Visiting friends in Door County WI looking for a great breakfast & decided to try The Rusty Tractor. Did NOT disappoint! Wonderful menu, & super cute atmosphere. My wife & I split The John Deere meal, which was huge, and scrumptious. My friends had the#2 skillet with eggs, hash browns, bacon, tomatoes, spinach & Gouda cheese. Was impressed. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. $9 for a mimosa? Fine I can live with that, but we waited over an hour and a half for our food. Breakfast food. It should never take that long to Make some pancakes. There really is no ambiance as it is an old barn. read more

We loved our breakfast here! Such a cute and funky atmosphere. First of all, whoever chooses the playlist, I love you. Every song was fantastic and I was singing along. Secondly, the fact that I can order a mimosa when I put my name in to wait is also amazing (I had the cherry one). We came on a Saturday and had a 45 min quoted wait (actual time was probably 30), and looked around at the hilarious and cute items for purchase. Once we sat down to eat, my husband and I shared scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast and the specialty stuffed French toast of the day, which was mixed berry. Food was absolutely delicious! We also grabbed a crème brûlée donut to go which we shared later on and that was also delectable. You will most likely wait a bit since this is a popular place but there is stuff to look at to hold you over and drinks to order (coffee drinks too) while you listen to some good tunes. Food, service, and ambience was great. They have a store that you can browse while you wait for your table.

This place is off the beaten path a little bit, you'll want to plan a stop on the way up or on the way down from the peninsula. There's not a ton around it, but it's worth a stop in my opinion. They are really only open for breakfast- pay attention to the hours before you make the trip. Once inside we were seated quickly (note we went on a Monday morning around 930/10). There's only 10 or so tables and they are mostly for groups of 4 or less. You can pull up chairs but it'll be tight. I liked that there's a small enough menu that makes deciding really quick. Despite the menu raving about the stuffed French toast we went with a traditional American breakfast. I spent about $14 on two eggs over easy, hashbrowns with cheese, and two pieces of toast. For us, the food was great, we always judge a place on their hashbrowns and they didn't disappoint. Our server was also super friendly and came back multiple times to check on us. Once we finished we browsed the giftshop and noticed a cute coffee shop as well. We'll come back and I recommend checking it out. read more

The Rusty Tractor is a must stop for us when we visit Door County. The food is consistently great, this time we had biscuits and gravy which was one of the better versions I have had recently. Also the breakfast burrito my son got was delicious as I made him share and the fresh pico really livened up the dish. read more

Odd- there was only one family seated in our eight table section, but they would not let our family of 5 sit together unless it was in a four person booth. The other table laughed at the ridiculousness as well. We politely asked if we could push two tables together and were told by two people that we could not because their kitchen was too small? The atmosphere rates much better- very cute, but the food was bland- congealed cheese on unseasoned potatoes with off-tasting mushrooms. Our waitress was delightful and the kids' pancakes and French toast were fine, but we won't be coming back after the weird customer service. After expressing our feelings with the waitress the manager came over, not to apologize for the situation but to sternly tell us they only had two cooks. Setup was good, great location. Not setup for large groups. Service was great, attentive and not overly so. Food was very good! Husband liked the scramble breakfast. I did the French toast special. Stuffed French toast with apple, caramel, whipped cream and peanuts. I was expecting it to be very sweet and it was a bit over that. Loved the flavor profiles and intention but yikes it was over my very high Sweet tolerance. Still delicious but I think if the caramel was applied lightly it'd be a bit better. Went here for a quick breakfast and we liked what we had. Tried their French toast special, which was very good. We asked for egg whites in place of regular eggs on another dish, and that ended up being an extra $4, which was somewhat odd. Apart from that upcharge, we had no big complaints. read more

We came in with a group of 7 adults and 6 children (quiet, 1-12 years) at around 10am, and the hostess said 'oh great.' From there, we had to work to even get quoted a wait time. It did not appear to be busy on a Friday morning. They proceeded to ask staff around us if they would serve us, and they all said no. The hostess then said she would need approval from the manager to even serve us. After 10 minutes of back and forth and reluctance on their part, we left. It felt, very much, that they did not want our business. We found a great place fifteen minutes down the road that had delicious food, and provided excellent service. read more

