    Crab nachos
    Jackie M.

Lure is laid back, yet upscale sea themed casual dining in downtown Sister Bay. (Appears to be the same owners as Chop down the street.) Influences from Japanese cuisine (sushi rolls, teriyaki salmon, tempura shrimp), Hawaii (tuna poke), as well as right at home in the Great Lakes region (the Wisconsin Fish Fry, walleye). Plus a really unique addition with the crab nachos. The chips were not your typical tortilla chips, but uniquely hand fried with almost a pork rind texture. Great cocktails and mocktails (I recommend the blueberry lemon drop). My husband got the black cod and it was amazing! This is the third time in a year I have seen black cod on a menu. The last two times were in Oahu and Miami, so the owners/chefs are on top of what's on trend. The decor with the giant fishing lures is great. Happy to have gotten reeled in again with this whimsical dining option.

Beautiful restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoors you can have a dog with you. Food was excelkent. The four of us had wonderful meals including tuna roll for appetizer. Seafood pan Roast which had scallops, shrimp, lump crab, andouille sausage, spicy brandy tomato cream,; Alaskan halibut; Surf & Turf; and a 6 oz filet mignon. My advice is go because you will have a great meal.

I had a delicious fish fry dinner with locally caught whitefish. Many local Wisconsin beer choices. They have a nice outdoor patio too if the weather is good. Service was good too! You will definitely need a reservation here as it is quite busy even on a Sunday evening for dinner. Overall, I enjoyed eating here.

Saturday Happy Hour!? Loved stopping in for drinks and small bites for their daily Happy Hour (4:30-6pm). Our group got a wide variety of the small bites to try. The overall favorites were the Spicy Tuna Roll, Crab Nachos, & Calamari. The portion sizes varied with each dish but everything came at a very fair price. I also ordered the Wisconsin Old Fashioned (bourbon & pressed) and I thought it was super tasty! I wasn't familiar with being asked the serving styles but our waitress was great about explaining it thoroughly to me!

Had a great meal, and great service with Walter. We went for the early bird special, had the whitefish almandine, crusty bread (for 6.95) , and it was delicious. Dinners came with a salad (Caesar) and a dessert. Had the fillet which was an up charge of about 8 dollars, mashed potatoes and greens. Would gladly come again to this restaurant.

This is completely service related review! We sat down and no one even approached us for at least 15 min. I get it! The world is short staffed but at least show up and recognize us. We ordered drinks and they didn't show up until after we placed our food order so why bother ordering more drinks since they wouldn't show up until after we eat. We started with the Spicy Tuna roll and it was OK but the rice was dry and the roll fell apart very easily. I was headed for the Lobster Risotto but they were out so I had the Seafood Pasta. It was OK but didn't have a lot of flavor. We could have easily spent another $50 if they would have offered better service or even if they offered desert. Probably our last visit to Lure

    Such a pretty building

What a beautiful building with delicious food to match! 2 of us walked in on a Friday night, & to our surprise we were able to be seated outdoors in less than 30 min. While we waited for a table, we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar. The bartenders were attentive & fun to watch. We were seated at a beautiful table & our server took our orders promptly. We chose the crab cake appetizer & each got a sushi roll. Each item was freshly prepared & packed with flavor. This Sister Bay gem is not to be missed!

We went to Lure to celebrate my birthday and I'm very glad we chose here! We went at 5pm in order to get the Early Dining Menu. It was $30 for an appetizer, main dish, and dessert (not pictured). For the quality of food I think this deal was a great deal! We also snagged a few happy hour drinks ($5 old fashioned and $2 off rail drinks). The appetizers: I could have ate 10 plates of the Caesar salad. It was delicious and the fresh grated Parmesan was delicious. I had some of David's calamari and it was SO flavorful. There were fried jalapeños mixed in which added a great kick. Main Meals: We got the Salmon and Beef tips. These were both recommended by our very nice server. They were AMAZING! No food was left behind. Dessert: We got the sundae which was basic (vanilla ice cream, chocolate fudge and nuts) but tasted great! We were STUFFED but very happy by the end. Definitely check Lure out next time you're in Door County and looking for a nicer restaurant to eat at.

