was fantastic. This was awful! Landmark guests: *do not eat here! Take the trip to egg harbor, or order in. The bar is fine, there is seating indoors and out. We had the spinach bacon salad, chicken dinner, pork chops, and walleye. overpriced and inedible. Green beans were almost raw, stuffing was from a box, my kids wouldn't eat more than two bites of the mashed potatoes. Mashed potatoes are their favorite. The pork chops and chicken were done nicely. The walleye was terrible. The salad was nice, with spinach, bacon, candied cherries, candied cashews, apples, and cheese. However, be sure to ask for the dressing on the side for the salad, it's very sugary. read more