Went to the Rusty Tractor on a Sunday morning at about 9am. We waited about 30 minutes to get a table. They have a nice waiting area outside as well as some tables and stools inside to wait. They have a gift shop area selling various household and kitchen items. After we ordered, the wait for food was not long at all. At our table of four we had the following items: French toast with a side of sausage, The John Deere, and international scrambler, and the farmers wife with (which is a Monte cristo sandwich). There was a good amount of food for the price. Everyone had good reviews of their meals. We would definitely go back to the rusty tractor! 06/29/19: Another great visit! Neat place. Yes it's in an actual barn. Breakfast was great and there was a lot of it! I had the Framall (named after a tractor) breakfast burrito and it was packed with eggs, hash browns, and veggies. All the ingredients where super fresh and vert tasty. We ended up coming here twice on a long weekend in Door County, the food was so good. Quite possibly the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had! Worth the long wait on Saturday, and we were seated immediately on Monday morning when we returned. The best thing about this place was the service. Our waitress was on top of everything. For a place that is a "breakfast barn" the offerings were pretty minimal and basic. Coffee was watered down. Not a lot of options if you like sweet breakfast items. The only special was for french toast. Not a lot of seating. There was a party of 10 and they were split up across three tables - even though there were other tables in a non-walkway area that could have been put together for them. Odd. You get a solid meal, you'll leave full, and you'll pay about the same as other places in the area. But this would be my back-up plan place, like if the place you really want to go to has a long wait or is closed. read more

This place is a perfect stop for breakfast. We got there right before the rush. They are only open for breakfast and close at noon. Built in a old barn with farm decor inside. The minute we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff. We were taken right to our table and our waitress had our menus within 3 minutes. She was extremely friendly! Besides the building being unique, it was VERY clean including the bathrooms. It's a simple breakfast that's done very well. We will be back when we are back in Door County! read more

On a recent visit to Door County Wi, we usually stop for breakfast at a certain diner. Today was no different, except our usual restaurant was closed and looked like it hadn't been open this year. The outside was overgrown and neglected. We called the number on the door and finally got someone to answer. She assured us they (village cafe) would be open soon. They never did open and there was absolutely NO signage saying that they were closed...anywhere. So we continued down the road to the Rusty Tractor and was delighted that we did!! This place was awesome. Food was great and portions huge!! This is our new, very favorite breakfast place in Door County!! Large paking lot, right off hy42 and the rustic decor was excellent. Staff was fast and friendly. During this Covid crap, we were asked to remain masked until our server took our order. Not an unreasonable request. Wanted to grab a quick breakfast in door county and this was on the way to our destination. It had a rustic Americana diner type of decor which was nostalgic that I appreciated. My friends and I all ordered the classic two eggs with hash browns and choice of meat. The eggs were cooked just right and the hash browns were well seasoned. Love this joint. Always great service, food was spectacular. Typically meals out are interesting to be generous, but when the two kids are shoveling in their delicious food (not leaving any extra for dad) it amazing. Bathrooms were immaculate and had a full fledge changing table not on of those plastic flip downs. If I could give them more stars I would. We don't always go out for breakfast on our vacations to Door County, but this time we were looking to try something new, something different. I did a simple Google search and came up with The Rusty Tractor. Not only was it new and different, the breakfast food was very good and good value for the price we paid. The menu is fun and not surprisingly tractor themed. It's an old barn (I don't know if it's a restored barn, or built for this purpose, but unique nonetheless) with fun themed decorations on the wall. We will come back again. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfasts of all time. I had their special of the day Pecan Sticky Bun Stuffed French toast. My daughter had their stuffed Birthday Cake French Toast, my MIL had their flatbread, and my husband had their biscuits and gravy with eggs. We all left stuffed.