The food was excellent! Everything we tried was amazing. It was a super cute place and it had great service. I'm still dreaming about the sushi and I can't wait to come back!

This place really "lured" me in ;) We came here based on a recommendation from a friend and it did not disappoint! They have happy hour during the week till 5:30 so we showed up a bit before then. I recommend getting here early as the parking lot fills up fast! We sat at the bar for cornbread and wine. The cornbread was so crispy with a great flavor and for only $3 it's a must! They also do a deal during the week for an app, meal and dessert for $30 but you have to order before 5:30pm so we went and sat down for dinner. All the wait staff was super friendly thought our visit. We ordered cocktails which were pretty good and then our three course dinner. All I can say is WOW. Some of the best food we had on our trip! I definitely recommend the white fish, so flakey and a perfectly paired cream sauce on top. Dessert was a great way to finish it off right! If you are in Door Country this should be on the top of your list!

Had I arrived any later, I would have had to wait for a table, which would have been terrible. There is no good space to sit and wait for a table; the bar is tiny; the bar abuts the front door, and is consequently very cold in winter; the tiny, cold bar is filled with patrons standing around waiting for a table. My darling wife and I were seated in the second floor dining room. The room was clean, and the atmosphere was decent... when the room was at-and-below 25% capacity. As the room began to fill, which didn't take long, it also didn't take long to realize that the layout of tables was poor. My table was far too close to the other tables; every table was too close to other tables. There is also no barrier in between tables. So, a large room, crammed with tables, each of which is too close to the other tables. Not great at all. And, thanks to the cramped quarters, I could smell the vile cheese smells from other diner's dishes which wrecked my experience. We ordered crab cakes. They were crispy outside, and the crab filling was moist, but there was so little lemon-garlic aioli that the cakes were rather bland. Furthermore, there were only two crab cakes serves, each of which was rather small. Drink orders placed with the waitress took a very long time to reach the table. The brandy old fashioned (sweet) that I ordered was not sweet at all and there was an overpowering amount of orange. A failure of this sort should not happen at a Wisconsin fine-dining establishment. The house Chop Salad was boring; a bunch of iceberg lettuce, too finely chopped, covered in ranch dressing, and lackluster bacon. My wife's filet mignon steak was appropriately prepared. The crispy duck, which I ordered, was served with a delicious cherry sauce but there was far too little sauce on the plate. The duck itself, when not coupled with any sauce, was rather boring. Also terribly boring was the bed of wild rice served with the duck. Why did you give me the duck's food? Feed that stuff to the duck and let me eat the bird served with a better side dish! Service was too slow and inattentive for my tastes. Every server looked like they were born in a foreign land, and I struggled to understand my waitress's English-as-a-second language. I don't need to go back. There is better dining available in Door County, especially given the prices asked.

He had great suggestions and paced our courses well. We started with the wedge salad which was way better than the traditional wedge salad of bygone days. Everything was so fresh and the bacon was delicious. Baby lamb chops were cooked perfectly. And the sauce was yummy. Shrimp and grits were good. Halibut with lemon risotto was great too. We had a drink at the bar while awaiting a table; the service was quick and the folks at the bar were friendly and ceded a seat to my father, which I greatly appreciated. My Dad loved his (massive) sirloin with sautéed mushrooms and his drinks, which were perfectly prepared. I enjoyed my broiled whitefish, though I removed about 90% of the French fried onions on top of it! The service was pretty good, except the waiter mixed up our bill with another table's, so he had to void out sale and redo both bills. I also requested an espresso martini, but the waiter said they didn't carry any espresso. (Slight bummer for a restaurant with an otherwise outstanding bar.) The ambience here is old school in a pleasant way. Check it out if you're looking for a good "local" Sister Bay experience!
